I like how you could easily buy 2 boxes of Rangers of middle earth, paint them up with a different scheme, and have an instantly up to like 1200 point battle. Very easy army to get into if you decide to just buy the hero’s and regular generic rangers

totally agree! honestly that is pretty much what i have done when i have played them haha. i actually write on their bases with a pencil for might will and fate. might on the left, will in the middle, fate to the right side. that way i can just use any number of my plethora of rangers and have a cool army with easy to keep track of stats!

@@ardascholar5289 oh smart! That’s what I’ll do. I’m painting my ithilian rangers right away but I think I’m going to give them a similar but slightly different scheme and use them as both… damrod makes a very convincing Arathorn if you squint a bit lol

Thanks for this video, it helped frame my decisions as I’m just getting into MESBG. On that point, what army books do I need for a Ranger army/ legendary legions, and if I wanted to ally in Hobbits (with the Shire likely becoming my slow-grow army)? Thanks again.

The Rangers themselves are in the Armies of the Lord of the Rings book. The only LL they have available is The Grey Company which is in Gondor at War book. The Shire is also on the same book as Rangers. Hope that helps and let me know if you have other questions or video topics you would like to see! @@joemountains1539 that sounds like a safe bet. Those bows are only 18 inch range so remember that. But having the longer range Ranger bows should make your opponent come to you. Sherrifs having bash with their clubs can really be a sneaky awesome thing. Good way to potentially knock a mounted hero off their horse
