    Very useful show! So many people grabbing these amazing 3s 4x4 BLX Arrma trucks right now and all want to know how to tweak and personalize them. Great value RCs and amazing entry level trucks that aren't prone to break near as often as those that offer "greatest parts availability." If viewers are new to RC and want best value and customization above all, get on the Arrma 4x4 BLX line and customize your speed control settings just as shown here in this helpful video!

    Thanks man. I tried to raise the braking power as described in the manual. I couldn‘t get more than 4 beeps. Thanks to your video I now know that one long beep equals 5 beeps. I don‘t know why they don‘t just write it in the manual... You helped me a lot. Thumps up to you!

    THANKS: As always, this kind of vid is magic if you haven't done it before. I followed the manual (pretty clear) but after 4 distinct beeps I pressed again and only heard one beep: figured it had rolled round. My manual said I had 9 brake settings! So the KEY LEARNING POINT here, is the continuous note: which is actually 'more than 4 beeps'

    Awesome info thanks. I went to punch setting #4 on my granite BLX 4x4 brushless, but I managed to strip the plastic spur gear running on 3s. I upgraded to the 4s metal spur gear and will be going back to punch setting #2 actually. Too much pop wheeling for me hehe. I feel that I'll break more stuff on punches setting #4. It also makes my granite less controllable for me. I did increase the brake force on puch setting #3 though. Hehe.

    I just did it according to what I understood from the manual and guess I was wrong. But I have the V3. Can't imagine that the esc programming is different from yours. I'll have to give it another go. I got the right variable but I think I missed on setting the step. I held the setup button until it beeped as many times as the chosen setting and the turned the esc off when I think it reached the step I wanted without letting the setup button go.

  • @DriftomaniacsRC

    @DriftomaniacsRC

    5 жыл бұрын

    John, I cover setting the endpoints in the video either just after or just before this one. I'd recommend setting them as it's an easy job but what it gives is the maximum possible throttle and the max braking. Now that might not sound like it'd do a lot BUT when I had my Nero doing that added 5mph on to the top speed so I've done it on every car ever since. The factory settings are supposed to be good but doing this seems to help. Hope all that makes sense

    Jason this is a pretty good RC to buy as your first one, it's fast at 50mph but not too fast, you need to budget for a battery and charger and as much as I support LHS (Local Hobby Store) amazon is your best bet for those. It has an XT90 battery lead so search on XT90 batteries & charger. The granite will take a good knock if you crash it, it wheelies a lot BUT that can be boring after a while, I would say buy the senton 3s blx which will handle better as it sits lower and so will turn better at speed. Any more questions just ask away as always happy to help. I don't sell RC cars so I'll call it like it is

    Now something may not quite be right. As out of the box it should wheelie on blacktop without any problem at all. The battery sounds spot on for good power delivery. Is the throttle dual rate on the transmitter turned right up? AHHH! It might be this!!!! Is the power level switch on the transmitter on 100%, make sure it's not been knocked down to 25 or 50%! I'd have my money on it being that! Also they recommend recalibrating the esc if you change that power level although I don't do that some people say you should. Let me know how you get on

    Shaunn I pretty sure on this one you set it using one of the variables on the esc. e.g. no switch

    I have a question. When I pull the trigger to go forward, and then brake quickly, and want to go immediately into reverse, I have to pull the trigger back twice it seems, it wont quickly go into reverse. I hoe Iam saying that correctly. It seems there is like a delay, and I have to push the trgger up twice in order to then reverse. Is this normal? Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

    John, if I read your post correctly you're having to hit it twice to get it to reverse, this is normal as the first push is going to initiate the brake, the second to reverse, it's done that way so as to save the transmission. Think of it as you would your road car, if you were going forwards and slammed the car into reverse without braking the transmission load would be huge.

    It's because the Arrma ESC low voltage sensor is set too high from the factory (unfortunately is not adjustable) and these Arrmas are so power hungry so when you do long wide open throttle pulls it drains the battery voltage down to below what the ESC low voltage cutoff is set at and once it dips below that, the ESC goes into limp mode. You can either try a battery with a higher C rating (maybe 75C) so it is possibly able to not let the voltage dip as much so hopefully wouldn't dip below what the low voltage cutoff was when you do those long wide open throttle runs. This also is worse when you run in the grass or something like that because the motor has to work a bit harder, so it uses more voltage doing that rather than on the street. The other option, which is what I did: Turn the low cut off switch off (turn the ESC to NIMH mode) and get a LiPo alarm and just run it like that. The LiPo alarm is more accurate anyways if you get a decent one so you have more freedom and can get more out of your battery. You should be getting 15-20 minutes in the grass of HEAVY run time, and probably 20-25 minutes or so on the streets in my experience. Hope this helps you! Good luck.

    I have a 7200 mah 75 C battery, and I usually get about 70-80 minutes of bashing out of it. I can do continuous flat out speed runs for 25 minutes. I'm thinking it's your battery. Flat out, nearly constant 100% throttle, you should get at least 15 minutes, and at least 45 minutes if you're just bashing around. Is your battery hot after use? It should only be slightly warm to the touch at most.
