I've been to China 5 times now (1994, 2002, 2006, 2018 and 2024), for China travellings, there are couple of perspectives of what you guys wanted to see like :- - Cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzen, Hangzhou, Suzhou or Guangzhou for to experience yourself how modern, advanced, great foods, cleanliness of Chinese cities overall (yes 99% of wherever go visit in China will be Clean generally) also to observe how (in general) the people are living in relaxed and happy conditions WITHOUT the fears of crimes, gun violence and feeling at ease unlike some countries where they avoid going out after dark or behaved like a scanning machines which scans 360 degrees when you out there. There are no perfect human beings, so are the Chinese people but they were brought up not to go the evil paths (crimes) with heavy punishments and together with those millions of high res cameras, those with bad intentions knew they can't run - that's how China brought their crime rates down so much as compared to the 80s and 90s when crimes were high. Cameras will work on good Samaritans (with rewards when necessary) and at the same time deters those with evil intentions, for me those cameras were nothing to me when I was there as I did not have ill intentions at all but at the same time I felt safer with extra eyes watching my safety wherever I was. Try walking about around the cities even up till midnight, even single girls are doing that without fears but the real danger going out at night is their foods, you could end up eating extra calories before sleeping. - Out of cities to those heaven-like mountainous areas. There are many, probably too many attractions like Zhangjiajie, Jiuzhaigou, Guilin, Lijiang, Guizhou and so on. - For experience China's thousands of years of historical evolutions, go Xian - Not forgetting China's 50+ ethnicities with different cultures, many people mistaken China has only 1 ethnicity which is Chinese but within Chinese, there are 50 over different ethnicities - Finally observe the Chinese people's livelihoods, something I did and got me questioning why my own government(s) within the last few decades COULD NOT do to make my life much easier like what they have in China. Subsidized high speed train (350kmph) tickets (so cheap which encourages their people to travel within China with ease), electric cars which cleared the sky off polutions and they're so quiet, even noise polutions are reduced so much, cashless payments - everything paid via phones (no need to worry about people snatching your phones because they can't use it anyway with biometric protections and the law is harsh on crimes, life in China is so much easier and I wish my government could manage my own country like them. My latest trip to China was in April 2024 (last month) to Guizhou, it's not a modern city but more towards nature, mountains, waterfalls and different Chinese ethnicity experience (Miao ethnicity, the longest living ethnicity in China in terms of old age, I've witnessed 80 years old doing labor work which I don't think I could). Here you go, my apologies for being long winded as I didn't like to sugarcoat things, I'll tell the truth even if that hurts. Enjoy your trip

Haven't you noticed that China is not only safe, but also a free and open country. For example, you can use a camera to record videos in hotels, restaurants, and public places without any objection from Chinese people, including staff, security guards, and police. Sometimes they even understand and tolerate the ignorance of foreigners.

@@user-ih7us9rh6q I don't agree with your viewpoint. As a Chinese living in Canada, I don't have to worry about my car being stolen in China because even if it's stolen, it's difficult to sell or transport these cars. But in Canada, I'm afraid to buy a new car because I worry that this new car might bring me danger. If these cars are only stolen and transported to Dubai, I don't think much of it, after all, Canada is a democratic and free developed country. However, if I'm sitting in the car and they steal it, there's a possibility of physical harm to me. So that's the biggest difference between China and Canada. When it comes to life safety and democratic freedom, I actually lean more towards life safety.

Shanghai metropolitan includes Puxi and Pudong, in between is Huangpu river. Pu is the ancient name of the area means “port”, and Xi means west and dong means East. City center is in Puxi, Pudong used to be agriculture farming area and later developed to be residential, industrial and business in late 1990. Puxi is the more mature and a lot more expensive area, sort of like Long Island vs. Manhattan. Based on what I heard in the video, they stayed in Pudong, hence few tall buildings and less busy. So technically they are in suburban area of Shanghai, not tourist view of Shanghai.

Yes but the problem for us as full time travellers we don't have a plan. We just buy SIM cards in each country we visit usually. That was our issue

$115 Canadian for the night. But that was pre-booked through the Expedia app so I'm not sure what it would cost if you just arrived and asked for a room locally.

This is just a small appetizer, it's just the beginning, the most surprising is yet to come.

The hotel and its breakfast are about average by Chinese standard. I have been to much much better ones. One of the best things with hotels in China is that they usually have very good breakfast included, unlike in Canada where you'll be lucky to have a "continental" in the morning. Same goes with airline food. Air Canada serves shitty food on international routes, and no (free) food service at all on Canadian and US flights.

Agreed with the breakfasts mostly! But I think for us it was just we missed the major airlines because we had been traveling all year through South East Asia and Asia in general so we were used to booking and flying with either short flight carriers or budget carriers to help with the costs. We haven't flown with Air Canada since we started traveling full time back in April 2021 and at the time we were happy with their long haul flights and service.

If you have seen the famous novelist Mark Twain in the last century, and his short story "Campaign Governor", you will be less confused about the current situation. Just like the performance in the novel. In the process of competition, if anyone feels that he can't compete with his opponents. Try to spill dirty water for the other person, slander the other person's character with lies. Even spending money to find a group of children with different skin colors appeared on the stage of the opponent's campaign, letting those children call him "dad" at the competitors. In order to slander the other party's private life chaos. This is the manifestation of vicious competition. Healthy competition should work hard to improve yourself and surpass each other. Instead of trying to drag the opponent's pants, let the other party go forward. This is also what the United States has been doing in the past and now, trying to do everything to sanction China. Just to slow down China's development. The United States has never thought of saving the money spent on foreign wars to improve the life of the American people. Improve that bad infrastructure construction. I know the cost of employment in the United States is expensive, but I believe that the United States has not launched wars for five consecutive years, does not help the foreign war, and saves all the money to develop domestic construction. Promote medical insurance, increase employment positions, and increase national welfare benefits. Increase work hourly salary. The status quo of the life of the American people is definitely much better than now.
