  Absolutely enjoyed this one, Mr Fremer...and I'm in complete accord regarding Reader's Digest box sets. The ones that I am buying in London charity shops (aka goodwills) indecently cheaply are splendid, and often come with expansive and novel packaging. May I also add, RD did some fantastic jazz boxes in the 1970s, early and swing jazz mostly. Although the graphics may look a little cheesy, the records are manufactured to a standard that compares well to any other label. Cheers from London, England!

  IMHO G had an excellent drive system. Some users add a fluid damping system to the the tonearm from KAB USA. I never had a chance to make a comparison. If somebody have one of those please make a comment.

  Nice video. Good thing about Manley are the same standards for building audiophile and pro audio devices, even white cathode followers they use a lot are almost the same for both apps. One thing that differs from a few high end manufacturers is use of switching supplies, they probably added slow turn on for HT because tubes last longer this way.

  This is fun! Records are so enjoyable to listen to, and I do some to keep my stuff clean. I didn't know about brushing my brush, I must admit I just rub the dust off the brush with my fingers... I will try a toothbrush... however, all of this makes me think of this: Guy scrubs up and goes into clean room to play a record. Vs Guy hangs with friends while playing a record and drinking home-brew kombucha

  Funny watching about how amazing GZ's quality control technology is while I sit here and listen to two GZ new releases that have tons of pressing defects. Rotational pops and clicks, very high surface noise floors, static. Where's all that QC money going?

  I’m a week away from returning to Canada- after our regular stay with family in Vietnam, and our home and the music collection which contains several of your referenced ‘Readers Digest’ sets and can’t wait to spend some time with them. Absolutely appreciate your wonderful advocacy of the phenomenal gift of classical music - priceless. I’m also of the view that one can’t really have too many records, but my dear wife does not concur

  I recently installed a DS Audio Grand Master for a client. I don't usually go in for multi-thousand dollar cartridges, but I have to admit, that was the best sound I ever heard come from a vinyl record. And I say that with 47 years of audio tech experience behind me.

  The music in the background is just noise - and talking over noise makes it laud and irritating, had to turn the tone off - and look at the video in fast-forward - didn't see much - so what is the point - selling a noise machine with noise to turn the customer off?

  I love how this 480p vid by Michael still sounds better than ALL the 1080p versions of this track that you can FIND on YT. lol I was hoping to find someone who had this pressing and had upload a rip of at least this track in 1080p But this hits the spot after hearing what else was on offer via the search. I started wanting this pressing WAAAAAAY TOOOOOOO LATE. LOL. I remember too, when I made the idiotic decision not to get it when it was available. DUH. lol
