Arthur Khoubesserian's Statement Tonearm

Музыка

Even if you're not about to spend $24,000 on a tonearm, you ought to watch this veteran turntable and tonearm designer explain what he's done here and why it costs so much. Knowledge is free and Arthur has a great deal of it to bestow. Mr. Khoubesserian's original company was Pink Triangle. Today he designs and builds iconoclastic turntables and tonearms for his company Funk Firm.

Michael, thanks for this great video ! I find Khoubesserrian to be one of the most interesting figures in the analogue world. He's a very creative thinker & designer. This would be much better without the major background noise... 😉

German tonearm builder did the exact same style of headshell pivoted zero tracker with a truss construction arm tube, saw it at Munich 2014

So Michael , I'm really hoping you have a chance to audition this arm to put it to the test ....I build speakers and try to sell them that are on the unique side of normal and don't really make massive statements regarding the design I just have people listen an decide ....so hope you get the chance to and give us your report .... the arm looks quite interesting ...

I bet this sounds better than the SAT and it should because it costs the same but it's British YAY.. This plus a Dohmann Helix 1 oh the cartridge Urshi painted lacquer..This would be my dream deck and yes I say deck because I can I'm a child of the 70's.

This arm still has to deal with skating force. Unless the main bearing and cantilever and stylus form a straight line, skating force will always exist. A pivot (or multiple pivots) arm with no skating force is the holy grail of tonearm.

John sweda I’ve listened to it, it’s better than an SME V that I compared it to. Less forced sounding, more 3D more relaxing listen but with just as much detail. Incredible value for money. The FX3 is even better!

here we see and hear two sides of audiophiles: Arthur the technician, who's absolutely convinced of his solution and talk technical only vs Micheal the listener, who has NO clue what Arthur is talking about but only interested in how the arm will perform.

Similar idea to a Garrard 2000 I have, but a better execution obviously.

It's beautiful and will probably sound great, but only 100 made? That seems like a horrible idea. Isn't this supposed to be about music? I'm fully in support of the arm, but limiting it to 100 arms so that they're all bought up before they're even made seems a bit suspect to me.

Tangential air bearing arms sound bad in the bass and have poor dynamics. Otherwise they sound great. I wouldnt buy one. Metal coated foam. Give this guy a medal for innovation.
