agreed Arnel saved Journey for us . I saw him in New Orleans a couple years ago with my niece and I was so impressed !! So good! I'm 57 and finally got to see them even without Steve I'm satisfied :)

He is as talented as Steve Perry❤❤ i am a 100% Steve Perry fan and now I am also 100% Arnel fan❤❤❤ wowow what a voice!

When I was in the Philippines back in May 2022 me and my Filipina had a kerioke party and when a journey song came on there was 200 Filipinos in the street singing every word. It sounded so well it gave me goosebumps and made me cry. The people have so much passion and love for journey. They treated me like family and now I have a huge Filipino family back home in the Philippines. I will always love the Philippines and can't wait to finally move there

If you observe Ross And Neil, they often look to Arnel while playing...and you see will a great smile from them, they cannot believe that Arnel was so energetic in the stage knowing the fact that this was his first time big concert...Singing tenor voice while running, jumping, dancing and shouting are so freaking hard...that's why until now he's the frontman because of his amazing perfomance...

Dear Arnel, you saved Journey. Steve made it, you saved it. Thank you for great show, great energy and for carrying journey legacy. Honestly , I don’t hear the difference and you are as good as Steve was. Today, maybe even Steve wouldn’t sound like he sounded back in the days. You are awesome !! Arnell was what Neal was looking for… a Perry replacement, but they had a powerhouse singer in Jeff Scott Soto. I really think they gave up on him way too quickly. With Deen also in the band they could have done some exciting new things with that duo. Arnell is a great singer though and fits perfectly no doubt.

I am 78 with seven children, through the years I heard all kinds of music, but I liked country. In 2006 my husband died and in 08 I call my second of seven who is then 40 what was her favorite band in high school. She says Journey, since I have time I look them up learn their background then I found you were now with them, so I learned everything I could about and prayed for you cause you touched my heart! in 2013 you were in Kinder La at Coushatta Casino my daughter bought tickets and even though they were kind of not so good on your left in bleachers almost in the corner I enjoyed every minute of it! My youngest bought me your CD and one day it was blasting away and teenage grandson says wow mimi I love the song! you are cool, mimi! yup too cool to be called grandma!! Blessings for the new year!!!! I watched all your interviews and would tell my daughter about your journey. love the one where the guy at customs said sing! and you sang , Wheel in the Sky! mwah! and hugs!

I was born in 1984, when the success that came with Steve Perry was starting to go away. I grew up with the voice of Steve on the radio, listening to the good old days songs. I'm an 90´s kid (in terms of music taste), but with a strong 70´s and 80's influence. Journey has been part of my life since I can remember. That night in Chile was like a fire reviving in mi heart. For me, Journey was "a band from mi childhood" that acompanied me through the years. With you on the lead voice, I was now certain that good old times made it through the years, and one of my favourite bands was back and very alive. You´re welcome in Chile anytime you want.

Hello Arnel! I had the opportunity to be there with my brother. I'm from Chile, born and raised in Viña del Mar. My musical tastes completely changed that night. I was a ''pop girl'', but when I listened the first chords from ''Separate Ways'', it blew my mind. The story it's different today, because that ''pop girl'' was left behind. People are judgemental because they are jealous, they should be thankful that there is Arnel Pineda that saved the group. Keep it up Arnel don't listen to what people say, you are gifted and GOD put you in that position just don't abuse yourself or involve on drugs and alcohol.

I watched one of his interviews about this concert. He said he was so nervous back then. Can you imagine that, being nervous and still able to slay? What more if he's not.

wow !!! I just saw a documentary where drummer says when (while playing) he was watching Arnel's performance he thought to himself "this is like David Lee Roth and Bruce Lee" hehehhe anyways, definitely a flawless and fantastic performance, simply Amazing!

A dream come true for him considering he grew up on the streets as an orphan!

lets say all the former lead singers are very good singers. but Arnel came in with package, his charisma was able to reach out to all ages , all level , to bring them to watch their show. the band were surprise and happy that the crowd compose of the very young and the not so young. . to be able to sing is not enough. to be able to connect with the audience is the most important. he got the killer smile. when he sings. he really look into the audience and not up . his voice is thick and brilliant . this is like in a sales department, the manager wants to know how much sales can the new applicant bring in for the company. . in the case of Arnel , the picture or the video of the audience speaks for itself. this is best guy Journey is lucky to have .

Yeah Steve Perry isnt just good bro, he is literally thee greatest Rock Singer of all time... Arnel is not close. And thats not a dig at Arnel. Arnel has done a fantastic job imitating Perry, but to mimic Perry's range and strength of voice is just not possible.

@alanmckenzie3228 Honestly, Arnel doesn't even sound much like Steve Perry at all when he is using his real voice. His impersonation is great tho. But if you listen to his early stuff when he wasn't doing Journey covers, he had his own unique voice. TBH, I think him impersonating Steve has been a blessing and a curse. Mimicking Steve had taken a huge toll on his voice. Even Steve's voice deteriorated a lot by 2010. That style of singing is super demanding. I feel like Arnel should have done a few years with Journey, then went fully solo to preserve his voice and gain his own identity.

What a beautiful concert of Arnel Pineda this unforgettable, mabuhay Pilipinas.

Thank you Arnel for breathing life back into my favorite band of all times. Yes Steve Perry was a legend but you’re a legend as well your energy and love for the music is very infectious.

So much admiration and respect to you sir Arnel. Your voice is truly a gift from above. Years may pass , your voice may change as you age but the world will always remember you being one of the great talents we ever got. Mabuhay ka!

First time live with the band? Wow. I'd say you pulled it off. A few small glitches but it may have been the most important performance of everyone's life on stage that night and any serious doubts were erased.

among the bestconcert and performance of AP was Chile! though his first, you can hear his high pitch and emotions for every song! seems his used to singing in a huge crowd like this! Arnel we're too proud of you, Godbless!

Imagining myself being in the crowd, watching the crowd's reaction haha. Amazingly you can tell the guy is well toned as a singer and a performer. I've currently watched his videos when he must have been only 16 years old. He is awesome!!

That video of a young Arnel singing classics shows a glimpse of hit vocal capacity before his voice was ruined by his lifestyle during the dark years or his life. Many complain about him not as great as the prime Steve Perry not knowing that Arnel was past his prime when he joined the band.

It looks like everyone in the band is really having a great time!

You can feel how the original band members enjoying the night. They feel how Mexicans loves Arnel although it's Arnel first concert with the band. Thank you Chile.

I am very impressed with their sound and Arnel sounds amazing. Steve Perry, was the original but I believe Arnel to be the next best thing!!! Keep it up Arnel, have a good time!!! WOODY

Hello people, I'm an avid fun of Journey ever since I heard their songs on the radio. Steve and Arnel were so great respectively. Back then, I would run closer to the radio just to hear those favorite songs of the band up to this time, I still do. Thank you guys for keeping the memories of my highschool days. Don't stop believin'!

He's not Steve Perry, He's Arnel Pineda, a great singer in his own! Brother you did so well, big shoes to fill for sure. By the time you got to Faithfully, that crowd was yours brother!

i dont know how many times i've watched this concert on dvd since 2009 until now , actually im not a journey fan but when they found arnel and have him sing for them i fell in love with their music , i also always watched his gig with his former band zoo through youtube .. i am one of your biggest fans around the world , you are one of my silent mentors .. sadly i dont even hear you sound live which is a so much pleasure for me if it happens .. however my dream is to sing with you and im looking forward to this .. sending all my love along the wire 💖 godbless you ,

Totally agree. Arnel Pineda's mission is to continue the legacy of The Journey. Of course, Steve Perry has been a strong mover that catapulted The Journey to fame and glory until he left in 2006. Then in 2007, The Journey c/o Neil Schon discovered Arnel thru a YT video...and, as they say, the rest is history. When Arnel was hired, the band filled the lead vocalist they badly needed. And so, the band proceeded with extensive American and international tours/concerts. In fact, Arnel became the longest lead vocalist of The Journey ever.

My most favourite inspirational singer of all time,kuya Arnel Pineda. I never get tired of watching and hearing journey songs. Hope the best for Arnel Pineda, wherever life's journey takes him. His fans will always love his spirit and humbleness despite all the success he had achieved. This songs uplift my spirit

i never seen how hardworking these guys are. they love their job. they want to do it well to make the customers or viewers ( those who paid for the ticket) happy and to make their money worth.
