What's the difference between the American elite and American deluxe? I was checking out an Elite Jazz recently, and the controls look identical to the American deluxe Jazz, the only difference I noticed being the wheel truss rod adjustment.

the elite series is basically the new name for the deluxe series the only difference is the neck shape, the heel joint, updated pick ups & the wheel trust rod

+Richyd7770 okay, so it's just the new deluxe series, or is the deluxe series with a new name. That makes more sense, they cost more, I was afraid they were charging more for the same product, obviously with mods, but as in selling it along with the deluxe.

Fender can you please for the love of god sell spare elite parts. i.e. chrome and especially 5 hole gold control and neck plates, gold/black truss rod wheels etc. And don't get me started on the pickguards having 9 holes for whatever reason. literally have to get everything custom made for this bass. good think i fab most of that stuff myself but it'd be nice to get some truss wheel options and pickguards.

You can buy three Sire V7 Marcus Miller with that price point.. and both share the almost equal quality and sound.. Just my opinion though

I tried them and I don't like them.I'll take my trusty vintage fenders over those Indonesian imports.Sire is no different than any of those cheap basses they sell on Ali baba.Besides let's face they're not as sexy.

Ha! I've got a Sire V7 and a Fender 75 reissue jazz. You're way off about Sire's. Real ash and maple. Huge bridge saddles. Good pickups. Not up to American Fender but waaaaay better than Ali baba. I have a Ali baba Musicman and that was not good. It came wired wrong.

Is it really normal that when the EQ knob is in the middle 12o’clock, it sound flat.

The headstock logo is horrible compared to the deluxe series.

HughJanus True. I can't stand the same traditional look of Fender's Guitars. Same 20 frets, Same 4 or 5 string Bass choice options. Same Pick up Configuration, Same updated Models, Same overrated Colors and Most of all Those ugly Long Head stocks on their 🎸s.

Your point? Fender is a pioneer in the business. The most copied instrument types come from them.

....and there was absolutely NO breakdown of this particular bass by artists, whatsoever.

It does? There's a passive tone knob underneath the midrange knob.

btw, why the heckc would you ccall this a breakdown. nobody even talked about the damn features on this 3000$ bass lmao

I searched for months to purchase a black on black Elite Jazz bass. I finally found one in mint condition and paid more for it than a new Ultra which is an Elite with fewer feature for more money. But I had done it and now hold it in my hands. I got my dream bass and just looked at it for a while. Later, I stopped into a Sam Ash music store to pick up pedal and saw one that looked exactly like mine on the wall, so I went over to check it out to see what it was selling for. $400 brand new? “WHAT?” Then I noticed is was a Squier. You idiots at Fender are DISGUSTING. You counterfeit your own top of the top bases with a cheap Squier? What is f@%kin’ wrong with you? Okay, you have no respect for your brand, but how about your pro customers? You just had to rip off your own $2100 Jazz with the same colours and little painted on black rectangle markers on the fret board? Marketing guys that probably never played a guitar just couldn’t help themselves. You couldn’t have painted the cheap Indonesian knockoff dark blue or purple or something? Kids just starting out in their basement that buy $400 guitars made in Indonesia like purple. Who makes these decisions? Whoever signed off on this is a total jackass! Last Fender I buy.

the elites are acctually better than the ultras imo. The ultras when they came out were 400$ lower msrp than the elite. kinda says a lot... anyways hopefully yours has an ebony fb like mine for that price! (btw they stopped using ebony outside of the custom shop i think, 2019 was the last year they did that iircc). Also the MM truss rod wheel....cant beat it. ive played and owned too many basses to count, including an ultra (returned it pretty quick when comparing them at home), but nothing sounds as good as this 2019 elite. idk maybe i just lucked out and got the opposite of a lemon
