Armored Core VI - They Were Good Pilots (GMV)

Ойындар

Music: "He was a good Stalker - Synthwave Version" by Tamás Borbély ( • He was a good stalker ... )
[This is a 1080p video upscaled to 4K to preserve bitrate and avoid artifacts, expect loss of quality when viewing at higher resolutions!]
Dedicated to the friends C4-621 failed to keep on his path across the scorched surface of Rubicon III.
It has been quite a while since any game resonated with me as much as ACVI with it's stunning cast of deeply human characters. I wanted to put emphasis on the fickle nature of allegiances and how comrades will turn into enemies for reasons beyond you and them.
The song featured in this edit is a remix of a simple campfire ballad from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, meant to commemorate comrades and friends lost to the Zone.
This project started in early March of 2024 and took well over a hundred hours of recording and editing. I hope you enjoy.

Yea, absolutely! Intercept the Redguns was the first time I felt really, really bad about what I was doing in this game. Michigan being your biggest hypeman even when you're out to kill him was something that I wasn't (and still ain't) prepared for emotionally. And betraying Carla right after she saved your ass was insanely cruel. Especially when you manage to make Chatty laugh during that fight and she thanks you for it. Damn, that stung! But what a great game to make you feel these kinds of ways! Thanks for checking out my video

Thankfully, 621 was on no one's side officially so we were able to be on everyone's side at some point or another. Too bad it didn't last though... Reminds me a lot of what The Boss said in MGS3 which always resonated deeply with me: "The foibles of politics and the march of time can turn friends into enemies, just as easily as the wind changes. Ridiculous, isn't it? Yesterday's ally becomes today's opposition."

I wanted to apologize. I wanted to regret. But that would be a smear on all their names. The best I can give them is a fight worth dying for, and the knowledge i did it because I had to... to get where I had to go. The admission, that in another life, another set of circumstances. I called all of them... friends. We're all battle buddies now... and I'll remember them all.

The addition of the Redguns cheering after Michigan's pep talk is a detail I'm glad you kept. It was a reflection of how amazing a leader he was and what he meant to others that weren't you. It's what broke me when I first killed him. These pilots were people, and we snuffed their flames out to keep ours burning.

Just as a flame turns to cinders, the life cycle of AC6 comes to an end. I hope we get at least something for the game's anniversary. And so... People live as long as we remember them. The same applies to absolutely everything, including games. So let's remember it at peak!

Every time I play this game, story, NEST, whatever. I just feel lonely, never would I feel happy playing this game. Walter, Carla and Michigan saw us as a weapon, a merc - but as they saw us more, learned about us. They got closer. Rusty, a true friend, he already managed to know who we truly were in the matter of seconds. He cared, we were his battle buddy, his friend. What made me feel *truly* lonely in this game, was ayre. She met us, and had already seen us a *person,* not a weapon, or a merc. She treated us like we were something worth fighting for to her. She wanted to live - not as a voice in your head, but rather, as a rubiconian. Never would I feel happy playing this game… why? Cos it is simply too perfect.

I had to stop playing for a little when I did the FoR ending. It was after Rusty's defeat before i had to fight Ayre. And what would be the inevitable end for his story burned in the Fires of Raven.

G5 Iguazu, while consumed by envy, hate, humiliation and fear of becoming the worse 4th Gen, he was more strong-willed than anyone else. G6 Red, Michigan's biggest fan. Fuck V.II Snail. While there _were_ outright villains, most of the pilots you were fighting were just people trying to make ends meet and live in the crazy world they're in. Good people caught up in a conflict they had no control over; puppets to others who wanted to dominate. And in the end humanity came to an end. What it became is anyone's guess, but it's fact that 621 converted all of humanity into something else. Good people died for your goal to be reached.
