So what's this mod...? This mod increases mission enemy count, makes enemies more strategically placed, adds more enemy variety, and makes the game a whole lot harder- all without outrageous nerfs to your arsenal or buffs to theirs.
This mod is FREE. Don't take money for it.
Feedback is appreciated! I release mods while they're still in Beta/Alpha form because of feedback, please report bugs and tell me what I did right or did wrong in the mod!

    Can't wait to see how you'll change the Freud fight in ACVI. I'd love to fight a lore-accurate Freud that isn't a pushover! Same with Nightfall, too. They both deserved so much better, they feel way too easy which feels like a lore/gameplay disconnect.

    The only way to do that is to make them cheat like AC fights in the old games. Nightfall isn't a pushover at all, he just uses the starter AC parts so most cheeselords who played the game destroyed him pretty quickly. Try doing a run where you don't use OS tuning or any of the OP cheese weapons.

    I think boss ACs being able to move when using weapons that would normally stance is a good start. Nightfall shooting its Songbird whilst quick boosting is quite the update.

    We’ll see whether or not that’s possible :| I can’t change AI, though I’ve tried several times, so the only way to buff Freud or Raven would be like Voon mentioned- stat buffs

    Unfortunately AI is impossible to alter despite various attempts, the only way to buff Nightfall would be stacking buffs on him like HP/damage buffs. I’ll keep on trying to find ways to fairly buff him though :/

    Awesome! While I was experiencing my first playthrough, I did feel as though the enemy count on each mission was really low. This mod is everything I could want in a hard mode.

    this looks promising, the fodder enemies were waaaaay to easy except for the helianthus wheels in the cel240 mission its exactly what i was looking for in an overhaul!

    This looks amazing, and I can't wait to try it. I must ask - it looks like you were able to modify some computer piloted ACs. I know this is a very long shot, but would you be able to release the tool set you used to do that? It would be amazing to create our own computer ACs, even if they had to use the templates of existing behavioral scripts - just optimizing what's already there. Picture Carla with an optimized AC, for example.

    I wish it was that easy, but it's not one tool- it's four. I wouldn't just need to release a tool, I'd need to release a tutorial. The tools aren't made by me either way- I use them, but they're accessible to all (Fromsoft Modding Discord has a list of them). Though I could make a tutorial ye

    May I ask you what editing software you use, or would recommend? I only know about recording with OBS, and that's it. u.u I'll assume that the rendering after a video is done as edited, would take ages, too? ;-;

    I use Clipchamp, Microsoft’s free video editor. I don’t want to sound like an ad but it’s free and has basically everything I’ve wanted besides one niche feature that isn’t really required

    @@maybebirb Oh, ok, me too, I just saw that it seems it would cut the framerate to 30 and the resolution even when saved at 1080p, it looks... lower than what I recorded in OBS? >_< Ugh, would want to have a higher resolution for a trailer.

    So with the increased enemy count and potential difficulty, are there any compensations to ammunition and resources? Or do i gotta bust out the the swords?

    Part of the challenge posed by the mod is that running out of ammo is a valid concern, so there aren't any buffs to the player's arsenal

    But, if i have to fly past the enemies to conserve ammo for a big fight, what's the point making harder to fight unless they are the objective? Genuinely asking

    @@-Mothy- The point in making them more difficult despite ammo concerns isn't that you should fly past all of them to conserve ammo, it's that you should use melee options if you have them, choose your fights carefully, and make sure all of your shots count. No wasting 20 bullets on one enemy because they all either ricochet or miss, no reserving melee options exclusively for tough opponents- the works. Honestly a great question though, very much worth asking

    @@maybebirb I was able to replace the regulation.bin in the Inferno mod with the NEXT Regulation.bin and it works as of the AC Test. I would have to play all the missions to see if it breaks, or if this was already tested and breaks.

    It's super simple. Just download this mod and mod engine 2. Place the contents of Rubicons Inferno into the "mod" folder of mod engine 2.

    Not necessarily “just”. There’s some enemy count increase but there’s also custom ACs, better enemy placement, unique enemy variants, etc. Even so… I guess I’m not really sure what you want…? There’s a reason nobody does comprehensive campaign overhauls for ac6- it’s stupidly hard. If the mod lacks what you’re looking for idk what to say, as idk what it is you’re looking for

    No, in fact it isn’t… Did you just miss the added enemy variety, clever use of pulse protection drones, customized boss fights, replaced dialogue, new NPCs, and edited training mode? Not to be rude, but play through a mod before you draw conclusions, or at least watch a trailer thoroughly

    Not to criticize the hard work that had to go into making this but to call "hard mode" mods generic by increasing enemy stats, only to increase the enemy count instead like its some musou game is...funny to say the least

    There have always been people who make mods for the clout, and they'll plaster ads all over social media because they know that 90% of people who consider themselves gamers have zero critical thinking ability outside of the game itself whatsoever.

    …That’s a good point lol. If I had to justify it then the difference is that one increases everything by a static and constant amount, while the other doesn’t just duplicate preexisting things but also makes them better-placed and have more optimal versions depending on the situation and place, or for example, it adds HCs and the like as more normalized enemies (not completely but yk). A few missions in and one will pretty quickly see what I’m talking about, like the mission Attack the Dam Complex. And I don’t mean any offense to people who enjoy enemy buffs as a hard mode, I just feel like there’s more that could be done for a true hard mode mod. If there’s something I can do to make it more suit your fancy then let me know

    I’d say this mod easily sets it apart from just “more enemies,” the artillery placements, custom bosses and more throughout the mod make the difference between RI and other difficulty mods night and day, at least for me

    For what it's worth, the grunt enemies are fine for the most part in AC6. The problem is that aside from a few missions, there isn't a lot to fight. Like I've never been in a situation where I feared I was ever gonna run out of ammo fighting grunts except when I fought against Michigan and his MT squad.

    ​@@ricoanderson6626 You're not wrong, but I do want to point out that I always hated having to deal with ammo limits, especially really draconian ones like in AC2 and another age. I really love that AC6 usually gives you more than enough ammo to handle almost any combat situation, and I'm guessing that is going to come in really handy during a playthrough of this mod.
