I always thought the armor system is a bit unbalanced sometimes, so as a random idea, I thought that it would be more realistic that there should be the possibility to weaken armor over time when shooting at it multiple times. Right now when we shoot at a heavily armored part of a tank like the maus, let's say the gun mantlet for example, it will always bounce, no matter what damage or penetration values your tank has. So I thought what if every tanks armor is cut into a grid system with individual parts to it which can be damaged, so when you shoot at the specificly heavy part of the enemy tank, it will bounce at first, but if you keep shooting it, it will weaken over time, to the point, where said part becomes as thin as the enemy tanks rear armor. The weakening of the armor should also depend on the attacking tanks overall gun attributes. The weakening could either solely depend on damage or penetration or something else completely. The health of armor plates should also be adjusted correctly in which I mean, that the thicker the armor plate is, the longer it takes and the harder it is weaken it. Ammo type should also influence the stats, like AP does the most damage to one plate if shot bounces, APCR and HEAT do less while HE and HESH both splash an area of armor plates. If the shot overall penetrates the plate and does damage, the plate will be minimaly weakened. If the shot bounces, the plate will be weakened normally. I thought of this concept as a way to balance bunker tanks and premium ammo a bit as in if you can't find a weakspot on an opposing tank you create one yourself while premium ammo does little to no weakening to the armor while keeping the penetration values. Although premium ammo as whole should be further discussed, as it is very unclear what exact values it should take. I haven't really thought beyond this on my own as I am pretty sure this system also must have some flaws which I haven't thought about yet, as such I shall post this essay under a random video of WotB content I found and have the community think Ideas themselves if anybody cares to read this.
