Despite this is unfair, i like this myth because he is *the only one* I like to imagine how they ran into the forest hunting, trying to beat each other at hunting. It could be a great love story for a book or film, two hunters that share the same passion competing to see who is the best. They are practically equal even if one is a man and the other is a woman or one being a giant and hated by the gods for it and she was a goddess. If you focus in the time they pass together you realize they fell in love because they shared the same interests and treated each others as equals because they were willing to compete, which wouldn't happen if he wasn't as good as she. Also you can say even Artemis, the virgin goddess is capable of love. But the only one she loved is dead. And really that's how people fall in love in real life, sharing interests, spending time together and respecting each other. I like to focus more in that part of the story because is a relation that was built slowly even if is the part that's mostly overclocked or has short duration. And compared to other love stories in which the hero just wins a new bride this is a very sweet one

Athena is tolerable. Persephone can be buried. But dude, deep. Over before it began. But there's a difference between physical attraction and real love. You can have a fleeting crush, a one night stand or be in relationship with someone for years but never really love them. The difference is though Persephone never had that, she literally just accepted some gross ass creep who lives in his mother's basement that stalked her and pulled her down. Artemis didn't - so she's always been my fave.

While I do like this version of story, it is a more recent attempt to make Artemis more appealing to a later audience, and writes her in a way that is very much against what she stood for as a god. Artemis' whole niche was virginity and hunting, one of her epithets was Parthanos (Virgin) and most of her hunters swore oaths of celibacy. Artemis and Orion did have a good relationship, Orion often depicted as a hunting companion and sometimes rival, but in traditional myth, were not romantically involved. This particular version as far as anyone can tell was a fabrication on the part of Gaius Julius Hyginus, a latin author recounting the myth many years later. Not to mention the plethora of alternate versions where she deliberately kills Orion.

Another is that she killed him because he wanted to kill everything on earth because of his huge hubris. And no, they didn’t actually love each other. Thank you for covering my favorite mythological love story. I came across a video that was extremely perplexing. Unlike your video where you did actually cover all the different ways, Orion met his demise. This particular video. So far I think it was on a different streaming platform and. Geo blocked because of the fact that, everybody’s video algorithm looks different depending on what countries are in. It was a very confusing episode. In the sense Apollo killed in Orion. But then Orion into TV, drama fashion. Somehow resurrected himself back from the dead. They then started talking about how he tried to talk about how he could kill everything on earth. And Artemis getting angry at this claim. And shooting him dead. But one second through the sheer power of comically unrealistic TV drama standards. He resurrected himself. And he resumed romantic relationship with Artemis. He did this 15 to 16 times. Until the episode ended. that end of the episode. Somehow ended up with a Orion and Artemis getting together… me being a person obsessed with different countries. Mythology. But still learning about my own Hinduism mythology. Decided to scroll back. To the video channels webpage. And I realized not only two things. It was Valentine’s Day. And hence this is why I was recommended their odd web show on my then active Vemio account. It was a special series of not fanfiction. But traditional Greek love stories all formulated to have happily ever after scenarios. To say that that was the most unintentional, funny and confusing Valentine’s Day 15 or 16 years old me faced is an understatement. 😂
