    Great review. I guess for general purpose I would go with a Samsung Tab S6 (lite or regular) and for art I would spend a little more and get the iPad Pro 11. Though the S6 could do art too, but lacks the Procreate experience.

    Hi! I’ve bought a surface go 2 because I like the idea of having desktop and a tablet (I’m in university, so ideal for typing my documents and writing notes). I know that the drawing experience isn’t the best, but is it because of the pen or how the tablet’s processed?

    @@ValdemarDeMatos I guess Ipad Pro is not a Surface alternative. Surface line tries to make their computers in tablet form factor, but Apple is trying to make Ipad's more like computers. But you are pretty right about drawing experience. There is nearly no pen that feels like Apple Pencil. Samsung's SPen's are pretty near, but not good as Apple Pencil.

  • @ValdemarDeMatos

    @ValdemarDeMatos

    Berk Beken When I said “I bought an alternative” I meant for drawing, because it was the primary reason I was considering the Surface tablet. I’m not saying the iPad Pro is a full alternative to a Surface tablet... I think the main reasons would be the software that you can use in both devices and the performance on more “heavy” processing tasks. I don’t think the iPad Pro can replace a desktop computer in that sense. But the fact is that in my case it did... I mainly draw, do some graphic design and write (semi professional work). And i’m doing all those things on the iPad Pro. But I understand that this would not correspond to most use cases.

    If i was to buy this unit without a keyboard and pen, would it work great as standard tablet but with win 10. I have a 8" win 10 2004 version chuwi tablet now, works great, just battery life is soso, still get up to 8hrs on max saver settings, full performance 2 hrs. I have a laptop, don't really need a physical keyboard on a tablet. The way i use it is mostly for learning sessions and taking notes on my lap via swiping on virtual keyboard. If you put this on tablet mode, will it load the tablet mode keyboard automatically when required? Thanks, great video.

    as a classic artist, I bought a dell 2 in 1 to try out digital art, which uses MPP technology for pen input. From the first stroke, I was like what's going on with the taper-out, thought either my unit or the pen is faulty, and it appears it's because of MPP technology, SMH.

    If by productivity stuff means mostly text related stuff, then this has no problem handling. Just make sure to get the model with SSD storage rather than eMMC, and get 8GB RAM. It is faster. The first Microsoft Go wasn't that fast.

    windows os will cache to unused ram, this doesnt necessarily mean the ram usage is accurate to everything running, the system stores away what it thinks you might use there so it is launched faster. a better reason to not get that 4gb model would be the rather bad in comparison emmc storage.

    The Go 2 is def a hard buy as it is a compromised device. I suppose the target audience will be loyal MS fans that are use to buying overpriced stuff that is average at best, but TBH for most there are far better alternatives in the consumer market. Maybe the Go 3 will raise the game and correct the failings. Obviously as a tablet the drawing experience needs to be addressed. Also, battery life needs to be closer to double what the Go 2 gets especially as the competition is significantly better. A faster processor is essential, at least have the option for those that want a better experience and are willing to pay the extra and are happy to do so within that form-factor. If not that, then maybe an AMD version or if they can improve WOA, a Qualcomm SoC? MS give us these form-factors that are limited and a work-in-progress but they fail to address the failings, sorta giving up and just churning out derivatives. The Surface Pro line was supposed to push the market towards these 2-in-1's but other OEMs have mostly abandoned them as most users are underwhelmed, disappointed with their downsides, and MS are unwilling or unable to rectify. Hopefully MS are on the job!
