Don't think I'm ever going to get over Klopp leaving. I was a fan long before he joined but he brought the kind of integrity that I want. He brought the character that I would ascribe to merit. There will never be another Liverpool manage like him. People can say he only won 1 PL but it was many years of brilliance. I wish he'd change his mind. Only the best, From Ireland.

I am Liverpool fan living in Alkmaar so I support AZ Alkmaar. Slot managed AZ before Feyenoord and the job he did there was amazing. He almost won the league with AZ before winning it with Feyenoord. I watch Eredivisie every week and winning the league with Feyenoord is much harder than winning the league with Ajax. Especially when Eric Ten Haag was managing them. Ajax are the Man City of the Netherlands all the money is there. Slot is definitely the Klopp of the Eredivisie.

Maybe, but without sounding arrogant... the Premier League is not the Eredivisie. The financial gap between our so-called "big 6" (City, Liverpool, United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs) and the rest of the Premier League is huge... and the financial gap between Man City and the rest of the so-called "big 6" is also a thing. The financial gap between Ajax and the rest of the Eredivisie is not the same

@darthpepe2994 With respect, I don’t think it’s accurate to paint a picture of Big 6 with all the money … Newcastle and Aston Villa are sizeable clubs with Big funding and resources -West Ham too Even small clubs like Bournemouth and Fulham can pay similar wages to some Big Fish in other European leagues due to the crazy TV Money that dictates too much of the beautiful game

I still believe there is a financial gap, however even the so-called "average" or "lesser" clubs like Villa, West Ham, Fulham etc still have teeth. Chelsea and Man Utd are only below clubs they shouldn't be below due to bad spending... but they still have the capability to spend more money... and they're still not a scratch on Man City

Liverpool are changing their whole phlociphy, Slot won't be like most managers, it will be very much like the movie Money Ball where there is a GM who builds the squad and takes care of contracts etc etc and then the Coach who's job is to make the team work and implement tactics. LFC has turned from the Klopp show, to the Mike Edwards show.

The pressure on Klopp when he went to Liverpool was higher than it will be for Slot, Liverpool have installed a fantastic infrastructure behind the scenes that Klopp didnt have. From what ive seen of him, his character, charisma and man to man management is superb, playing a more controlled game with lethal attacking options all over the front line. I have a feeling this guy is going to be pretty damn good for them.

Very happy with the appointment. He plays a similar style to Klopp, so not too much tweaking needed. And, from what I've seen, he is very comfortable with the media. He has the charisma that Klopp has and that alone has won me over.

I think Liverpool need to move away from the klopp mould. I think klopp managed to compete by being the best at his style of play, but i don’t think his style of play is the way that will win consistently. The team requires too much turnover of players, not enough defensive focus.

Mark goldbridge is an incredible example of a fair, honest football commentator. He speaks such good sense.

You're spot on Mark. Definitely top 4 and a decent run in CL next season and hopefully compete for PL in second season. Can't be hoping to win PL next season with 2 great teams like Arsenal and City with managers who are settled in their roles. I would also like to see some progress in sorting out some of our flaws: the TAA problem, stop leaking crap goals, figure out a front 3 with chemistry, hopefully see some players improve.

People won’t rate him but I’m actually optimistic about him for sure. Charismatic bloke who plays the same style, our experts are usually spot on.

Top 4 next season is a realistic goal then build from that.

I'm happy we got him and it is also a good moment ot get him. Our season is practically over after last round of the PL, players can now start thinking about the new season - who wants to impress the new manager and fight for a spot, who wants to jump ship. Come June most will have their mind made up I hope whereas if we got the new manager at the dead end of the season players like TAA and Van Dijk would most likely not extend their contracts.

I'm an Ajax fan and even I rate Slot above Ten Hag. People forget that Ten Hag's last six months at Ajax were pretty atrocious and they were scraping by(still won the league though). Slot has been way more consistent at a club with a fraction of the budget that Ajax has

Klopp's philosophy is one of fear. The players seemed petrified of making mistakes. He called it heavy metal football, but I saw it as very risk averse. We need to be far more daring and I hope Slot diverges from the current system.

Slot is going to surprise the entirety of England football. I don't think it's a bad thing so many people are doubting his ability, but he's the best coach I've seen at our club since I've been following Feyenoord. It's going to be a lot of fun to watch Liverpool the coming years

As a Liverpool fan I have no opinion at this point as I’d never heard of Slot until 3-4 days ago so have no idea what he will be like 🤷‍♂️

As an LFC fan I feel like Klopps gengen press has finally been found out, when Liverpool are in possession we struggle to break down teams and rely on moments from key players. All you have to do to beat Liverpool is to try and get an early goal and then park the bus because we rely on the counter attack too much, we struggle so much to break down teams. Arne Slot plays attacking football, however rather than relying on that counter from the gengen press, he likes to hold possession (similar to how Pep plays) and break down teams. So as an LFC fan I'm devastated to see Klopp leave (obviously), however I'm excited to see Arne Slot providing a fresh system that hopefully brings silverware to Anfield. Luckily for Arne he is inheriting a young exciting squad built by no other than Jurgen Klopp.

as an LFC fan I'm extremely excited at the prospect of Arne's arrival. Scary thing is the transfer window, where Mo will probably go and our frtontline in general are not delivering what Sadio, Mo and Bobby did.

Slot v ETH comparisons are a joke. Liverpool are a massive, big trophy winning club. United are mid table has-beens.

What you're not counting on with us being in the title race is the fact that Klopp has set up this squad to fight for titles - that is also why he is a legend - leaving when the train is speeding up not slowing down. Throw in new signings from Edwards and Hughes and great coaching from Slot and we have a recipe for success. No one said it will be easy but I expect us to challenge after a big summer.

We will have to wait and see

No, we belive in Mike Edwards!! Slot is just a coatch now, Edwards has got rid of the manager role......... So now LFC is going to be much like the A's in Money Ball, with a GM that does everything (selects and buys players, Contracts etc) and all the Head Coach does is trains the team and implements tactics.

The next 2 summer transfer windows will be interesting. I’m interested to see what happens with players like Gomez now that klopp is leaving. I think you’ll see certain players leave who klopp kept around cause they fit his system.

As a liverpool fan this makes me quite happy i think slot will be a good fit

I think there will be a few curveballs that may throw the league into a flux next season. I genuinely think Man City will be hit hard by sanctions by the Prem League in regards to the infamous 115 Charges. A 30-45 Pts Deduction will open up the league, and as a Liverpool Fan I would be loathed for a team like Arsenal may get the chance to the win the league out of default.

He’s gonna slot right in, I’ll see myself out.

I agree Mark. Top 4 and QF in the cups is perfectly fine next season.

At the start of this season, w/ our new midfield, I was just hoping for Top 4. And here we are about to wrap up Top 4 + an EFL Cup. Next season w/ a new gaffer, a Top 4 finish would suit me just fine, w/ maybe a good little run in CL.

Don't let this distract you from the fact Pep's bald shines the brightest ✨️

One thing that's pretty obvious with Arne Slot compared to EtH is his personality, he actually has one! Hopefully he's miles better in the football management dept too 😄

LFC has a style and structure that needs to continue. If Slot can work with that then I wish him nothing but the best.

I still think Klopp had enough of the poor quality officiating. Just imagine every week giving everything just to have the refs screw you week after week.

We are a good side, but there are so many new faces esp. the midfield in the team.. I don't expect them to play well together in just a season.. In fact, we have overachieved by going into a title race.. I'm expecting a lucky 3rd place this season, most probably 4th.. Which is why I am not as sad as many fans do when we out of the race..

Focusing on the premier league era is disrespectful to the legacy both united and liverpool. It also insults those fans for whom the prem is merely the recent era snd not even the longest period of their support.

Super great feedback by Goldbridge - thank you. Fans across all clubs should continue to pressurise the poor quality of officialiating this season, utterly embarassing. Anyway as a liverpool fan, Klopp has decided to leave and we need to embark on a new era, I hope Slot can solve our attacking problems and give us a killer instinct against teams in the PL that we should be beating with ease. I hope in the final third, there is better creativity than what Klopp was able to do for us.
