Arken Optics NEW ZHD312R teaser

Following hot on the heels of their unveiling at the 2024 British Shooting Show, here I introduce two of Arken Optics' latest day and night scopes, the ZHD312R and TNC225.
As sunset rapidly approaches, first I mount my ZHD520R on my Krait, to scan our front lawn and trees, including ranging the first tree and a shed.
I also demonstrate the ZHD520R ranges down to 10m, whereas the wider angle ZHD312R ranges down to 5m.
Then I mount the BRAND NEW ZHD312R on my Krait, to scan the same views, showing the lower-mag' / wider-angle view from this new shorter-range scope.
Following this I'll soon edit and upload another daylight video showing both scopes side-by-side (sync'd), observing objects from 1 5km/9 miles, down to 5m.
Also more exclusive footage coming soon, with the stunningly feature-packed TNC225 multi-spectral scope.

Definitely some image blur/noise? Around and above the reticle, but I think we also have to understand the difficulty of digital imaging in low light conditions? I'm extremely interested in the Arken products though and keen to see more in-depth reviews on the quality of the night vision and thermal capabilities! Keep up the good work Russ, informative and accurate reviews! 👍 Thank you Wayne.

Awesome video. Can you remove the laser range finder? I love my 5X Zulus without LRF because it is compact and light. I hope Arken continues to make scopes without LRF because not everyone needs LRF or already own one. Size and weight is one of the big selling features of Zulus.

@@RussDouglas222 It didn’t seem to be present on the first scope. It also seemed to have blurring around the reticle whereas it didn’t appear to on the first one. The other aspect is that the edges on the tree were in sharp focus. As you say, could simply be down to KZreads compression artefacts. Don’t think it was a result of moss though.

I’ve been waiting for the 3x12 for ages but Arken have let me down as there not offering it in standard scope as a sub 12 air gunner I don’t feel the need for LRF & ballistics calculator I think these are for powder burners not sub 12 . Very disappointed indeed

  • @RussDouglas222

I'm guessing there's not enough pf a market for the non-LRF/BCL version. It's actually more sub-12 airgunners than powder-burner FAC users that will benefit from the LRF/BCL, due to the loopier trajectories at our relatively lower power levels. I've only recently got a sub-12 .22" PCP due to the LRF/BCL benefits of the Zulus, compensating for the trajectory. Thanks for watching, cheers. Russ
