Cheers Richard! Very happy with how the Sapphire is running! Few little things to sort, then it’ll be back on the road for the first time since 1975! I’ll keep posting episodes 😊

Running beautifully. These Sapphires are in my opinion possibly the best saloon made during the 1950s. Superbly built and much more sophisticated thasn Daimler with the nearly 3.5 litre hemi which produced 150hp in twin Stromberg setup. Not only enough to reach 100mph but far better than a Bentley to work on. And in preselector mode you have a really fun driving experience. And a great car club. Nothing else has the elegance.

With dual carbs too! Amazing to think they’d put out 150 horsepower in ‘54 as a postwar English car. Thanks for the comment!

My grandfather worked for AS and drive a Star Sapphire right up to the mid 1980s . It’s still on the road to this day very much cherished

Marvellous! I drive a 1969 Daimler and our club had its annual display day today, with visiting Siddeleys, Rileys, an Alvis, a Humber and an Austin Healey

A truly british car. I have always wanted one of these Star Saphires. I gave up searching as these are so rare. Impossible to find one. So one of my other choice was a Bentley T1 1970 or a Facel Vega or a Bristol but the cost of acquiring the latter two was way beyond my budget. Although identical to a Silver Shadow there are slight differences especially the front grille and mascot.

They’re the epitome aren’t they. This is the Sapphire Mk1, so a few years before the Star Sapphire and a bit easier to find! I really do love the Bristol, the aerodynamics are amazing and that steering wheel, just like a cockpit of a plane.

Lovely car; do you have any plans to upload longer videos? If so I'd certainly subscribe and follow the story.

Hi Hugo! Yes, definitely longer videos are in the pipeline. I’m trying to get it back on the road, then once that’s achieved I want to do a series of road trip videos in it, giving insight into the experience of driving it over longer distances 👍
