The akimbo AC distracting the tank was insane - he got an arm shot off and still raised his other arm to fire one last time before getting eliminated. They even give you the radar showing the tank is absolutely locked onto him, and his fate is sealed - god bless that magnificent son of a bitch.

This emphasizes why the mechs are called, "Armored Cores" in the most brutal way possible. You see them getting reduced down to nothing but that - _just like Human Plus is doing to the living pilots._ So long as they have an inventory of parts to put to use - human _or_ AC - they'll keep assigning missions as their whole reason to exist. I can't wait to see where the story goes with this one.

The fact that the AC uses the heat from the minigun barrels to plunge the gun deeper is nothing short of amazing.

This is definitely horrifying, you can feel the fast paced action in this future which is plagued by war...and the David versus Goliath moment was jaw-dropping and awesome too! The pilots of the Ravens must have incredible guts to go into battle against enemy armored core units that can kill them in various horrifying ways. I have a feeling the MC doesn't even have a body anymore, and the Raven could literally be his life support unit...or his brain had been uploaded into an AI for the Raven itself.

Pilots are called Ravens or Hounds or Linx. The mechs are ACs, or Nexts. Depending on the game of course.

It's amazing how well FROM convey mood. When that first arm came off it made me pause and think 'wow it must be horrifying to go from some untouchable pinnacle of war to being totally outclassed and helpless, stuck inside a steel coffin'

@@laughingman7467 To be fair. in the last two generations of AC, you almost actively have to try to get a negative payout on almost any mission. So this way of doing things has been around longer than the Souls series itself.

I rarely pay attention to CGI trailers, they're mostly confetti to me, but this one is indeed special. Music, action, atmosphere are just *chef's kiss* It's so horrific and beautiful. Kudos to the team who made this!

Story TLDR: Walter sends his hounds on a mission. they get rekt, however the mission is complete. Walter goes to a vendor to buy a new pilot and the vendor is like dude what happened, and Walter is like No comment. 621 is the PC and he is connected to a partially build AC, it seems rather than a "pilot" its more of you are more of less "installed" in the AC...

@@tango5thetargeted73 Human+ is if you get into a specific amount of debt you can opt into "unsanctioned" body modifications to clear that debt and start a new career as a raven. This is different and is more like a Space Marine Dreadnought where the pilot is being installed in the mecha as a component of the mecha rather than being a traditional pilot that gets in and out of the mech.

I technically think the animation came from Bandai Namco. But I don't know if FromSoft has an in-house animation studio. I thought they got their cinematics from a third party, but I could be wrong.

As a veteran Raven, this has me all misty. It's especially awesome to see more lore based around Human Plus and the pilot inside the core. I haven't felt this hyped for a game in ages. I'm beyond ecstatic.

Praise Fromsoft for basically bringing mech games back into existence.

621 is us, but the AC in the collector's edition and the one from the first trailer, Nightfall, is different. Elden Ring collector's edition had a Malenia figure, and "Nightfall" sounds kind of like "Nineball", AC that has been the final boss of many classic AC games before. Fromsoft is cooking something, and i like it.

Looking closer at the trailer it seems like it was downloading the memory of the mission as it was told into the new mech if anything it’s more akin to 9ball than anything

The pilots in this trailer are all numbered and in numerical order, but 618 is missing. I wonder if they will be a character in the game or if they are already dead by this point.

617-620 is an interesting choice for designations on these ACs. For those unaware, 666 is often associated with the Roman emperor Nero, but another number is also attributed to Nero, 616. 617 and company are 1 number (+X) off from that designation. Hard to think that isnt intentional.

Holy shit I got chills. That first AC getting wasted by that Giga Cannon looking thing just set the freaking tone. I am excited for this.

Oh this is good, I m glad that From Soft keeps their Sci-fi gritty and, their Humans +, and their [UN]ACs with 3 Patterns.

this is what i want in mech animated series or anime, the gritty and brutal environment, unsettling feeling, not mechs with big booba pilots. The gundam hathways flash actually feels like this in brutal fights

Such amazing sound design and storytelling in this trailer. Action so fast-paced you can just barely register the loss of teammates on their mission, mixed with the long drawn out operator declaring deceased action pair up perfectly. Only 1 more month until the hopeful release of this title and I can only wish for it to come sooner. This game will immerse many into the world of AC to its' fullest! 10/10 trailer.

That removing of the needles (looks like life support) at 2:46 feels so cold and heartless

There isn't a damn thing in that room that doesn't... just a couple monsters pushing "product"...

The best game of my life is finally returning!!! After 10 long years my pain will finally be over and I can return to the battle field as a Raven again!

I love how sinister this feels. It's not shiny heroic mech battles, it's military brutalist sci fi in both tone and design. I really hope this is a sign of From attempting to add a deeper story to an Armored Core game. From what I've heard they've never really put much emphasis on story before in AC, but I think there's plenty of potential there.

I know people don't like Souls being mentioned, but I'd be astounded, if they didn't adopt aspects of its environmental storytelling. Just look at the page with the stickers in the collectibles, there is one logo with a lobotomy needle inserted in a head. Then look at the trailer, the "pilot-thing" has a needle going into its head as well. What does it mean? No clue yet, but it's exactly the kind of thing that keeps Souls and Elden Ring games relevant in the lore community for years and years. And I love From for it. They are incredibly meticulous with details and then leave a lot to be discovered by the players instead of spoon feeding every idea they've ever had so we stupid monkeys don't miss it.

I could see them drawing from their experience with Sekiro too, having more scripted moments and storytelling during the missions. After all, the project lead on this game was formerly the lead designer on Sekiro.

in the same boat with you. the other mech game i played strike suite zero and M.A.S.S. builder was a nice snack but i was starving for a new AC to be release! Here I thought fromsoft forgot about armored core serious

I see a lot of weapons carried over from ACVD. Very nice. And I appreciated that homage to human plus.

Objective: Survive till August.

Man the sound designs are SO good! You can feel every click of the machine gun barrel, every burst from the thrusters. And those eerie sounds of the operating arms moving at 2:38 and the strings at 2:48, literally giving me goosebumps.

Hit after hit. From is simply incredible.

That explosion at 2:38 was great. It is so damn annoying and EVERYWHERE that there is a dust wave on every damn explosion on that camera angle, yet here it is realistic and hence, immersive. First time I see a proper effect of subtlety on a distant explosion.

There's something admirable about fighting till the end with everything you have. Even against such daunting odds each one of these units kept pushing even after losing an arm or leg. That kind of sacrifice had me in tears.

Well, we don't have the full context of these events. But the way it usually goes in these games is that most pilots aren't fighting till the end and sacrificing themselves for some noble goal. Instead most of the time they're doing a high risk job for some faceless corporation and putting their lives on the line out of sheer desperation because they REALLY need the money. And I doubt this new game will be very different.

@@gvulture1277nah I teared up a bit too. The feeling of being seen as sub human yet being a badass in war, loosing allies and pushing on without letting loss get to you just to sacrifice yourself in a badass way for people that don’t care about you is sad as fuck.

I never played any of the games in the past and I just stumbled across the trailer and been HOOKED every since, this story trailer looks very good and have very high hopes in this game !

If you're able to find some copies of the older games, try to purchase Armored Core IV, Armored Core: For Answer, or Armored Core lll: Silent Line. I've never played ACSL, but AC4 and ACFA blew me away.

1:25 - 1:55 is one of the most incredible cinematic scenes I have ever seen in my entire life. I felt this physically, emotionally, and spiritually. They really knocked this out of the park and reminds me of a time when it was standard for every video game to have an opening, epic cinematic. This trailer is outstanding

I am excited for this. One of the very few games I pre-ordered. I'd say the only one in the last 10ish or so years. That's how rare it is for me to do that. I didn't do it for Witcher 3, and I love that game. So my excitement is really high for this.

621's conscious is not uploaded into their AC. They operate the mech just like any other pilot would.

I was expecting good things but omg that was incredible, one for the history books of gaming in my opinion, for sure up there with the Starcraft 2 suit up scene etc, wow!!

In the original games we were ravens flying free… in 4 we were lynxes fighting for pride… now here, we are but dogs fighting on a dead planet leashed by the hands of masters we cannot hope to understand. We had names in the previous games. Now the Hounds are just a number to be incremented when one is lost.
