how effective is the scutum, especially for pvp? if i remember correctly, that one is special because it encourage the user to keep holding out the shield instead of ''parrying'' i wonder if that one has better acs load mitigation as well?

Its VERY strong Also help it has one of the largest area block only followed by Coral Shield the only 360° Shield Theres a reason why Quad Build in Arena use them, ESPECIALLY King the Rank 3 You can even make a build like Quad Leg for aerial with Pulse Scutum for protection, Plasma Thrower for abusing aggresive players with its tap, Trueno for abusing passive players, and Ransetsu Rf/Harris Linear for consistent damage with their tap

It is completely different compared with other shield - yes, it has good defensive performance, but I see two shortcomings. First, you need to hold the button/key to maintain your guard. This limits freely maneuvering my AC. One reason why I avoid excessive charge weapon usage. Second, it only covers you from the attack from front. For example, when it comes with vertical/siege missile launchers, you may have bit hard time with regular shield. In this video, I am relying on coral shield that covers all directions.

@@Aisyren_OfficialI overcame the button issue on pc by just having it on another key bind that easy to reach or just place the key bind on the mouse that has more buttons in it like Mouse button 5 so I can free up my left hand for movement stuff while my right hand is the weapons buttons

The other issue is that most weapons require dropping scutum, meaning another 4s of it being a dead slot. Scutum needs some heavy building around

Is Coral Shield is the only shield that stays on (when holding) when we use left arm weapon?

I do not think so. I think every shield stays on as long as you are holding the button, and firing ranged weapons. When you use melee weapon, you lose your shield.

how are you able to use shield after you get staggered? or is that a specific shield that lets you do that?

I am just spamming the button. There's no way we can use any equipment while we got staggered. As soon as the AC recovers from the stagger, you can perform just guard.
