Join me, Kenrick from Rake Healing, for another epic sand art piece! Commissioned by Envirohub Tauranga with support from Tauranga City Council, Bay of Plenty Regional Council, this 45m wide labyrinth was created to raise awareness for Plastic Free July 2024 at Mount Maunganui, New Zealand.

Size: 45 meters wide labyrinth with a 30-meter Blue Whale at the center
Time: July 1st marks the start of New Zealand’s single-use plastic phase-out and Plastic Free July
Purpose: Raise awareness for Plastic Free July
This interactive sand art installation was designed to engage the Mount Maunganui community, especially kids, emphasizing the importance of reducing plastic use and promoting sustainability. The labyrinth led to a central Blue Whale, symbolizing the impact of plastic pollution on marine life.
