Looking forward to getting my Bluray edition! I just got back from London and saw 'The Way of the Dragon' on the big screen! It looked fabulous and everyone at the Prince Charles cinema was a fan so all well behaved. Amazing print of the film!

First unboxing on KZread and everywhere else ! This box set will be a very special one for many of us Bruce Lee fans, especially for the Mandarin cut of "Big Boss" that we finally get to see (even if it does not have the most infamous scene.... Haha...), and I think James Flower was very clever to include the full unedited dailies of the original 1972 "Game of Death" for many reasons. I am hoping you will make an in-depth review of the actual content on the discs.

OMG! This is a dream come true! UHD 4K Bruce Lee, and the original poster art work as the disk cover art. Box set looks amazing!

I also received my red box collection it is very impressive. But there is a yellow boxset to which shows more artwork on the packaging and different artwork on the discs . Presumably, this set is a purchase direct from Arrow.

That’s a gorgeous box set ! I have the yellow one arriving in the next few days , can’t wait ! Once again an excellent video Dragon 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

I grew up watching the UK VHS early 80s “censored” versions of the Bruce Lee films. It wasn’t until well into the 90s that I got to see the films in “ all their heavenly glory” It’s great to see the Lobby cards recreate the UK video cover art work. I’m definitely buying this box set. Thanks for the video.

I'll definitely check out those interviews with the people behind this realese mate 🤩🤩👍👍 when Arrow sent out the Shawscope boxes they were in some of the best packaging I've seen, but these "bubble bags" with 1 not really filled with air was a joke if I'm honest!! Like the artwork on the covers in the box 👏👏 great unboxing mate....now it's the daunting task of actually watching this thing!! 😵‍💫🤣🤣👍👍

It’s there, on the U.K. version of the website. If you’re looking on the US website you won’t find it there. It’s a U.K. only release.

Looks awesome! Just checked at Arrow Video, my set's on the way! Not sure what I'm going to watch first (Way Of The Dragon? The 3 hr Game Of Death special? Start at the beginning with the Mandarin cut of Big Boss?), but somehow I see Bruce Lee killing a weekend for me in the near future!

Mine is due today according to Royal Mail. See if my corners are intact. Such a shame all the effort which goes into the production of the set disappears with the packaging. Since they became part of The Butt Group I've noticed a decline in packaging also depending if its a tent pole release or not some are in slip covers others the hard box style.

I'm well jell as they say, mine only shipped this afternoon

Also, in a few weeks, I will be receiving the 50th Anniversary 4K UHD blu-ray of Enter The Dragon so I'll be having quite a marathon of martial arts for the forseeable future. Individual video reviews of each film would be brilliant as you could give your opinion on each of the multiple cuts of the films.

there are three boxsets in total. Two red versions ( one all Bluray, the other 4K UHD for the HK movies and blurays for enter the dragon, tower of death and the documentaries) and a Arrow website exclusive Yellow box which is identical to the Red 4K boxset except it has different cover art and slipcase art but all the on disc content is the same. I have made several videos explaining all of this several times now and Arrow’s website also explains it all clearly too. You can buy Enter The Dragon 4K from Amazon, HMV, Zavvi etc not sure where in the world you are based ?

So you ordered direct from Arrow? Don't like the way they packaged this. I ordered the yellow set and I'm in the US. Most likely coming destoyed. This is what I was afraid of.

Had to order both versions of this release.

I noticed that the Mandarin cut of "The Big Boss" is rated '15', that's a first.

I'm not sure why any Shipping Company wouldn't include proper cushioning and protection at all eight Corners of the Box to obviously prevent the horrible Damage of Dents on the corners of the Box Set which really devalues the entire item !!! Bubble wrap or air bags on the top and bottom of the flat part of the Box set are great but without proper protection on all eight corners of the Mailing Cardboard Box is gonna make dents and Damage more likely to occur quite a lot !!! There will be many Returns for Replacements !!! If Adequate protective Wrapping is used ,just charge a little bit extra !!! Simple solution !!! Businesses lose a lot of money and Profits from Returns and Replacement of the Damaged Merchandise and will suffer from Negative reviews for the shipping of the Product and inadequate packaging Protection, which is unfortunate . If anyone receives the item in Perfect New ,Mint Condition undamaged they'll be very lucky indeed !!! Pray for it to arrive undented ,undamaged !!! Cheers.

@@gavnewton77 i couldn't agree with you more !!! Us Bruce Lee Memorabilia Collector's would gladly pay a little extra for adequate packaging Protection Domestically and internationally !!! Recieving DVD'S, especially Box Sets through the Mail is Really Nerve Racking !!! If the shippers or Warehouse gets cheap on the Protective Wrapping it's guaranteed to arrive with Damage !!! Besides Dents , if the Mail Delivery System Drops or Throws your package around it'll suffer from shock with can Tragically Break the Plastic Disc holders and the Discs can become loose, moving around getting severely scratched and Damaged, can be Disastrous !!! 😥😥. I'd definitely return for a Replacement or Refund as well.

It's because when you order directly from Arrow, you're really ordering from The Hut Group. These boxsets are coming from the same warehouses that are slinging protein powder into the same shoddy boxes as this came in. No, really. Protein powder, Arrow blurays and a million other different things that The Hut Group have subsumed are all just one operation. The people on the ground don't care and they have no reason to. They're not packaging a collector's item, they're just packaging another product. It's no different from Amazon. You wouldn't expect Amazon to bubble-wrap your expensive boxsets so you shouldn't expect The Hut Group to either. Plus they presumably save a bunch of money on outsourcing their customer services to a continent where they don't have to pay well. Evidenced by the fact that when you use Arrow's message system (unless you're lucky enough to get through to someone on the live chat) you will find yourself slowly and agonisingly corresponding with a conveyer belt of African customer service operators who work for The Hut Group. Any complaint you make to them regarding packaging etc will never be passed on to someone at Arrow because Arrow aren't the ones packaging and sending you these products. At best they will pass it on to someone in the UK at The Hut Group. And why would they care if they're getting a few complaints/returns regarding one small subsection of their product line? The only way it ever gets better is if Arrow cut ties with The Hut Group and go their own way ala Second Sight. Where you know that the people packaging your stuff aren't just underpaid line-workers in a warehouse rushing to hit targets, they're part of the team, they care about their customers and actually wrap their products with care and love. Where you can actually email them directly and talk to a real human who will accommodate you on the off-chance that something arrives damaged. The only way it changes is if people stop buying directly from The Hut Group.

Well, mine arrived Friday ( must be one of the first) and having read reviews (AV Forums) I was expecting stunning versions of Big Boss and Fist Of Fury on 4K. I struggled to get a pleasing picture as both are actually quite dark. That’s in True Cinema mode. After, I put the Criterion Fist of Fury in and it had a much brighter and more pleasing picture ( BluRay from the same 4K scan) so, that’s going to be my ‘go to’ and I was expecting to get rid of the Criterion once the Arrow Box arrived. Still recommend it for GOD Final Cut, which is outstanding and better than Criterion’s attempt. I’d still say Warriors Journey is my favourite despite being 20yrs old now. So, mixed bag with this set. Let’s hope Warner’s 4K of ETDragon really pops.

Does the Game of Death II (aka Tower of Death) film in this set that’s blu-ray only also include a lossless remastered 5.1 or 7.1 surround mix that some countries like Japan and Germany blu-ray releases had or is the English and other languages only in lossless mono without any 5.1 or 7.1 remaster?

Would it be possible to stack the 4K disc of Enter the Dragon on top of the bluray? Since the latter is holding all the special features I don't see myself discarding that disc, no matter how old it is.

They're all on the 4K Warner's release to my understanding, and with the exception of the Theatrical cut, the exact same extras are on the standard Bluray disc Arrow have included. I'm not aware of any new extra features on the 4K Warner's disc at all. Maybe I missed them in the list of specs?

I wished they would release the Game of Death discs and features separately, because that’s the one I’m most interested in checking out. I’ve already got the Criterion set and I’m very reluctant to spend on another set again, especially when Enter the Dragon isn’t even in 4K. Also would like to know your assessment on The Way of the Dragon. I didn’t think the Criterion Blu restoration was as pristine as I wanted, so I wonder if they did additional cleaning up on the new 4K disc.

I had hoped they would release Game of Death 2 as a standalone release. I remember they always lumped in together with the other Bruce Lee films when it was out on VHS, but on DVD they treated it as a film in it's own right (which is as it should be as it works so much better as a standalone Hong Kong movie than a Bruce Lee movie). But now they've gone back to treating it as a Bruce movie and making it ONLY available through a big boxset. It's a shame as it's such a good film i wish more people had access to it rather than it being just a bonus feature on a Bruce Lee set.

no it does not.. in the 4K set, the 4 HK movies are on 4K discs ONLY, the extras and documentaries, Game of Death2 and Enter the Dragon are all on regular Region B locked Blurays.

I can. Game of Death has both the Cantonese and Mandarin dubs.. Only English dub for Enter The Dragon.

Yes, the Criterion boxset. I chose not to get it as I would have had to pay over £200 including a multi region 4k disc player. Not worth it in my eyes.

It's a chunk of change to be sure, I had built up a wedge of Arrow reward points which softened the blow quite a bit, but it's an absolutely stunning set, hopefully this will be the last time I buy these movies on physical media though lol

What does Bruce Lee's estate and Shannon Lee think of this set. Is it blessed by her and the estate?

You would have to ask her, I have no idea. Though she did record video introduction for several of the Bruce Lee movies that Arrow screened at U.K. cinemas recently. So I’m assume they approve.

Very different, longer cut of the Big Boss, hours and hours of new extras including a 3.5 hour documentary which showcases all eleven reels ( about 2.2 hours) of footage that Lee shot for game of death. Every take, and several fights ( most notably the log fight) which have never been used in any of the assembly edits before. Not to mention an option for 4K uhd discs for the four HK movies. In truth there are Far too many differences to list here in full.

Mines just have been dispatched (the Arrow exclusive set that is, and interestingly the outstanding artwork (not to offend Tony Stella’s amazing artwork for the red edition) is done by a Canadian, Tom Ralston, like me), and hopefully it will be coming to my house sooner than later. Can’t wait to check out the other versions of The Big Boss (most importantly the Mandarin cut with the exception of that infamous saw-in-the-head scene), Game of Death (with over three-hour dailies for Bruce Lee’s original vision), and Game of Death II (the best Bruceploitation film that is!) when the box set arrives at my home. This along with Enter the Video Store: Empire of Screams (containing five awesome Empire movies including Robot Jox and Dolls) will be 2023’s Arrow 4K/Blu-ray contender. Speaking of Matalo, I’ll be getting the Blood Money set next month since my wallet is killing me right now, as I’m a die-hard Italian spaghetti western fan.

Lots. Different ( longer) cut if The Big Boss. All eleven reels ( 2nours +) of footage Lee shot for Game of Death assembled into a 3.5 hour documentary. Different remasters, new audio commentaries, much better printed extras, 4K uhd discs for the four HK movies and on and on.

Criterion still hold the US rights so that’s unlikely, but if you have a multi region machine you can import the U.K. set easily and a number of US retailers will be selling it stateside.

@TheFanaticalDragon - have you watched the Tony Rayn's video essay yet? He has quite a few errors in his video essay about The Way of the Dragon, Enter the Dragon & Game of Death 2. Let me know if you notice the same misinformation.

I noticed a few slip of the tongues. And it’s clear that Tony isn’t a huge Bruce fan. But that’s cool. Some of my favourite lecturers at film school hated most of the movies I loved the most. I like Tony, even when he’s being a bit cranky ( or making the odd gaff)

Also, thanks for the unboxing on Brotherhood of the Wolf. I just bought a copy of the studio canal 4k online. Looking forward to watching the directors cut in 4k. (I decided on the studio canal set instead of the Shout Factory set because I think Studio Canal puts out better sets than Shout Factory. Another reason why I own a region free blu-ray player.)

nope, plays fine for me, both the review disc and the final released version, its a region B Bluray just as Arrow advertised it would be. All the BLurays in the boxset ( 4K and standard) are UK region B locked.

The boxset is called Bruce lee at Golden Harvest for good reason, it's focused on Bruce's HK movies primarily. Enter the Dragon is only being included as a bonus extra ( which is why the disc is identical to the old Warner's Anniversary release from 10 years ago) Warner Brothers own Enter The Dragon, not Golden Harvest/Fortune Star ( who supplied the elements for all the 4K discs in this set) Warner's are putting out their own 4K release soon, pre-orders are up already.

Why would they? It’s a U.K. release not an international one. Any French releases I get don’t have English audio or subtitles. As soon as any label starts to add international language options the licensing costs skyrocket. Arrow secured the rights to release the set in the U.K. only.

If possible please can you post individual videos covering the movie plus the Special Features included on each disc? Perhaps, also one longer length video covering the contents of the entire boxset (which could just be edited together footage from your individual videos) so viewers can pick and choose which they prefer to watch. I of course shall be watching all of your videos as I always do. 😉 Thank you for your consideration my friend.

the re-released the individual films as standalones and they were quite a lot cheaper. The Boxsets sold out pretty fast so the prices went insane

I don't hate the artwork on this version, but I do feel it is a little out of place for a boxset like this. Particularly the ones that are simply white backgrounds with a watercolour painting of Bruce...it's the sort of art that would be nice as a set of free postcards but not as covers for such iconic movies. You could argue that the other box set is quite simplistic too but they've made that look a little classier with the borders and iconic colour schemes/poses. Also, Arrow definitely didn't do themselves any favours by not showing the full artwork for these sets...they never showed the back of this box so their selling point was just the front which was a single image of Bruce against a red background.

Fair enough mate, everyone has different taste, I much prefer the Red set to the Yellow, but i've been a huge fan of Tony Stella ( the artist who did the red set) for ages. it's true that Arrow didn't showcase the rear of the box themselves, but it was out there, Tony had shared it a while ago and i showed it in one of my earlier videos about the set.

my apologies, this was the only space i could use today, I'm doing the best i can to still make content at the moment whilst living in a building site. there is a dialogue free shorter version of the video on instagram if you prefer. Or I'm sure many others will post unboxings on other channels soon too.

​​ No Worries Mate, i. did wish you spoke very loud to compensate for the low audio sound !!! LOL. Simple Solution was to turn on the KZread closed Captions !!! LOL 😂😂. It would really worry me now if i Ordered the Set , due to the distance it would have to Travel from the UK to the USA !!! Maybe Ordering the Two Box Sets would be safer ? More Bubble Wrap please !!! LOL 😂😂

I'll probably Order Two Of the 4K Ultra DVD Box Sets even though my Television & Blue Ray DVD player aren't 4k Ultra or all Region DVD player !!! I'm planning on purchasing a 4K Ultra Wide Screen flatscreen Television 46" or a 50" and I'll Order a Multi Region/ all Region 4k Ultra/ Blue Ray DVD player to upgrade to today's Technology !!! LOL. Sorry to hear that mate, I’ve been shouting out the region B element in every video I made about the set for the last few months! You’re gonna need to get a cheap multi region Bluray player my friend. It was Criterion putting out their Bruce Lee set a few years ago that made me bite the bullet and get a multi region player so I could import it from the US to the U.K. best decision I ever made. Having a region free player opens up the world and let’s you import and play anything from anywhere!

Man, Golden Harvest should fired person who thought it would be good idea fold bruce lee poster. Damn, the boxset ruined bruce lee poster. It should be unfolded; it should include rolls. Love to put them picture frame and collect all four and add some led lights.

Raymond Chow died in 2018, so no. Fortune Star own the rights to all Bruce Lee’s movies now.

Including Game of Death is a blaspheme for Bruce Lee's legacy

not quite, the 4K discs are yes, but half the boxset ( the 4K one as well) is region B locked Blurays
