ARMA 3 Jet Flight School - From Noob To Pro In One Lesson

Ойындар

In this video you will be introduced to the fixed wings in Arma 3 by my boy Reaper in this 1 hour flight school noob to pro session. You will learn basics of takeoff and landing then quickly thrown into maneuver techniques followed by bombing runs and air to air combat. I came into this lesson with almost no experience in fixed wing and left confident in multiplayer dog fighting.

If you cycle through your side screens (where the sensor/gps/sling load info is) using “[“ and “]” by default, you can bring up a camera that shows your targeting pod view without having to be in the targeting pod. It’s good to have up when a target is locked and you are approaching to drop bombs, etc. This way you have better control of your aircraft but can still watch your target and see it go boom! I keep sensor or gps screen on one side and the targeting pod view on the other side.

I'm completely new to Arma, but I like the gameplay a lot. Just got the game, and watched some of your tutorials and recommendations - really appreciate this video and the one with the helicopter lesson. I went through the game tutorial and tried a little bit of single player action, no mods, so far. I'd love to play with someone with a little more experience to help guide me along the way. I'm located in Europe and English is not my first language, but whenever I'll have time to play, if you accept to play with noobs, I would love playing with you. Will be on vacation until 15 April with no computer access, but whenever after that it would be nice.

When you are trying to lock targets on the ground use the T key. This will allow you to use your tgp/ targeting pod to lock the target. Should go something like this 1. Find the target in your tgp 2. Move your tgp over the target (it should automatically shift on to the target when you get close enough unless the target is not a vehicle in which case it won’t) 3. Hit the t key 4. Fire the missile This will also work with planes but I don’t recommend it since you have to keep your targeting pod hooked onto the plane. (And if you want to be a true milsimmer/ dcs player say rifle. Most people won’t know what the call signs are for weapon releases/shooting missiles or bombs so don’t worry about that too much.) Hmu if you still need help understanding A2G

I was using the R key. What’s the difference? I’m still trying to fully understand everything. I did a little live action CAS last night on our dedicated server and I was having trouble tracking targets on A2G. I think I need to fly further away and and come in from a high elevation diving towards them and use my air brake to slow my roll while approaching. That was my takeoff from the trouble I had

@@ylsgamingR key cycles all targetable objects, T key specifically locks the object you’re looking at. Helps prevent friendly fire in tense fast paced situations that you can’t cycle through all the targets individually if there’s a lot around.

"Most people won’t know what the call signs are for weapon releases/shooting missiles or bombs so don’t worry about that too much." So you are saying that we should start making stuff up and try to pass it off as correct, right? See how ridiculous you can make the callouts before someone calls you out.

17:26 the active radar blue cone shows your max range, 16.0km is the max distance of the actual radar circle and the cone falls slightly short of that, so it's roughly 15.0km range on active radar. When on the 16.0km distance setting the various circles inside the radar display are 4km, 8km, 12km, and then outer ring is 16km, so it gives you a rough estimation of distance of targets before you get a lock on them.

When landing in the Black Wasp, there's also a helpful glide slope indicator for landing, it's the little black box poking up from your instrument cluster that has yellow circle, with red and green arrows above and below it. Regarding the bomb guidance, it finds its way to the target using the fins, so the adjustment to the laser guided target is only within reason, you still have to aim roughly in the direction of the target, not too far away that it can't reach, and not to close that it can't adjust its course in time and overshoots, it's fin assisted guidance, not magic. And the big circle while in targeting pod view is also not the predicted target of the bomb in dumb fire, that's the direction the nose is pointed, what you want to pay attention to is the crosshair below it, big circle for the bomb is only valid in the main HUD.

Hey man, can I ask what your PC spec and your Hotas is? I've been playing arma 3 antistasi on my laptop for almost 500+ hours for 20-40 fps. I plan to build my own PC after I graduated uni. Thanks in advance.

I’m running a 8 year old build on a gtx1060 and an i5 8600k. I did recently upgrade to 32gb of ram which helped a lot and I also run arms from a SSD. It’s a mediocre build but it runs arma quite nicely. However I was also playing arma on this build at around 30fps until I researched on youtube about how to optimize your graphics and get more fps. My fps went from 25-35ish to 60+

@@ylsgaming Thanks for your reply man. And may I know what kind of flight stick did you use currently? Since in my country there are less people who like to play milsim game, flight stick like Thrustmaster, Logitech and VKB are a bit expensive here. So I hope an entry level flight stick like VKB Gladiator is enough for Arma and DCS. Sorry for asking a lot of question, and Thank you.

@@Ryan-op5fw I have no problem with someone asking questions! That’s what we base our whole discord community around. I use a Logitech saitek x52 flight stick and throttle. It’s a 10 year old joystick that I got second hand for quite cheap. It has made an excellent entry level HOTAS for me.

@@ylsgaming Air to ground is easier done in jets like the Wipeout and Neophron, high altitude bombing when you're not dealing with fog is absolutely fine in the Black Wasp but ideally it's a really good air to air dogfighter with good ground attack, while the Wipeout is tailored for air to ground combat with only minimal air to air capabilites, it's much slower but that just makes it easier to target ground assets.
