Hey man, I think I grew up(I'm 32) pretty darn close to the area that you live in. These days I live in southern Berks though. Would love to get together and go for a hunt sometime! I really appreciate how enthusiastic you are about this. I do my best at knapping some of the materials I find but I've only ever tried with natural tools, so my results are pretty rough haha. Basically nobody I know is all that interested in this stuff, so it would be super cool to have someone to chat and hang with on occasion in relation to artifacts and knapping. Glad I found your channel. Keep up the good stuff!

I've been really liking the smashing pumpkins lately andI love other 90s rock bands like Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and Oasis as well. Also, I'm really into Southern rock like the Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Welcome to the gorget club. Too bad that first one was broken. Keep looking. You seem to be on a few really good sites. Those plowed or turned fields have farming equipment on em and they tend to be more broken fragments rather then those full pulls. That lake will be back down this winter and the banks are the places to find em full. Happy hunting sir.

I think your gorget is an extra special kind of find, not just because it's your first (HUGE congrats!) but also because of how it's broken. It broke in just the right way that shows the cross-section of one of the holes. This tells us more about how those holes were made and the technique they used. Not often you get a chance to see the inner-most part of a holed gorget like that. A great piece for study. From a study oriented point of view, I think this makes it better than if it were whole. WOW! So cool! It's way too hard for me to name a favorite song or favorite band but I can tell you what I've been listening too lately: I currently have George Jones' early years greatest hits on CD (CD he says, yes, I'm that old) in my truck's CD player (told you I was that old, lol). The song I've been enjoying the most lately on that CD is "Mr. Fool". Also, I've been obsessing over the instrumental song "Walk Don't Run" by The Ventures. I guess it's in the realm of Surf Rock. Noticed your REO Speedwagon shirt, loved that! If you haven't seen it, I have a metal detecting video from a year or two called "You Dug Up A Rock Band?!" that has a really cool find that relates to that band. Check out if you are bored if you haven't seen it. Sorry, I wrote a novel. p.s. I'm officially calling jasper material peanut butter from now on, if you don't mind. I'll credit you!

Ya know I was thinking the same thing because your pendant was broken in half and so is mostly every other gorget you see. I was looking at that cross section of the hole and was trying to wrap my head around how skinny of a bit they had to use and now I want to find one that small lol. I bet they used at least 2 different sized ones but Ill cover that in my analysis video. No need to credit me for God's blessed peanut butter stone- its royalty free vocabulary! Im making a Spotify playlist of every band and song people recommend. so far its a pretty fire mix!

Check out my cache video- Ive found a little spot that was inhabited from 6500-200 years ago. I was on my hands and knees crawling over the whole thing lol. Counting crows is one of those bands I remember my parents playing a lot. I listen to a lot of 90s stuff

There was only one noticeable plow mark. The break seemed to be ancient but could just be an older plow break. I will do a full analysis in the full video I do on this piece. I do need to keep looking for the other half!
