Belakor v Vashtorr is the kind of fight that I both wouldn't have expected but also would love to see

While also a vault full of artifacts. I think the issue is the Rock its something that has to keep moving. But if it has a massive fleet following it it'll be found much easier. But yeah the rock isn't having a good time

I've been waiting for this story since the preorder went up. Vashtor definitely has his work cut out for him with the Dark Angels, their paranoia will definitely aid them for what's to come, whether they succeed or not is a different story

Really enjoying all these updates you do - don't care about the rules but want to know the story!

These battles always sound so epic, but then I remind myself that they only entail a few thousand marines, lol. GW's schizophrenic sense of scale is an interesting beast.

On the one hand, it is a little disappointing that in his first major battle in the book with his name on the cover, Vashtorr loses. On the other hand, the catalyst of him losing being Bel’akor running in to body him because the big guy can’t stand the thought of him getting a leg up in the Great Game, is absolutely hilarious to me.

That is assuming the Dark Angels have been playing by the rules and keeping their numbers no higher than 1000. Also, I thought I read somewhere that the Primaris reinforcements Gulliman was handing out like candy took some chapters above codex strength?

I always figured the Exile King was a reference to Big E. With the fact that he's been exiled from the Materium, with the Cicatrix active it fits with the "roamed further afield by the day". Edit - Also, realise I've left a wee comment trail as I've been power watching, totally not making digs Ian, just more throwing my opinions oot there.

If the Imperium wants to total claim victory in this campaign the best thing to do would be to tell the Orks that everyone, especially Chaos is fighting 'arder than them. A few good WAAAAGGHH!'s would sort out Vashtarr pretty quick.

I really hope this ends with a 5 Daemon army that would be so cool also the dreamer could be I can't remember the exact name but a demi god called mallice who is like the embodiment of the 4 god's fighting

I think they're probably fairly pricey just for lore. It's kind of why I like these videos, all the lore and none of the crazy GW pricing...

Hmm. Depends what you like. There's about 30 pages of lore in each one - a pretty sizeable proportion of each book. But it's written mostly in a codex-like style rather than a black library novel (from a historians perspective rather than 'in the action'). The story is essentially what I've described here in much more detail.

I like to think that the Legion of the Damned are the Awakening Emperor's daemons. I guess only guys like Dan Abnett know for sure, and they aren't saying 😄

Nice one, I'd quite like to read these but as far as I know no one does scans/pdfs and I'd rather shit in my hands and clap than pay £30 a pop for them.

Um... It sort of looks like Arbitor Ian is being projected on to an image of his normal studio. Did he go too far in revealing the secrets of GW's lore? Has he been replaced by an agent of the Inquisition? Or has he been replaced by an operative of the Alpha Legion? Or has he been replaced by the cyborg assassin responsible for bombing the trade delegation uphive? Whatever the case, did Arbitor Ian discover something in the lore that he shouldn't have?

He did mention in another video having some work done on his regular studio and so using a green screen to create the impression nothing had changed while the work was completed.

To be fair, 1) he went toe to toe with Belekor and held his own (at least for a while), and 2) the whole point of the storyline is Vashtorr wants a massive power boost.

Well, Vashtorr himself expected that the other forces of chaos weren't just gonna sit by an do nothing. Plus he has already achieved victories elsewhere, so overall dude is like 2-1, so not too bad so far.

So Bel’lakor can control shadows and darkness, huh?? Honestly I was thinking that it could of been Corvus Corax, disguising himself as Bel’lakor who has spent all this time in the Warp getting stronger and Creating his own renegade faction of anti-chaos astartes… But from how you explained, that cant be it, rite?? For a while now, ive been questioning how and where these Darkness/Shadow warp powers originated from… Because it isnt just the Big-E, Corvus Corax, and Raven Guard Astarte’s that are using them. As The Drukari Mandrake, residents of Commoragh, are also able to easily shadow slip. Having seemingly mastered their use of these darkness-arts before The Primarchs where created, possibly even prior to the Fall of the Aeldari all together… Even Necron Flayed-One’s possess some of the shadow slipping, in that they somehow make use of its ability to teleport from battlefield to battlefield on different planets around the galaxy. So Maybe Bel’lakor is the originator of this power, and why Drukari Mandrakes can use them without succumbing to Slaanesh. But it doesnt explain how Necron Flayers can use it to teleport underground from planet to planet…🤔

Maybe if GW focused more on developing a playable tabletop game, and less on writing stories that keep getting more and more out of control as different writers try to surpass each other, they would have a brighter future.

I'd argue that the reason the company does pretty well is BECAUSE the IP and the models are the focus and not the in-game balance.

@@ArbitorIan You are probably right. But many of the fans, who now love the IP, are people who got into the hobby through models and game. Like you, maybe? Definitely was that way for me, starting with Rogue Trader. Now GW is a bookstore with additional income from licensing the IP to computer games. Meanwhile, the rules for the game has become so complex with different armies and factions and special rules, that even semi professional gamers on KZread repeatedly need to check the rules for their own army, having a real hard time understanding their opponents rules. And the models are very costly. Will that sustain the fan base?

While I know pronouncing his name like "A Bad 'un" is correct, I still can't stand it. It just sounds way too corny.

Not only absolutely NOTHING interesting happened in the lore ever since the blackstone fortress. Belakor is the most boring ass character in the chaos rooster, a demon whose gimmick is being demon like and have demon powers... Who the hell writes such borefest stealing the vastly more interesting Vashtorr thunder. Alphas have no characters in 40k need use them, use Cypher heck there is even a fallen angel demon guy with a revenge plot use that ffs.
