I was there too with my dad at the west stand, must have been about 10. It was so exciting to see David Platt go in goal knowing it would be easy to score again lol

Great David Platt. Played for the Arsenal 1998 Double year. Got a great header against ManU.

@HexenDSK That's right. When Platt went in goal he was first given an Arsenal keeper's top to wear as Villa didn't seem to have a spare!!! Wow, I miss the North Bank!

yeah, he did get an Arsenal keeper's shirt without realizing, and put it on at which point we all sang "You'll never play for Arsenal"...

loved the adidas kits

george grahams team only started getting boring when arsenal were knocked out of the european cup by benfica. before that the teams were quite entertaining imo

30 years ago today.

i was at this match - got a nice little punch in the face of a villa fan before the match outside a pub for absolutly fuck all - he ran off like a twat with 2 of his mates - the only trouble i've EVER had at any football match and that includes the many tottenham away games i went to - winning 5-0 was all the more sweeter
