It was a day of creativity, community and coastal beauty at the first annual Art on the Beach Community Sand Art Contest, held in picturesque Lincoln City, Oregon, on August 5, 2023.
Organized by Cascade Head Biosphere Collaborative, this vibrant event brought together artists, families and beach enthusiasts for a day of imaginative expression against the stunning backdrop of the Central Oregon Coast. People of all ages gathered to transform the beach into an expansive canvas of artistic delight.
More than just a sand art contest, the Art on the Beach Community Sand Art Contest was a celebration of Lincoln City's rich artistic heritage, its connection to the Cascade Head Biosphere Reserve and the importance of preserving and cherishing our natural environment.
Judges were tasked with the challenge of selecting the most outstanding sand art guided not only by the technical skill demonstrated but also by their originality and storytelling.
As the tide came in, sand art was wiped away yielding a clean slate, ready for new expressions of Art on the Beach.
