Hello mr. Lpj.very nice build.thank u4sharing.with sticky greetings. Your modellmate.christian
When I see a plane in Polish painting, it immediately catches my attention. Especially the character of the pilot Stefan Stec. Your video is very relaxing, I enjoyed watching it. I used to be a modeler and I still have a few models, although I don't have time and there are so many projects. It's nice that an Englishman buys a model of an airplane from a Polish company with Polish painting. My first model was the Fairey Swordfish Mk.III Matchbox kult models 1/72. I still watch everything related to this plane. I feel sentimental towards it, as if I was flying it myself 😄.

Thankyou ! I have found this build to evoke lots of pride from the Polish community which is really nice to see and well deserved. There are lots of good people and things to come from Poland !
Absolutely excellent build! Looks great, especially I admire painting of the wing, really nice result. And fun fact - Polish national colours on the tail are upside down, maybe because it was kind of markings, but also maybe by the fact, that plane's paint scheme is from April-June 1919, and Polish national colours were formally established in the way - white on top, red on down part - in August 1919. Before that date, Poles sometimes used scheme now attributed to Indonesia, or Monaco. ;) Also, figure of Stefan Stec, pilot of that plane and "inventor" of Polish Air Force checkerboard mark, is great, he had no moustache though. But nevertheless, whole diorama or vignette, of this plane and pilot, with their very special meaning for Poles, because of checkerboard story, is gorgeous. All the best for You! ;)

Thanks! Thats really interesting info. Love hearing facts about these kind of things. Next time I'll make sure Stefan has a shave. ;)
Let me tell you something. If you can deal with P/E on a 1/72 scale WWI airplane; you have more than just a little skill. Well more than a little. Nice job.

I think that has come out really well. As they say the whole is more than the sum of the parts. I also really like these small dioramas to set off a model. To me the longer it takes the more value you have got out of the build. As for those spoked wheels, I think you might have had an easier time if you had annealed the PE. I use a gas lighter for camping stoves or gas cookers. They have quite a hot flame and just play it over the brass until it starts to change colour. It takes the springiness out of it.

Hi James, that build turned out absolutely fantastic, it was a delight to watch such a small kit come to life, but scalevwis way too small for me, congratulations on a job very well done, bestvregards from a Kiwi living in Australia

I liked that 80s Hotline Miami track you had in the background.
It's a beautiful build James, and I think that on this scale, it doesn't matter so much about the rigging, unless someone is looking very very closely, they're probably not even going to notice that it's not there!

James, every single time I’m watching one of your videos I’m in awe! All the effort you even put into the tiniest details, especially when painting, is really motivating and encouraging for me to treat my models the way they deserve! Even though I wouldn’t consider myself a bad modeler. Also because of you I have given airplane models a second chance. In my teenage years some 15-20 years ago I tried some planes and failed miserably, and I guess I’ll never be a great airplane modeler, thanks to you I’m now able to pull off a finish I can accept! So, thank you very much from the bottom of my heart for your fun, entertaining yet informative videos with your calm but still interesting narration!

That is encouraging thankyou. I had trouble with aircraft when returning to the hobby because things like the fuselage seams and finish are much more unforgiving than armour. I learned more patience with aircraft ( although wheels and tracks are tedious ) that I have been able to transfer to all modelling disciplines. I'm really pleased you find my videos helpful, that ultimately is and always has been my goal, to provide videos of value to people :) take care and happy modelling :)
Great job James!

@@lpjmodels just found after commenting😁 I have a similar wooden planks platform laid on a muddy surface, in a WW2 diorama, and was struggling to find a method to paint them so to look realistically aged and weathered. The environment is a wet and muddy Russian airfield (maybe late Spring time?), so what base colors would you use to start on the planks after priming? Apparently in this video you mentioned any variation of light brown, ochre and grey... Thanks for any suggestion
Awesome stuff, you forget it's only 72nd scale in the final pics, it also doesn't lose the colder feel with the white background, I think it focuses your eyes.

Such a fun build and diorama! Lovely work! Question, what would happen if you wet the VMS smartmud with some water or pva for the first layer to stick better to the base? Never used it but it almost seems like its a bit too dry to stick to a flat surface.
@lpjmodels
4 ай бұрын
Thanks Mikester, the adhesion is pretty good when it's all cured and bonded. I think the PVA might be too wet. Maybe letting it go off a little before putting on the smart mud may help if it was a major concern

I always found biplane models to be....well.....little fokkers to build. Sorry I just had to...😂 It's a delightful little model and you have the ability to detail both objects AND human figures with skill. Some dioramas are let down by poorly detailed figures and animals but you have no problem in that area. 👌

Hey James, i have just finished my fokker 2 weeks ago and i think yours turned out very nice, although i have to say, unfortunately youve made a huge mistake, you painted the wrong wing pattern on top😢 it should be brown sides and green in rhe middle, the one you made is for the german versions

I hope you get better soon, I also didn't rig mine, as it's just 2 wires on the wings and 2 braces on the landing gear struts, also I have to say that base of yours is superb, mine is just a slab of wood and some grass but I hope to add a figure to it soon. Again great build and end result, keep up the good work man!
