Arundhati Roy Faces UAPA Charges For 2010 Speech on Kashmir Independence | Briefly Explained
Renowned author Arundhati Roy to be prosecuted under UAPA for a 2010 speech advocating Kashmir's independence from India. Delhi LG Vinai Kumar Saxena approved the charges on June 14, 2024. Charges also involve former Kashmir professor Sheikh Showkat Hussain. The case, initiated by activist Sushil Pandit, follows Roy's contentious remarks at an event with other controversial figures including late Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, SAR Geelani (known for his involvement in the Parliament attack case), and activist Varavara Rao. If someone kills u today and ur murderer gets caught after 14 years..that is not justice. She committed treason 14 years back by endangering or killing solidarity of nation. Why shd she not be punished. Justice delayed is justice denied. Fascism would have been giving punishment then and there without any evidence prepared like Indira Gandhi did in Emergency. Please visit North Korea for better know how on this matter.
