Arrma 4s Outcast/Kraton Servo Saver Upgrade. 3s 4s Hot Racing and Kimbrough. Steering Fixed?

Hi all. After my video where I highlight the difficulty I had steering my Arrma Outcast 4s, a few people suggested a servo saver upgrade. Thanks to all who gave me suggestions. Did it fix the issue? Well a bit but you'll need to watch the video for more details. Many thanks for watching. Please like and comment :-)

Hi Pete and another great share of your RC knowledge! Good advice indeed and with a few fnarr, fnarr's thrown in along the way, ohh err! Stiffer certainly seems to be better when it comes to many things in life and RC related, too! Enjoyed as usual, mate, have a cracking evening there! 😎😎👍👍

Thank you for your kind feedback. You know I have a new found love for this truck now that I've done the steering mod and also now that the tyres have worn down a bit so it can slide the back round easier. Also it is much more fun on loose ground like I was saying in the video. Thanks again :-)

@@PeteWylieRC I've converted my K 4s from a slipper clutch to a central diff like the new V2.5, and that has reduced the wheelie a bit. I'm also ordered some tyres that doesn't bite as easily so hopefully that will help. Another option is to change the diff oils to reduce the wheelies a bit more. But that's a task for another day :-)

Good to see the saver upgrade worked in the end, the very reason i went with the Kraton 4s v2 was I didnt want a constant wheelie monster. The Kraton suited the type of driving I do better.

Cracking video Pete , as you know I have one of these coming myself . I think I’ll order the hot racing servo saver now seeing this video . But as you said with it being heavier and chassis design don’t expect the world . Be mindful of we’re your using it and how you drive . Still very excited to pick mine up . Thanks for the video once again buddy .

Dremel cut off wheel worked fine for me, and the Kimbrough is holding up after a couple dozen runs. You don't have to cut back much of the servo horn to make it fit. With that said, it's only slightly tighter than the original servo saver. I think that it's hard to build a stiffer (but still functional) servo saver in this form factor that can take the abuse that the Arrma 4S models give it.

Hi there. Yeah it's a shame they didn't put in an adjustable servo saver within the linkage rather than this servo mounted one. The 3s cars seem to work fine but the big wheels on this are too much for this servo saver. Many thanks indeed for your great feedback. Much appreciated 😁👍👍

Luckily the Hot Racing servo saver was on hand too (good thinking having a plan B) 😊😊. Well like most KZread channels I'm just somebody who does a hobby sharing what I'm up to with a generally friendly community. I do explain my mistake with the Kimbrough servo saver and what I should have done and then showed the Hot Racing upgrade and did a test drive with it. I shared my thoughts on what I think of the truck and the upgrade. Nowhere do I say that I know what I'm doing. If you already know so much about this then why are you even watching and why don't you make a video about how to do it properly. I receive very few negative comments and the ones I do get are always from channels with no content like yours. Like I say this is mostly a friendly community so lets keep it that way.
