How would you describe melted butter?
Omfg that voice is the best I've ever heard
How come everyone in School of Life has a narrator's voice as sweet as honey?

+Iesvilla Lucretius said it made the 'bitter draught' of important yet complex information go down easier. Granted, I think he was talking about using poetry at the time, but I think a calming, gentle voice has the same effect. Dr. Roxburgh and Alain de Botton have mastered this, in my opinion.

What other videos has she done?
Palladio had this beautiful girl's voice in mind when creating calm, harmony and wonder in his architecture..and her face when building simple yet elegant facades.
Dear school of life, do you plan on making a "music" section where you talk about classical or modern composers or musical styles and their effect on society or culture?

+The School of Life / Leo Ross That is a great idea. I've always felt I needed a hand, or an ear in appreciating music that hasn't been machined to be "easy" to listen to particularly classical music.

+The School of Life I can see how that would be difficult. I've taken a course on music history and almost didn't pass. It was a lot of information for sure.

+The School of Life If ever that group needed an intern or something, I would absolutely be willing to apply :D . The lens through which this channel views other arts can help with understanding the deep and meaningful lessons that music can teach us, especially the works of the masters.
Can she read to me every day?

Ryan C... i know!😳 her voice is so soft... damn! And looked hot too!😅
The fact that her voice is relaxing could be an indication that our lives are too stressful and distracted.
This is the most informative ASMR video I've ever seen. I love it.
I'm from Padua, and I grant you that this zone of Italy is filled with this kind of architecture: there are lots of "ville", holiday houses for the renaissance nobles or rich merchants who lived in Venice during the rest of the year to make business. If you want relaxing holidays in a sunny, calm place where you can see pieces of art like these, come visit us!

Wonderful voice!
Hello from his birthrown! I'm always delighted by his harmonious and beautiful buildings... Thanks for this video!
Being just another educational video, I was sent here by my art teacher. No wonder this is exceptionally beautiful! It's by The School of Life!
Lovely voice. I like this host
Man I love the voice of that lady, I could listen to it all day long. Besides the fact that the video is quite educational and enlightening, I think that the most beautiful thing this videos teach us is how to narrate, which is by its own merits very hard. Congrats the school of life, keep the magnificent work going!
I could listen to you proclaiming Vogon poetry for hours.
LOOOOVE THIS VIDEO. Awesome channel. The concept of dignity on architecture is , sadly, commonly forgotten.
That voice, It's like honey dripping in my ears. Amazing
The Dr's Hannah voice tone and pattern is a soothing massage to my brain.I would love to see more vids with her or just her narration.

I found my mind wandering repeatedly during this one. I think it's how soft her voice is or her cadence.
OMG, this woman has such a soothing voice. If I have insomnia, I'm going to keep in mind to put this video on to doze off to slumberland. It's like cream butter to the ear...
I for one am very happy that she is back
She's back!
This is a wonderful video. So inspirational. I hope many city planners and architects would watch and take note..
An architect without an ego, LOVE IT!
Spanish & Italian renaissance art is my savior please cover someone
Andrea my homie. Vicenza native here!
Palladio was indeed one of the best architects ever lived, and created a positive influence on the built environment across the world. Thanks for the excellent video!!
I enjoyed learning about Mr. Palladio and very much enjoyed Dr. Roxburgh narration
After a video about serenity in architecture, I think a video on the works of Frank Lloyd Wright is in order.
I absolutely love your work. I always wait for a few videos, and then binge watch :)
I have never looked at buildings this way. This is amazing
Her voice is so calming and soothing......wow
THE PHILOSOPHICAL MEDITATION GIRL! YES!
Is this section of the channel dead? I miss hearing from this nice lady.
I could not have sensed better the calmness and dignity of the architecture of Palladio without Dr Hannah's voice and explanations.
You guys at the School of Life are the greatest. Wish the better of you all.
It's interesting to notice that a polymath and an architecht Buckminster Fuller had a similar notion of purpose for architecture but he stated it more clarly. He said, that we need a revolution in design so that we can by its means transform humanity and survive the potential of extinction.
Beautiful presentation by Dr. Roxburgh--elegant, calm speaking voice, reflective of the very architectural virtues she notes with Palladio. Nice work!
Great lessons Dr. Roxburgh. I would love to see some videos about landscape architecture in the future if possible.
Her voice makes me feel heavenly!
Dr. Hannah Roxburgh is actually the voiceover artist/comedian/actress Roisin O'Mahony.
Thank you for the excellent video. Can you give a reference for the statement: 'Palladio held views on architecture .... One of these ideas is that architecture has a clear purpose which is to help us be better people.'
Watching this beautiful lesson, I remembered that on his speech about him, John Armstrong said that Goethe had this need to search for soul mates from the cultural past. And one of his soul mates was Andrea Palladio. It was like having an "imaginary friend". So Goethe would have long conversations with him there inside his head. How very practical! This made me think that if we wanted to adapt Goethe's habit, Hannah would be a great imaginary friend for us too:-) An excellent teacher with such a beautiful mind and pure voice. In fact, probably as many of us do, I also remember the valuable insights of these lessons always with Hannah's voice. By the way, for all friends who are as ignorant as myself about architecture, I highly recommend Alain's great documentary " The Perfect Home", which you can find on his other youtube channel. Here is the line I loved the most from there: " Beauty is goodness written into matter."

Such a soothing voice
Been waiting for this!!!
Very soothing voices throughout the channel.
Outstanding Hannah. It warms the heart to hear you say "a seductive portrait of our calmest and most dignified selves." The Four Books of Architecture are...well, hundreds of pages...and I'd love to hear you read every word.
Well done and most enlightening.
Excellent presentation. Thank you.
Andrea Palladio (30 November 1508 - 19 August 1580) was an Italian architect active in the Republic of Venice. Palladio, influenced by Roman and Greek architecture, primarily by Vitruvius, is widely considered to be the most influential individual in the history of architecture. All of his buildings are located in what was the Venetian Republic, but his teachings, summarized in the architectural treatise, The Four Books of Architecture, gained him wide recognition. The city of Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Great video. I would love to see one on Vitruvius!

I would love to see an episode on any of the following: Tadao Ando, Peter Zumthor, Zaha Hadid, Renzo Piano, Santiago Calatrava, Louis Kahn, or I.M. Pei These were some of my favorite architects I studied in school. I'd love to hear your take on them! Thank you for the fantastic content!

Thanks for the video; made me think about the way UI can, intentionally or otherwise, trend towards a Palladion aesthetic.
Her voice is amazing 🤩 ASMR

Good lord, what a truly beautiful woman.

Greetings from Piacenza!
his architecture is like the human body and it's organs..everything is needed and fits with everything else seamlessly as if it was a singular organism.
Dr. Hannah's voice is so relaxing I got lost
