Armed Guards & Vintage Porsches: El Salvador Part 1 of 3 - /LIVE AND LET DRIVE
J.F. Sends Alex on an unexpected journey to El Salvador to meet a mysterious man named Julio. What does he find? Pump-action shotguns, beautiful driving roads, vintage and rare replica Porsche cars... but these things are just the tip of the jungle pyramid that is car culture in Central America.
Special Thanks to Julio R. Diaz, Guillermo Zaldívar, and Jaime Martínez for helping produce this one. No thanks to all-star cameraman and veteran late-sleeper Tom Morningstar for missing his flight.

I always come back to this 3 part series, I really appreciate Alex, JF, and the rest of the old Drive crew for showing the world my folks homeland through an automotive lens
Stunning trip ! And as a german I loved seeing german cars like the Amarok in El Salvador. Can't wait for part 2, Herr Roy ! Greetings from germany
I think giving Alex Roy (and the rest of the hosts/producers) freedom to do almost whatever they want will result in the best content, since they will enjoy doing it and will put out their best.
thanks Drive, Im a Salvadorian Native, and this made my day like you have no idea, thanks guys
i had goosebumps when the guy was showing his car collection!! man!!!
Excellent, I've been glued to the screen for 18 minutes. Road trips and exotic locations make a great recipe.
Really awsome series from el salvador. After seeing the dead valley ones I really didn't see the point on watching any more live and let drive, but after this two episodes, alex it is becoming one of my favorite series on drive...... Leo is still my man.
Great video! Thank you for presenting El Salvador for more than poverty and gangs!
extraordinary, as always. looking forward to the next episode. very beautiful car collection
Great insight into a gorgeous & often overlooked country!
i love el salvador everytime i go there i feel free. My parents are from there i was born in the US
That was very good. Definitely worth the time to watch. Looking forward to part 2.
Nos this is a road trip. Much better than the previous episodes of Live and Let Drive.
IM FROM EL SALVADOR IS GOOD TO SEE THIS VIDEO REMINDS ME A LOT OF MI LIFE OVERTHERE, THANK U MEN I HOPE U HAD FUN
I went to El Salvador about a month ago. I felt safe----not as much as where I live in the US (California). I would compare El Salvador's safely level to Los Anglels. Yes, cultures were very different, but the people were very humble and kind. I think this video series was excellent. Very informative and fun. Keep up all these adventures DRIVE!
Probably the best non Polizei/Gumball related video I've seen Alex Roy do and I'm glad to see others are finally coming round to him too.
Beautiful work, gents!
This is a great combination of culture and cars. I'm looking forward to Ep. 2

Awesome episode! Drive is so fresh and original on many fronts. Please Drive, if you grow, only grow with money for crazier fun stuff like this! You rock Alex, keep up the great work!
I wasn't such a big fan of the previous episodes, but that one is really awesome, and I can't wait to see the second part of it !

It's more than amazing!
Favorite part of the drive network
Damn this channel freaking amazing.
That's my beautiful country ,love it
I love that Sandeiro pickup!
Nice Video !! Great Country !!
The best episode of LaLD so far
Driving is the most freeing .... I think the word you were looking for is "liberating" champ.
Great Video :)
nice videos.you are welcome in el Salvador............brothers
Awesome video Roy. Huge improvement over the Detroit one, I'm watching it right now on my Xbox and I came here on my laptop just to say how much I like it.
This guy is such a great story teller
awesome...awesome...awesome!!!
Vintage Porsche's caught my eye :D
@Prodriver33 you should always drive with a Valentine One, just in case. If you do most of your driving in town, you can de-program the X Band so you get fewer false alarms in populated areas.
Live and Let Drive is really turning out to be a special series. It's like Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" for gear heads!
Holy smokes, Alex Roy was able to present good content in an interesting way! Fantastic! Stay thirsty, Alex!
@mulham It's coming before the end of the season, don't worry!
Nice video dude..i always like to go andmeet more of the beautiful car colections el salvador has..i think that when u show that life style in el salvdor ..more people get motivated to visit it and feel with more freedom living in a differen country...
Best episode.
Muy bueno amigo. Finalmente something that is not about our social dilemas.
ever time i watch drive it gets better and better
Epic!!
very enjoyable and entertaining episode!!!
I Live in En Salvador, and I enjoy all those amazing driving roads, including the RaceTrack called "El Jabali" in my Volkswagen Corrado =D You have to drive that amazing road by the beach that goes from La Libertad to Acajutla and then go up in the mountains from Sonsonate City to Los Naranjos!!! you can do all that in one afternoon. Glad you guys liked Mr. Gino Vairo's collection.
love his mad up stories, we need story time with alex roy
Just got back from a month in El-Salvador & have to agree with everything you saw... El-Salvador is the most Beautiful Filthy Country I have ever seen & people in the US who think they can drive the streets havn't seen San-Salvador @ 5pm rush hour ! What an experience...
amazing!
Seriously fantastic video. Great footage; interesting stories... Alex showing a less douchey and kind of charming side. Well done. Looking forward the next part... but hurry the f up!!!!
Alex Roy these just keep getting better.
It would amazing if JF and Roy went back now a decade later, car culture definitely booming there, nice car meets and what not. Even more safe at the moment with what president Bukele is doing.
Great Video. Alex show is getting better. But seriously, i cant wait to see the second episode, cause El Salvador is a bastion of car culture. You are chillin with awesome company and meetin great car cars in el salvador. For Car Culture, visit Puerto Rico or Dominican Republic, I've seen more Ferraris, Bentleys and Porsches in DR and PR than anywhere else i have traveled. Plus rgular ppl are fanatical about modding even the most broken piece of junk to race. THATS CAR CULTURE. ps Love Salvador
AWESOME...
I live in costa rica and at 11:00 ish you were talking about using an sti on the roads. A tuner shop here has made a Subaru with coilovers and a 800 Bhp engine and 5 point harnesses in the buckets of the bed and its legal to ride backwards in a cruck with 8-- hp you would not believe the fun that I had. we have amazing roads that everywhere throughout the mountains.
very good!
This channel is really improving fast.
Great episode... i never knew they actually sold GTI in my country new!!
I love when Alex recognises Julio from somewhere before.
Clearly Alex Roy is the automotive version Anthony Bourdain. Drive has the content quality of what I wish Top Gear American had.
Future JF brought me here!
Cool trip, did you notice the moped with the trailer hitch
More live and let drive videos like this one.
awesome episode! that sentra in Mexico its called T-suru and its the best selling car in Mexico. Mainly sold to corporations and taxi drivers I seen on the clock over 600K even the odometer turn over
"Made up history"... Love it!
First 60 seconds are epic as fawk
love the black and white Alex
more LIVE AND LET DRIVE!!!
Wheres part 2 and 3? i love this!!
Man i love el salvador now
amazing
I was born in El salvador San Salvador. Im scare to go visit. But this video has change my mind alittle.
wow!! Amazing and I'm from over there, never thought I seen one man from El Salvador Collecting all those rare cars, $45,000 Dollars got a GTI, God I could get one here in the US brand New for $20,000 and I could probably buy a R32 for $27,000 XD
On a side note. I'm glad Alex finally dropped the blazer and scarf lol
Wow I like this dudes videos does he do this often cause I've seen the one where he goes to Detroit
i still cant belive you mentioned ossining!!!!!
