Husam is absolutely spot on. This is a completely underwhelming appointment and means Liverpool, with FSG's sell to buy policy, and a bang average manager, will become a bang average team. Next season you are looking at 6th and no trophies. Mourinho, the elite trophy winner (who beat Slot in a final 2 seasons ago) was available. Amorim (the next special one) was available, and the club goes for this guy. The biggest issue at the club has always been FSG and their sell to buy policy, which prevented Klopp winning more trophies. Now, it will be FSG and a bang average manager.

A bit worrying also that Michael Edwards wanted so much control could be very dangerous

Yes Slot did well domestically (even though he failed to win Eredivisie this season). I mean even De Boer, ETH and Gio did well domestically... Amorim would have been a much better choice imo.

As supporters of the club we have to accept the decisions made whether we agree or not. We all wanted Edward’s back in charge. We know how he conducts business. He has hired Hughes and together they have chosen Slot. We can bicker and moan but Slot will be our manager and initially we must support him. If things go pear shaped, we must brace ourselves and be prepared. I’m seeing a lot of dislike to the appointment and rightly so if you look at all the facts. Personally think this will be a huge task for Slot but I am hoping he can win the fans over with what he does on the pitch.

Unpopular Opinion: Obviously, it is absolutely insane what Xabi has done in a short time, Massive respect to him. But somewhere in me I feel Leverkusen could be the Leicester of Bundesliga and this may end up being a one off. I don't think you should be obsessing about Xabi who is way too early into his managerial career, next season when there is more eyes and expectation on him, I would like him get over it and then if he comes out shining then and only then Liverpool should go for him. Amorim made sense in that context, Slot has a lot of people to win over with his appointment now
