love that song even though I don't live in Arkansas
I can’t wait to move back to Arkansas soon. I left when I was 22 but my family and I will return and contribute to the home state, the local community, and its economy. Arkansas provided me an awesome childhood and I must let my children experience it, too. I see Arkansas in the future and it’s shining brightly.
A friend played this for me a couple weeks ago, I had not heard it in 20 years or more and I was knocked out by the nostalgia! At first I was like "wait, what is that? I know this!" And then I was singing along, I couldn't believe I knew the words! Then the tears just started rolling! Haha!!! It's such a beautiful song that has so much heart.

Why is this literally how it played out for me too? Lolol. 870 here for life!!! This song makes me think of my grammy. Such a beautiful piece with poignant lyrics!
I'm a arkie half a world away. I knew this tune from channel 6 (out of Mtn View) I'm so homesick. This tune brings tears to my eyes.
I used to stay up late when I was a kid to see this song come on.... I miss those days!... This song is in my blood! Thank you for posting it!!!!!!!

I also left my town of Flippin Arkansas in 2001 and still living in Calhoun, Georgia now. What part of Arkansas were you from? And what part of Georgia did you move to? @@katherineallen2015
AETN used to broadcast over into Oklahoma and I too would listen to this wonderful song about Arkansas. As I lived just across the line in Stilwell I went into Fayetteville and such often. I've always loved the people and the hills of Arkansas. I'm a fullblood Cherokee btw, and I too get filled with emotion when I hear this wonderful song that takes me back to a wonderful place in my life.

I posted this video, but truth be told, I live in Oklahoma too, a little south of you in Sequoyah County, just across the line from Fort Smith. But I feel Arkansas is just as much home to me as here. I remember hearing this as a kid (in the 80s), because we got all of our TV from Fort Smith/Fayetteville.

Huntsville Arkansas here.. Arkansas will always be home. I always come back. Even after 3 years in LA.
I videotaped this song and took it with me to Dallas when I went there for school in 1994 - along with a copy of 'This is Eureka Springs: America's Victorian Village' and 'Lights, Camera, Branson!' (They were giving them away at Silver Dollar City.) It was the first time in my life that my zip code wasn't going to be 72764 and I knew I'd be terribly homesick for the Ozarks.
From Louisiana, Arkansas is a beautiful place. Nice people. Great song. Lived there seven years. Great memories.
I love that song the last time I was there I was in elementary school and I took a trip there with my late grandmother on a Union Pacific train. She went there to visit her family and we had a great time together that was an experience I will always remember herloved
Born in Harrison AR, moved everywhere but I always find myself home in Arkansas! I consider myself blessed to be from there.
They have changed the video several times over the years, and even added a verse, but i still get chills when i listen to this song and think back to growing up there as a kid. I am still trying to get back there today even after living in dallas for the past 17 years.
Home sweet home! They played this song before television went off air at 1am
I saw this so many times on Channel 6 when I was growing up 10 miles out of Batesville. These days, I live in New Hampshire, and this song always brings a smile to my face. When I was a kid, I had no idea the chorus would resonate with my life so much.
Brings back so many memories.. This is when you knew it was time for bed. The T.V. would got scribbles & static! 👑Wes👑

I was born in Tillamook, Oregon but I live in Oklahoma now, just 10 miles from the Arkansas state line!
I used to stay up late every Friday night, just so I could watch this video and hear this song lol
For some reason, I like the footage of this version better than the 2010 one.
Like the old Alan Jackson song says, "There'll never be another place in this world that I'll call home."
Where is the version of this song that showed the Razorback running into the end zone??? I was thinking that it was James Rouse, but, it might have been run Dickerson…??? I know that I’m not just making this up in my head. It used to get me pumped up whenever I was a kid.
That bit at the end: the end of an analog era.
Much love to the state of Arkansas from Illinois!
Omg I remember riding that railroad when I was a kid that was down around reader. That railroad was the one they used for north and south book one the mini series
This is still as magical and beautiful as it was all those many years ago :)
I remember watching late at night, I was maybe 11 or 12 Im 30 now. Yes it brings back memories.. Wonder why they dont run it anymore?
Same here! Home state love Arkansas!
This song is my most favorite song
What great memories this is for me!!
@sheasy2002 I am the same way, this wonderful song certainly showcases the State of Arkansas like no other song can! It has all the ingredients that brings back memories of those glorious days of our youth...Arkansas..you run deep in me!!
Ahhh childhood, love it!

I was born and raised in the Missouri Bootheel. Believe me, we identify with Arkansas. My parents were born and raised in Arkansas so my roots run deep in Arkansas. I am now living here. Great place to live.
Pbs, put this on cd and the video on dvd and I'll pledge $500 right now for them both. I go to pbs.com and search Arkansas, I get nothing but just crap on Bill and Hillary. Also there needs to be more Neil Degrasse Tyson on pbs as well... Thanks
Sometimes I know what the southern boy felt regarding the War between the states. I love my state (though I was born in Miami FL) I love my state and I'm not sure what I would do if the question were ever posed to me.
I love this song!!! Who sings it? I remember watching this when I was a kid! I love Arkansas
