Blue Archive has some of the best chibi models in gacha games imo. Very expressive and adorable. Gameplay-wise, it's sort of an auto-battler style game. Your team consists of 4 strikers and 2 supports, and you can control their EX skill activations and place their AoEs, but your units will auto-attack and move between cover on their own.

Now that you mention it, you have a point there! The chibis really are expressive! O_O I LOVEEEE IT EVEN MORE NOWWW!!!! AHHHHH!!! Ooo, that's quite nice. I was a bit worried that we would need to control maybe one or multiple to attack and cover during the round, but the fact that we only need to focus on activating their skills and where to attack is quite nice!

@@Trailblazer_Ririna it's a cafe, random students will visit and you will have a chance to give them gift, and by doing so it will unlock some special relationship stories, you can either decorate your own cafe or, if you don't have time to, the game have some preset layouts (as long as you grind enough furniture), each student have a unique interaction with a certain furniture and it's very fun to see that happen

Lots of love for Blue Archive lately. Shiroko is the poster girl of the game and the blue haired girl with pink highlights is Arona, the game's mascot, who plays the role as the Operating System of Sensei's tablet. For some story context, yes, the girls have halos. Those are what give the character's their durability to withstand bullets as well as any superhuman abilities they may possess. While they have high durability, that doesn't make them impervious to damage or death. The setting is in a place called Kivotos which is described as an Academy city with many Academies within. In terms of the story, there are 4 main academies: Abydos (a School populated only by Shiroko and her 4 friends who take it upon themselves to pay off the school's massive debt), Millennium Science School (A technology and Science based school and also one of the newest schools), Gehenna (A school where most of the students have demon traits, as such, the school has the most chaos and anarchy) and Trinity General School (Taking inspiration from Christianity where most students have angel like traits). There are other various schools like Shanhaijing (Based on China), Hyakkiyako (Based on Japan), Red Winter (based on Russia), Valkyrie Police academy (The general Police force), SRT Academy (Spec Ops), and Kronos School of Journalism. There are others, but they haven't been touched on much in the Global version of the game. Kivotos itself is run by the General Student Council. Sensei works for an Independent club within the General Student Council that largely has autonomy (with certain restrictions) to act as an advisor throughout Kivotos. For Gameplay, the game largely plays itself. Player interaction is more tactical based in choosing when to use a student's EX skills. They will attack on their own and use their normal skills as soon as they are able to. You have 4 characters on the field and 2 off the field. The main goal is building the best team for any given piece of content so you'll want the best combination of damage dealers, tanks, healers, support, etc. Each student has different attributes that can make them good or bad at any piece of content. Students have terrain ranks that modify their stats based on terrain type as well as attack types and armor types (this is like a Rock Paper Scissors type effectiveness). Types of weapons (Pistols, Shotguns, Sniper, etc.) have certain attributes too, but those are largely trivial and not exactly worth considering in most cases. For costumes, there's not really any costumes for units themselves. Thus far every costume is it's own separate character with different skills. Most costumes have to be obtained from the gacha, though some have been rewarded as welfare/free characters. Relatedly, the gacha's not terrible, but it is far from ideal. You can guarantee a banner character in 200 recruitments. On Average, for a free to play player, that's about once every 2 months when all the permanent sources dry up. The base 3* rate is 3% and the rate for a Banner character is .7%. Every Anniversary and half anniversary a Fes banner (With the banner character being a very good character) will appear with double rates making the 3* chance 6%. Many people save for these because it's a great time to not only pull an amazing character, but to also fill out one's roster with missed students. You mentioned events, thus far, the current pattern is that events will rerun a year after it happens and then will be immortalized on the following year. Immortalized events are freely able to be done on your own time. Around this time is also when limited units related to the events run on banners. So far, the only student that has not received a rerun is Miku (The To Aru characters may or may not suffer that same fate, no one's sure on that just yet). As A fun bit of bonus trivia, the Bunny Chasers on Board event saved this game from fading to obscurity. After it's troubled launch in Japan, that event garnered so much attention (largely from Asuna and Karin) that it completely revitalized interest in the game and was able to propel the game to where it is today. Anyway, I think this is a big enough essay. lol. Hope you enjoy the adventure if you decide to become a Sensei!

I guess I'm reacting to Blue Archive at a good time then! So that's who Arona is! I had a feeling that Shiroko was the poster girl, but had no idea about the mascot -- or if she was a playable. XD Makes me want the halo for my own safety~ But then again, maybe I don't want to be in that world in the first place. hahaha And thank you for the explanation about the schools. I'll probably need to review your comment after playing it for the first time as a refresher though since it's a lot of information to remember~! But so far, just from what you told me, Kivotos sounds like a very interesting city. Makes me curious about the other aspects of that world! So I guess for the gameplay, it's more important to learn the weaknesses/strengths of each character, along with the terrains, in order to understand what teams to put together for each terrain and win. I can see why it's more tactical in that case! I really should save for the FES banners then after I roll on the newbie banners. At least, judging from the percentages you gave and what pity is like! Woahhh, now that is quite an interesting thing to learn! Who would have thought that bunny girls CAN save the world? I mean game? That's true! And they seem to have multiple versions of the same trailer, so it gets difficult to guess whether it's a different trailer or if it's just the same thing but shorter. Thankfully, I just had some sensei's join my Server and they checked over the playlist, so I was able to record all the ones I missed in the next part reaction video today!

​@@Trailblazer_RirinaIts basically an adaptation of the 1st volume of the game so far. I think minimum, you can just play the prologue of the game to get context of where the show starts. Or you can do all of volume 1 to see how they adapt the source material.

I thought that it was a cute, lighthearted game until I saw that. I was soooo shocked since it was extremely different from the other videos!

I’m glad you digged the vibe! Game’s really cool! Some of the questions you had: Game is half a visual novel and half this semi auto rpg. It’s kinda like xenoblade where characters auto-attack and you manually activate their special skills at the opportune moments. As for the story and world. The girls with guns and their halos gets sort of explained. But it’s not really depressing per se, it does have a lot of emotional moments for sure but for the most part it doesn’t leave you with a pit in your stomach. Hope you like the game, looking forward to more videos!

Hi hi~ Are there CN PVs that are not available in the JP ones? Thankfully, some new sensei's that joined my Server today helped me find the rest of the ones I missed (mostly the JP ones), so I managed to cover those for the part 2 reaction video! But hopefully, there aren't CN PVs that are not found in the JP ones. That sounds really nice! I guess we have an advantage as F2P in that sense~

If you want a basic explanation for Blue Archive, imagine that reincarnation is a thing and all humans are reborn as different animals in each of our next lives. Now imagine that reincarnation also happens for Gods, religions, and supernatural creatures, and in this particular afterlife they’re reborn as schoolgirls with halos. They’re practically unkillable so everyone casually wages war mainly just for fun. It’s incredibly crazy, chaotic beyond belief, and at times super serious and tragic. The community and devs are also very degenerate, passionate and based. If you can find yourself clicking with the comedy you’ll absolutely love the story in this game.

Don’t know why I’m just seeing this reactionary post for BA’s PV’s. As someone that’s been playing the game since GL launch, it’s rare to find a F2P gacha game like Blue Archive that is super generous, and gives off wholesome vibes with its amazingly likable characters on top of the fantastic character design and the music. But anyways wanted to point out… 10:13 Thankfully you can head pat every character’s L2D in the game.

@@Trailblazer_Ririna Hm, out of curiosity. When you start a new gacha, do you re-roll to get the best starting team? In the case of BA, if you consider re-rolling, the best starting student(s) to have at the beginning are: -iori -Haruna -Hibiki -Himari -Ako The characters above are often recommended to get for newcomers who are Rerolling. iori/hibiki are pretty much one of the more useful AoE atk unit(s) in the game. Hibiki makes early/mid game content a smooth breeze. And then there’s iori who is used throughout early/mid/late game. So that’s my recommendation on that reroll aspect. Definitely recommend if you get iori as the start-up character, you are pretty much set. On a similar note. Idk if you care about “meta.” It goes without saying that most of the “fest” banner recruitments often are quite meta. Anyways, as you can see the community can be quite helpful when we aren’t meme-ing around, we love to give advice for newcomers. If you happen to put out a VoD for your first time BA experience, I’ll be glad to see it and give out more advice, like all of the other sensei’s here, lol. Best of luck Ririna sensei. 🙏🏻

@@maroXUprising Oooo, that's good to know! I... actually never re-rolled in a gacha game before. So if I were to re-roll, this would be the first time. For now, I'll remember Hibiki and Iori with Iori being the higher priority. Hopefully, I'll remember by the time I play next week Tuesday. haha I only care about meta if that's what is needed to clear the content without too many issues. Once I have a set team that can handle most situations, I only roll for characters who I wish I could have as my family member (aka I wish I can adopt)! So that can be the imouto type, the onee-sama type, the mama type, and so forth (since this game only has females, so that would be what I would look for).

Remember Sensei its all just Sunshine and Rainbows All Sunshine and Rainbow......

Shiroko is the "poster girl" character for the game. I'm partial to Millenium myself, Yuuka and Noa ^^ Gameplay is good (its something you can easily pick up and drop) but I really stay for its story which is awesome. It has a healthy balance of slice-of-life, melancholy/sadness and hope-triumphs-above-all all rolled into one. As for the gacha: rate up is a lie XD Pull for whoever you think is cute. OML, that sounds like a dream come true. RESPECTS MY TIME and GENEROUS WITH REWARDS... I'm gonna cry from happiness. Seems like a joyful game -- or maybe not, joyful, but a wonderful game to dive into!

Events have rerun in one year, and in the second year become "immortalised", so you can access its story and get event characters, but you can't farm it Exception - Miku colab with no rerun. Onother colab (with Railgun) ending today, i'm not sure about rerun of this one. next 6 weeks will be "dead weeks" with no actual events. we have story update and then Decagrammaton, which can be counted as event, but it's a special case, like side story. btw there will be 3rd anniversary at ~23 July with double drops rate banner and some amasing event. About depression - don't worry about this. Scenes from 4pv 32:48 - it's like possibilities of bad/good ending. There is drama at some moments but it's absolutely not the major line of the story. i'm pretty sure devs want to keep their story at bright side.

So after the first rerun, it's in the game permanently... from what I can understand, right? The only difference is that collab events don't get reruns, while the non-collab events do. That makes a lot of sense though! In some ways, I'm glad that they have "dead weeks" because it gives a lot of breathing room in that case. Woah, the 3rd anniversary is coming soon! I guess I am checking out the game at a good time then. Looking forward to checking that out when the time comes~ This game seems like a "feel good" story from what I'm getting from people's comments. Makes me relieved actually since it's nice to balance out the lighthearted games with the heavy ones!

@@Trailblazer_Ririna no, events become permanent after ~two years since release (or another year since rerun). it's another dead week when event banners have rerun and event story become permanent. also some banners from old events was moved to new events. but it's only basic version of characters, do not know what they will do with event alts. btw there is no skins in BA, alts are counted as separate characters (with absolutely different skills). so you can have up to 3 alts of the same character in the same unit.

@@Trailblazer_Ririna for today 6 events are permanent. but main dish is the main story. hmmm... there will be some stages in the main story you have to beat with own characters (starting from Vol 3.3). not sure how hard it is for new acc, but i think 1.5-2 month acc with ~40-50 lvl team can do it.

@@Trailblazer_RirinaIt takes like a year until the events become available after their reruns tho. The latest archived event was that hot spring one. Also I hate to say that the Hatsune Miku event is not available there. Basically all of the story in that event was in her relationship story. So you to have her to actually view it. The rest of that event was a rhythm game.

1. It's actually 4 frontlines and 2 backlines 2. We have student variants not skins. Like Shiroko have her Cycling and Swimsuit version as a separate character (which you can actually bring together in one party by the way)

I seriously did not expect THAT of all things. Some of the images that appeared in that PV reminded me of some anime that are hella dark, so it really shook me to the core. Such a turn from the rest...

Game does re runs so much after the 2nd rerun it get archive so you can play the STORY any time. At least it also give the welfare student from it. And right now is on collab with the Index anime series.

So about sensei's design, there is no "canon" design for sensei, every official adaptation makes a new look for them and in game they never show them, nor directly call them a guy(atleast in the jp & kr versions), that's why fan art has a bunch of different interpretations of how they look. As for the game itself, it's pretty light hearted and while there is darker moments, things usually turn out all right. I think that's why it blew up in japan, most gacha now tend to go full edgelord for their story's, so a gacha that does the opposite ends up standing out. I'd say if you do try it out, that it would be a good idea to try and atleast beat volume 3 to see if you like it or not story wise, since that's generally what people think is the best story chapter alongside volume f.

Oh, I thought that sensei had an official design. XD I guess what I saw was one of the adaptations then. Funnily enough, I think that's the reason why Blue Archive stood out to me. For once, it's a game that isn't full edgelord. While I do like those full edgelord types, sometimes, I just want a slice-of-life type of vibe (or a relaxed vibe) in the games I play, so this was refreshing to see! Gotta have more of a balance, after all~

Yes Shiroko is the main girl, don't change your thoughts even if someone told you otherwise or after anything you read in the story lmao Blue Archive story is fun and silly, most of the time... It's like the reverse of the Arknights story, that's all I gonna say The 4th PV shocked the fandom so much when it dropped, I also cried a little when watching the PV for the first time Unfortunately, there are no skins, so these versions are pull units. Thank god they are pretty generous. For example, for every half-anniversary banner, they double the 3* pull rate (3% -> 6%) and give away 100 free pulls. Which are usually the limited gacha banner and meta. Also, the banner spark is 200 pull It is made by a Korean company, devs, and author. But the story itself has heavy anime/otaku culture references, heck the Japanese version was released first then the Korean and global versions were released 6 months later Some events are replayable and you can get the free unit from the event albeit not very strong. The events story seems canon because although not very relevant, they are mentioned in the main story,

Haha will do! I really do like her design~ Ooo, so it's pretty lighthearted then for the most part. Might be a good change in tone, but looking forward to the darker moments as well~ THEY GIVE AWAY 100 FREE PULLS?!? Holy... smokes... That really is generous! It's interesting how they released the JP version first before releasing the other ones. Super exciting that they refer to a lot of anime/otaku culture though~ Also, really liking the fact that the event stories are seemingly canon and that they are replayable! Very nice for F2P players then!

@@Trailblazer_Ririna it's actually hit so hard when the usual slice of life (with guns somehow) changed to heavier tone, but it give chance to shine for many type of characters in many different scenarios. Compared to FGO and Arknights, Blue Archive main stories are pretty short. But I guess it's my fault to pick both of biblical length gacha story Also kinda forgot because I take it for granted but The OSTs are bangers

@@Trailblazer_Ririna yeah I know sometimes simple and straightforward is good, not saying Blue Archives main story isn't complex, they rather choose interesting way of story telling to shorten it. Most events are definitely simple though Sometimes the story arcs or events in AK and FGO can have 5++ hours, heck some may have 8++ hours BA main arcs are usually under 5 hours, and most event stories can even be shorter, sometimes under 1 hour

@@manoi8 I can't believe I'm going to say this, but HURRAY FOR SHORTER CONTENT! Finally, a game that truly respects people's time... Under 1 hour for events... and under 5 hours for the main story... My gosh, I'm gonna tear up from this with happiness!

They have event reruns (except the Hatsune Miku collab) and after some time they make the event permanent so new players can experience it

Kinda. Lore is very vague. As snyone in the city is a robot, a bipedal furry, or a female student with halo. So the halo is more a marker for "students" Which in itself make one wonder how the goverment really works. So is more like the writters liked the idea and keep it vague on porpuse toroll with it

Ahhh, so that's what it is. Got it~ Then I guess I can look forward to picking up the lore bits in the story!

I have played Genshin, Honkai, Frontline, Azur Lane, Arknights and a few other Gacha games. And put ALOT of hours into some of those... Ultimately, I have put in far more time and return far more often to Blue Archive. The character writing is overall superior and the story got me more than once; in both happy and sad ways. I feel a better connection to the characters and the world of this game and that can be attributed to the writers and artists. It is probably the only phone game I have ever full recommended to anyone. And I stand by that recommendation. It's a great game. (Sure wish there was a PC version that wasn't on an emulator tho.)

Gameplay is alright, but the story is where it's at. Not sure where you got the PVs but there's quite a bit missing, namely all PVs for Vol3 and the more recent events like Trip Trap Train or Railgun Collab. Volume 3 and Volume F (4th PV) are extremely emotional and build on many parts of the previous volumes which make it absolutely amazing. You can jump in and start reading story right after the tutorial (they removed the gameplay limits) except one fight they forgot to nerf in Vol3Ch3 that requires an account level 40 or higher to comfortably beat. Otherwise you can clear pretty much all story related content and read without interruptions. Highly recommend, it's one of the only gacha games that I find consistently bring tears to streamers' eyes and watching the reactions are extremely entertaining. Lots of key moments in the story worth replaying for the reactions alone. Do implore you to give it a read.

Haha yeah, I didn't have many sensei's to check the playlist before! But the next part should include the rest that I missed, since I managed to get more sensei's to check the playlist on my Server today before recording! It's really nice to know that I can jump into the story right after the tutorial, aside from the one you mentioned needing an account level 40+! A bit worried about that part, but I guess it should be fine! haha Definitely looking forward to playing it on Twitch and then releasing the edited gameplay videos on my channel~ hehe

@@Trailblazer_Ririna The leveling system is tied to stamina burned, lv40 is like 3 weeks of natural stamina gen. Good part is that the game has a sweep feature that instantly burns all stamina if you already 3 starred the stage. Looking forward to the youtube uploads after as I'll most likely miss the Twitch streams due to work. Ganbatte new Sensei!

There is depression in the story but the most important is the hope and miracle triumph all! Im crying in the story not because how dark it is but when character got their hope, miracle, salvation for them, when that happen its sooooo goooood that im crying. And Millennium is the best school dont forget that!

@@Trailblazer_Ririna I would say 80% of the game is about light hearted comedy school life stories (it actually funny, even some serious moments could be turn to comedy gold right after), the depression parts just make us appreciate the fun and sweet time we spent with our characters more. Also the writer won a prize for mobile game story last year so that's mean something

Game is more parodical than serious. Its has its serious moment, but mostly the idea is "take a steriotype and roll with it" So caracteres are mostly flat,but the event are fun to watch/read Gamplay is kinda fun, essy yo learn, but need a little brain to use to the max yet progression and character stats has some "gates" or ranks for things, so unless you know the in and outs you are kinda stuck in progression until you grind enough. Yet, the game allow ample farming and thing to do. I reach lvl 50 (middle game) by rushing in 1.5 months. So is very permisive. Recomendation, do NOT get more than 50 student initally, that way you can focus resources, as esrly on everything but high tier is expend in seconds. Music is a banger, people has been using it more and more around youtube.

@@Trailblazer_Ririna it was me as well :) there are some vids it's done on lvl 35 with very basic characters, but it's sure hard try. it's nowhere said in the game, but there is a penalty for level difference - you lose 2% of damage for each level you lower than an opponent. so another week of leveling and a bit better equip will do the trick. ps: do you really replying to all comments? thats rare

There's no skin in Blue Archive, there's just a alter like character (same character but different clothes etc)

@@Trailblazer_Ririna Just for your information, if you a new player to Blue Archive at first your gacha luck is good it's easy to get many 5 stars character in just 10x pull, 20x pull but when you already hit high level account the gacha will be worst lol every player atleast saving for 200x pull in case if you don't get the characters you can buy the characters in the shop/banner
