I'm new to Board and Card gaming and certainly older than most, so figured these kind of activities are good mental exercise, not to mention the enjoyment they bring, especially at these times. Your play through's are excellent and having played these first 2 scenarios myself it was a good to see someone experienced in this type of game play it. It made me realize that I should not be agonizing over decisions to use what card when and what not, and just play it. Anyway just wanted to say thanks, and I'll be watching more.

Thanks for watching and commenting! Totally agree, I sometimes feel I overthink ... but it’s a game, and in Arkham you’re not always going to win (or that’s what I tell myself). Have fun and stay safe! :)

Just so you know, getting 4 cultists from Midnight Masks is considered *very good* -- especially considering that you were using 1 Core Set (and so playing with a very inconsistent deck, and especially with very few 2-damage weapons), playing on Normal (the game *ought* to advise new players with a single Core to play on "Easy" (which is still quite challenging), but doesn't), had to deal with the Ghoul Priest, had a lot fewer XP to work with (due to missing a location and the Ghoul Priest), were playing true-solo (which is often considered harder in general, but is especially true on a fairly-big map to explore like in Midnight Masks), and missed Roland's ability for the first half of the scenario. Well done! As a note, in case you did not realize this later on: when buying a higher-level version of a card, you need not replace the lower-level version in your deck. A deck can have 2 of any same-named card (unless specified otherwise, as with Exceptional cards), so for example you can have 1 Beat Cop level-0 AND one Beat Cop level-2, for a total of 2 Beat Cops. (This is most important when playing with a single Core, as it lets you actually reach that 2-of limit for better consistency. With a second Core, you could have 2 Beat Cop(0), OR 1 (0) and 1 (2), OR 2 Beat Cop(2).) (As a strategic note, I would never recommend cutting Emergency Cache from a Roland deck, since he generally uses expensive cards, but doesn't have any other ways to generate additional 'money' to help deploy his cards quickly and get on with the choppy-choppy-pick-up-clues phase of the game.)

Really enjoying the play through of the Arkham horror's game. Love the art work of the cards and I'm definitely thinking about adding this game to my wish list 😂.

When the agenda deck advances, you’re supposed to remove *all* doom tokens, even ones on cards in play. So at 18:30, the doom token should have come off of the cultist card as well.

@gabriel domingos Glad you are enjoying the Marvel Champions playthroughs! I think I've done two campaigns of the Arkham Horror card game on the channel, hope you enjoy those too! I haven't purchased much more since someone else in my game group has gotten most of the stuff, we have been playing multi-player. Things go bad in this game solo and multi-player, and we all have less sanity for it. :)

Interested to see how you do with this chapter solo... I found it extremely hard playing solo with Roland. I had a VERY lucky second go at it with Roland and Daisy and managed to get four of the cultists. Killing the Ghoul Priest in the first chapter makes this one a lot easier. Good luck... watching.

Thanks! It's always good to have a partner in crime, or while investigating, but as a new game to me, it's easier to only have one investigator. The nice thing about Arkham Horror in general, I don't expect to win and don't mind others learning from my mistakes. :)

Should the Stubborn Detective card be counted along with the enemy cards in the scenario card group, or should it be counted along with the basic weakness cards?

He made a mistake on the night of the zealot, Roland get a clue when you defeat an enemy, The Ghoul in the attic that he defeated he should have pick up the clue but I think he forgot about that. He did it again with the ghoul priest he forgot to pick up a clue.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but when you took the “Cryptic Research” card during upgrading your deck, isn’t that a level 4 card? Roland can only go up to level 2 in that class

Good catch! I'd forgotten all about those restrictions after getting started. For some reason I was thinking initial deck construction for one-off adventures instead of for the campaign. Now I know better. Thanks! :)

Hello, how many ACT cards does the Midnight Masks have? Only one, with Act 1a and 1b, ou does it have act card 2a / 2b ? My game came with only 1 Act card for Midnight Masks.

Can someone explain why at around 10:00 mark when he is attacking the Ghoul Priest for the second time, he has 6 combat and was able to do 2 damage? Hadn't he already used his machete in the first attack?

Machete is not exhausted when used, so you can reuse it for the next Fight action. It's one of the best weapons in the game. Some people think it shouldn't be a level 0 card.

Good Video! We're playing with 4 players and didnt manage to succeed the campaign yet...! Not sure, but at 33:35, did you add the Masked Hunter since you are in Agenda 1? He is at the back of the agenda 1 card.

Where did you get your accessories that you're using in the game? The stands, capsules etc

How did you have both the house in play and Lita in your deck? Depending on outcome I thought it was one or the other. Also, what trey's are you using for your setup like character cart and agenda decks?

One option allowed me to keep the house and gain Lita ... she wasn’t happy with me, but joined anyway. As for the trays, they are uberstax - check out uberstax.com. Happy gaming!

Funny, you seems ti succeed 8 out of10 skilltests. I only successed 2 out of 10 even, if I have a standard to have my base boosted with 2 or 3. What am I doing wrong?

Retaliate only triggers when the investigator fails the skill test when attacking a ready enemy. Hope that helps. :)

Yes it is. Hero and encounter decks are similar, but the added randomness of the chaos tokens really makes it a harder game. :)

I'm quite curious what your thoughts are on Arkham vs the Marvel LCG.

I'm hooked on both. For multi-player, Marvel seems easier for me to get others to play, but Arkham has a much better story with campaign play. For solo play, it just comes down to time ... Marvel is easier to get to the table and is made for one-shots. Time may change, so for right now, I'd give a slight edge to Arkham for the story and campaign play. I'm very curious about the Big Box Expansion for Marvel to make give it a campaign option. Have you played both? Which do you prefer?

I was obsessed with Marvel for a solid three weeks - daily plays and thinking of how to best use the aspects with different heroes - until the SUSD review pointed out the min-max math side to playing Marvel and indicated that they preferred Arkham. I bought one core - - - then two - - - and then the whole Dunwich cycle and have been LOVING it. I will keep up my Marvel collection and I eagerly await the Big Box to see if it mixes the two as deliciously as I expect (hope?) it will.
