Picked up the PS1 copy of this not too long ago and was wondering why it felt different! I grew up with the n64 version and had no idea the stark differences between all of them. Great video thanks for making this

N64 does have auto aim it just doesn't have the target pop up like the other two versions, plus the N64 has multiplayer where as the PS1 version doesn't, not sure that it would matter this day in age because you'll never find anyone to ever play this 4players but 20 years ago or so maybe....

I didn't even notice it had auto aim. My default from when I played as a kid was to go into 1st person view. I had the N64 version growing up did not play PS1 till I was an adult.

I grew up with the N64 version and love this game so much. Should try and finish it haha. But honestly the PS1 graphics are such a let down and I think the Dreamcast is better overall definitely, but if you had to choose N64 or PS1. I think getting the N64 is the best for gameplay, and then okay the PS1 cutscenes on your phone after you finish a level 🤣

When I played this game on my Dreamcast through GDemu, the shaking textures were very noticeable to me, this is especially noticeable if you get close to a tree and look at it and the boxes with ammo were also shaking.

Just beat this on Dreamcast and I was like I swear it had sweet cutscenes when I was a kid that’s what lead me to your video guess I played the PlayStation version when I was 10 lol.

Yeah, I still think it's so weird that the Dreamcast version didn't include the cutscenes. It came out after the N64 and PlayStation 1. If anything they should have had updated cutscenes.

N 64 win

You didn't mention the arsenal differences. The PS1 version didn't have a grenade launcher or shotgun while N64 did, I'm assuming the Dreamcast did as well. There may be other weapons, those are just the ones I remember.

I grew up with the n64 version I loved this game so much I beat the ps1 and Dreamcast versions and gotta say the Dreamcast would be my top gotta say I test enjoyed those full animated videos , could never get enough of jim Cummings

The thing is dreamcast was closer to ps2 than ps1,so graphically was a beast

Dreamcast looks so good

dude this game was hard as balls near the end. Also note the N64 version does have auto-aim but it just sort of happens when you fire

PS1 version really looks like the same engine build from army men 3d but with different levels and the FMVs slapped in

@@2BitJesusChannel have you done videos on Sarges War? For some reason there inst really much music in the Xbox version compared to the Gamecube one I noticed.

Dreamcast has the weird games buttons when playing games

I think it's more like a multiplayer game I didn't play it but my friend on Xbox was telling me about it and I saw his achievements

In case ppl didn't know the cheat codes for this game will work for 2 player mode PS1, I did this playing against a friend, he was like what was that? It was nothing I said & messed with him the cheat codes it was pretty humorous 😂

I always saw comments online that the N64 version is better, but I personally enjoy the PC version the most. That's what I grew up with

As a kid my family had N64 but games were so fucking expensive. I remember being at Software Etc. in the mall and Tony Hawk 2 was $50 on N64 and $20 for PS1. So I got a PSONE and never looked back. Well until now, I have all my consoles on a nice CRT and I just got my first Expansion Pak. Sarge's Heroes has a high-res mode, looks great. Maybe I will beat it.

That's why rental stores like blockbuster were so popular back then, as a kid I would compare PS1 and N64 versions of the same game a lot, and I guess it depends on your perspective and what matters most to you in a game but the N64 ports were usually better, the way the PS1 displays 3d environments just looks so ham-fisted to me

My favorite is definitely the Nintendo version it feels at home on the N64.

You know they got a army men spiritual successor but it's called something else it's on the Xbox one and PlayStation 4

Yeah the differences are few and far between. You have to find maybe like you said a switch game to compare with the Xbox and PlayStation versions.

Overall, the PS1 & PC Versions are the best versions of this game, not just because of the cutscenes, but because they had the best controls. The N64 Version had GOD-AWFUL Controls due to the fact that there was only one joystick and it locked the camera to the direction Sarge is looking, and with Tank Controls, that is a PROBLEM! The Dreamcast Version had the Best Graphics, and was basically just a Better Version of the N64 Version. But the controls are still a huge problem with that game too. So despite the fact that the Dreamcast Version is the Best Looking Console Version, the PS1 is still the most fun to play due to it having better controls overall.

Yeah the controls were the best on PS1.

PC version is king.

You overrate the Cutscenes in the psx Version. The Dreamcast is the overall best version.

PS1 is ugly as f**k
