Arthur Butterworth: Solent Forts

I am indebted to Peter Herbert (aka Tubaherbie) for allowing me to make a copy of his original recording of Arthur Butterworth's Solent Forts. You can hear the original recording on Soundcloud at the link below, which includes more details about the piece.
This is the first broadcast performance of Solent Forts, played by the Grimethorpe Colliery Band conducted by Peter Parkes. It was played at the 1996 BBC Festival of Brass and broadcast on 9th April 1996. A lot of Butterworth's music for brass band 'spoke of the north', as Edward Gregson once said - pieces like A Dales Suite, Three Impressions, The Path Across the Moors, Mancunians and Odin, From the Land of Ice and Fire, for example.
