Shen Junshan created too much havoc with his pursuit when Gu Yanzhen had beat him to the punch over Xie Xiang/Liangchen....Junshan just does not exist as a love interest for Xiang when she loves Yanzhen.

It was around episode 28, when he saw Xie Xiang performing on the stage. Since then he was getting more and more sure that she indeed is a girl. But poor boy, having to wonder whether he is gay for such a long time lol.

@@marzenak8617 Oh my God! Is that the reason why he tried to keep his distance at some point in the episode? It puzzles me because he appears to be angry at Xiang that explains it. He thought he was a gay for liking a fellow “guy” 😂

I loved Shen Junshen in the start. But when he treated my baby Xie Lienchan so coldly, I didn't like him anymore. His reaction was too much. And when he started doing all those toxic shit like changing her room and protecting her without asking her anything. I hated Shen Junshen. When you fall in love with someone, you don't try to change them or do you do things without asking them. You start respecting their likes and dislikes

I don't think he did anything wrong or disrespected them. We all know how he is cold and serious. I don't think he ever treated xie coldly it is his nature and he actually cared about her the most and Saving her most of the time. The time he changed her room yes it was wrong to do without asking her opinion but we all make mistake and he did it cause he knew she was a girl and so she can have some privacy and didn't knew about her having feelings for gu. And he did respect her likes and dislikes. He may seem rough cause he always has a serious face. U may be angry with him for some things but isn't hate a little strong word.

@@rosetta_hishh9578 dude he changed her room out of Jealousy. He saw how Xie Lienchan ran to gu Yanzheng. Gu Yanzheng was always possessive but he never stopped her from doing anything. Gu even saved her all the time but without her knowing. While Shen Junshen was a bit toxic. I loved Shen Junshen first coz I found Gu annoying. But Gu improved. He and Xie Xiang grew into each other. They had a sync. Shen Jushan chose his frnd over My baby Xie Xiang. He got mad at her. He accused her. He got played by Jin Xianrong. But Gu always took Xie Xiang's side. Most importantly Gu changed for Xie Xiang. I never support ppl changing for someone. But here Gu Yanzheng and Xie Xiang changed together and grew into each other. Gu started respecting ppl more not just Xie Xiang. He was more considerate. And Gu Yanzheng and Xie Xiang became a power couple towards the end. And Xie Xiang was the most confident and comfortable with gu Yanzheng. #ZhengXiang_forever

Now I am not talking about who deserves the girl more. I myself too ship Xie lienchang with Gu yanzheng. What I am talking about is how Shen junshan doesn't deserve to be hated. Now we all have different opinions and I respect yours too. I feel like the toxic traits u listed of him gu has that too but it's shown more of in a innocent cute way. Yes gu has improved so did shen. At the end we all know how Shen blessed the couple. I also found it a little annoying when he didn't believe lienchang but if u please see it from his pov u won't believe her either. Let's not judge him just because of what looks on the outside. He really trust her like the scene of cutting the wire and everything. Yes he didn't believe her but later he did started feeling suspicious taking xie words and found out later. He was broken too. He seem to treat xie bad but that's his nature he never really treated her bad.

He thought he's in love with a dude... it troubled him. He tried to keep distance from Xie. Then he discovered that she's a girl he embraces his feelings boldly. Unfortunately he's kinda petty... he sabotaged several Yanzhen's efforts to win over her. Which actually made Xie realized her feelings for Yanzhen.

@@wmmv2019 To be fair, Yanzhen was really, really petty for like 75% of the show towards Shen Junshan while he just glared but otherwise took the high road. The harassment, getting him punished for nothing, physical aggression, etc. If someone manhandled even a friend of mine in front of me the way Yanzhen manhandled Xie Xiang while she told him to stop and physically pushed him off of her, he might have lost a hand. It wasn't that Shen Junshan was too petty at the end. I think there were three big issues- 1) He was great when she needed to be rescued all the time, but she outgrew him on that front and became a very competent soldier on her own. He didn't know how to interact with her without being the hero and treating her like she needed to be protected. As she became more and more independant, his attempts became more intrusive than protective. 2) If you watch the scenes where they are sitting around together without a specific task in front of them or without something school-related to discuss, they really didn't have a lot to say to each other. He just isn't comfortable talking ever, and Xie Xiang would look around or tap her hands awkwardly in the silence. They didn't actually have any personality chemistry in the way she did even with some of her other platonic friends. 3) As soon as he found out she was a woman, and he was allowed to like her, he forgot how to be her friend or how they got so close in the first place. He was so worried about this grand romantic plan he had to play games and then do this whole symbolic unmasking that he didn't see that he was just becoming a source of stress for her, and killing the connection that they did have. That being said, I'd have picked him over Yanzhen in a second- any guy who says no when you ask him to stop putting his hands on you and physically restrains you from getting free is major red flags. Then add raging alcoholic and completely unwilling to meet any responsibility when it came to work or business, and it's just bad news all around. He's entertaining to watch, but he's the type of guy that every teenage and early twenty-something dates once, and learns why guys like that make shit boyfriends. Truth be told, Zhu Yanlin or Ji Jun would have been better picks than either of them.

@@elhonnads7165 girl personally I like Shen's brothers. They both hot, mature and respectful. I like the big brother of course and how sincere his feelings for the sassy singer. I'm a mature woman so I even like the director of the school (I forgot his name). He's kinda uptight and righteous ... just like Shen. Anyway I like his face lol I think the main leads are made for each other. The girl is too uptight... she fits with playful Yanzhen personality better. She can straightened him up and get his life on track. I don't have that kind of patience and dedication. Xie can definitely tame him

She was always thinking of her brother when she was with him. And Toby Lee (Shen) even said that his character is just like the brother from the beginning too. And the soft girl would be like Shen more than Gu.😁
