Beautiful.... ❤ i just lost my flattie 3 weeks ago. He was 10 years old. Little love of my life. Miss him terribly..

I got a lump in my throat just watching this. What a beautiful dog. I have a 50/50 labrador & flat coated retriever and she is such a joy.

Absolutely the best breed, in my experience. One of the most family friendly, kid loving, and outdoors trail hiking/hunting dogs ever. Flat Coats do it all, and they do it without reservation, of unconditional love. Sadly, we lost our Oct. 2019, after 14 years of adventures, and enjoyment. She was rescued from Louisiana during the Katrina Hurricane, and quickly fit right in with our family of small grandkids. My constant companion all those years, is sorely missed.

Flats... the most awesome dog breed ever! :)

Agreed 120% I miss our recently passed Molly Mae dearly. So much so, that it hurts watching this video.

Beautiful, sweet pup!

Rescued a year old black pup back in '08, planned on fostering her and adopting her out. She'd spent the first year of her life alone in a backyard, was wild, no manners, but wanted to learn. We thought she was a springer/spaniel mix. Later we identified her as a flatcoat, and I tool her to a dog park every day for a year to reign in that wildness. Needless to say, I fell in love with her, and she with me. I'll always have a flat coat from now on!

I had a flatcoat who was my greatest companion. This video brought both laughter a tears to my eyes. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing. I lost my Flat Coat last August and I miss my Baci Boy every day. Definitely the best breed ever!

I lost my flattie last year at 15 years , "STEAM " - this helped my grief today.

She's beautiful. Love this breed! They are so sweet.

I was like ‘’awww’’ every time a photo appeared 😂😭 she’s a lovely dog 😍

Now with my fourth Flatcoat and loving every minute, got a rescue 3 months ago who is now 18 months old and all the same, complete idiots, but absolutely adorable and will give you all the love you can handle and some more! Artemis is a fantastic looking Flatoat, keep the pics and videos coming, I love it.

I'm actually crying right now because I just recently lost one of my flatties, and I remember the days when he was little.

Thanks for the video. I was missing my "puppy" today. He just passed after 12 years with us as our alpha dog. We had three shelter dogs and the smartest one we found out was mostly a flat-coated retriever. We have tons of pictures of him but very little (only on an old phone) video. While we got him when he was around seven months, he still had that playful exuberance every day, even to near the end. He died two weeks ago of old age. Flat-Coated dogs are great. People just don't know how smart the dogs are. There are actually some in shelters too. We're not ready yet and probably can't bear to get another one so soon (especially a Flat-Coated because it would be probably too painful as a reminder of our Smokey every day). If you've not experienced these guys (or girls), they are a joy. Enjoy your girl. She looks like a fantastic dog.

I'm sorry to hear she has recently passed. I have always enjoyed this video throughout the years. I really like her favorite giant bone. My family had 4 flat coats overall.

Gorgeous dog, First I must say what kind of person would dislike a video this special? I will never understand. I just rescued a flattie. Sadly someone ran over his mother and I did not want him to share the same fate. Awesome breed and a great companion :)

My daughter was given a Flatcoat retriever when she was away at college, After a year she brought her home to us maybe 2 years old then. She is such a sweet natured dog and has my heart. She is maybe about 7 now and has slowed down a great deal and I worry so at her aging as I know the worst day of my life will be when she passes

We drove to Idaho to bring back our Flattie, Persie, to Bozeman, MT in October of 2012. This video reminds me so much of that trip, thanks for sharing! He also does "zoomies" just like your Artemis...now I know what to call them!

That was so wonderful it made me cry. We're animal lovers too, and I don't know what we would do without our dog.

Thank you! Artemis is so much like our flat-coat, Nina. We drove from Denver to Illinois to get her as a puppy; she loved big sticks, is ball- and water-obsessed, learned to open our back door when she was about 8 months old -- and she is the sweetest, smartest, best, most beautiful dog we ever had. We are so fortunate to share our home with her while we can: she was diagnosed with lymphoma 9 months ago and despite chemo, the cancer returned once already. We wish Artemis a long and happy life!

My dog Rupert died a month ago from leukemia! Beautiful babies but they get cancer

it's a awsome breed, our Flat is now 11 years old, but even when some days the age is hard - on other days he's so full of live and wants to play more than other younger dogs :-)

I have a Flat Coat. His name is Gilbert.He weighs about 35 kilos and is the most fantastic companion ever.He is 20 months old and incredibly stubborn but the most amazing fun. Good luck with yours.

Love this video. Wish that I spent more time recording my flatty. Although I can remember the ride home from the shelter as if it was on video. Had no idea what type of dog I had picked up or how old he was. The shelter thought he was a Newfoundland... Regardless, he let me know from the time that we started walking to the car that he sure was glad to be my campanion, and he still tells me, five years later.

3:15 is how my Molly would greet me whenever I came home. Whether it was a quick trip to the store, or after a days work. The memories that brings back, is choking me up, since her passing in Oct 2019. :'(

I love Flat Coated Retrievers! I am only 14 but my family has had 4 of them. I only have 1 right now and he just turned 1. A couple days ago my 11 year old flat coat passed away but I cant imagine living without one.

Yes, they really do need their exercise...we also found out how important that is, and that when they get it, they truly are great dogs.

my flat coated retrvied died a few months ago. I usually watch this video when I miss her.

Hello Elena I live in Milano and am keen on getting my second flattie My first girlie aged 6 passed last August 2022 after only a year I had adopted her due to a nasty sarcoma 😰 I don’t get to see flatties in Milano very often. Please say hello with Eva 💟

Great Video! I have also a flat coated retriever since 6 years and this dog breed is just the best (beside the golden retriever ;) ) if you want to have a family-dog or someone to train. Sadly, Gypsy and Stella, who were from her first litter, and were litter mates, have crossed the Rainbow Bridge🌈... but we have their great-niece, Piper! My parents actually drove down to visit yesterday to get their "Puppy Fix". I was shocked when one of those cuties didn't end up coming home with them lol! 🙄

hi. we have had 7 fcr and some have been large some smaller some with thicker hair than others but they have all had that same love of life, other dogs and especially people, so dont take any notice of that guy who says you have been ripped off, you have not. he is one great looking fcr, enjoy.

I love the video, I have also a flat coated but is a mix with a golden retriever. He is my father´s guide dog and is one of the most beautiful and intelligence dogs I ever met, his name is Dickens and is 7 years old now but he continuous being like a puppy( so get ready :D ).I don´t know about other countries but here in Spain the flat is not a very usual breed but for people like you, every time is going to be a known breed like other retrievers. They are awesome.
