Roleplay servers is where it’s at! I play on Twitchrp (they’re about to launch a brand new season), but Roleplay servers can fluctuate and offer a variety of preferences. So I’d say have a look around forums, websites, Reddit’s and discord’s to find the one that’s right for you.

It was actually sonys fault due the fact that they didnt want an unfinished game on the store, so i guess you could blame wildcard for not working faster. Oh and its got a December release date for ps4 bud so that might make you a tad bit happy

When this dlc came out literally everyone wanted to play it and it became the #1 game on Steam at the time.

At first it's all fun because they have other people in the server and it looks epic but in reality when you go on a private server with your friend its all lonely and go online you always get raided.

You know i see alot of "Oh the developers scammed us" comments here but hey, Let me just play devil's advocate for a moment and put out a counter-view on the scenario: Yeah it costs 20 dollars but what exactly defines "early acess" in all of this, I mean if you paid extra in the beginning and got to play the game early as a supporter and the main games content never stopped getting churned out so you all technically got what you paid for while this is an entirely new map with new resources - tools & dino's etc (which you can add to your existing game if you want for *free* anyway as a mod if you want to alter the current maps and have an insane amount of micromanagement in terms of items) So in the end all they are really asking for is paying for a map with an entirely new gameplay structure to add variety to the existing base game which also defines the word "DLC" really, And to not alienate players you can acess everything but the map for free..Did we really get screwed over?

Wow. It seems like a new game entirely. I think I read somewhere that you have to beat some difficult bosses (can't solo) before you can access the new world even if you've bought the dlc.

Dlc when the game wasnt finished or not, everything about this map from the trailer to the music to those god forsaken sandstorms is amazing and i frinkin love this map. Sad the more annoying bugs at the time couldnt have been ironed out before it came out but his by far is the best ark experience i have ever had

People who have issues about performance.. Well this is definitly a high end game eating up your machine. U have to consider this when talking about fps as well. It depends on several factors, Your hardware (pc rig) and your monitor. Having the wrong monitor will limit your fps as standard. Anyway there are also things u can modify in your graphiccard software to optimize the game. Also ingame settings u can tweak it there as well. Also it depends if u are on a pvp or pve server how important fps really is. For me on pve u can get away with less fps for better visuals and opposite with pvp . Every frame counts =advantage over your opponent. Also it depends on if u are playing singleplayer or multiplayer , how populated the server is and also how many structues there are built . The more structures equals less fps of course. I love ark.

+Power StaticX Infinity (HQ) the optimization is infinitely better than a year ago. I've never changed my settings, and I've gone from 20fps to 50-60fps just from their updates

I agree with those who say that the Scorched Earth DLC adds more variety to the game. There are plenty of reasons why: - New map - New places to explore - New resources - New creatures - New food - New things to craft - New Explorer Notes - Plenty of other new things - Has more challenges (which most people enjoy, like me) I love this DLC so much!

I personally like this DLC the most, I appreciate Aberration went without fliers for an extra challenge, but I like fliers. So SE is the perfect balance of while being more difficult then living on the island. Early on even in Single Player you have to take into account that Wyverns can randomly spawn and waste your base. Ragnarok is a great map as well and offers you the biome diversity, but a lot of things on the map in my opinion make it easier. Free crops in the highlands with Equus roaming right next to them. Free clay already made up on certain beaches (let me tell you I would love free clay right about now on SE even though I have a good system in creating it still a pain though), crates that can possibly hand out metal tools to new survivors.)

@@hyperdoge3908 Funny enough I have been really giving Aberration a go in the last week and I am quickly falling in love it. I am finishing out my kibble farm in the Green zone... kind of wish I made it closer to the border of the Blue zone and then I want to make a main crafting base in the Blue Zone. I decided to play a single player game on all Arks and start in Aberration and only transfer out once I get a Rock Drake and then come back after beating the bosses on the other maps to do Rockwell. I think it is becoming my favorite map even though I love my fliers and T-Rexs. The map is just well designed. I just wish they let you use Tree Platforms since you can put sap collectors on the large indestructible trees. I would still make cliff platforms regardless. Maybe it was a decision also made factoring PvP. As for Extinction it is ok. It feels unfinished as hell and at least on Xbox has horrible textures in some areas when rendering in the environment. Snow Owls are one of my favorite creatures though and are insane if bred properly.

@@sonicemitter6131 For a very new player, I think that The Island is a great map with the right amount of difficulty, I play mostly single player since I work. People often leave it because it is the very first map in the game. Aberration is very difficult especially for new players and it is hard to leave that map and use the transfer function (in PvE it is fine you can use a loot crate I think) but single player you need the Obeslisk in a very hard area of the map. Scorched Earth is the 2nd hardest the environment will punish you quickly and when I started out I was dying to heat waves and then there is a chance that once in a while a Wyvern will randomly spawn near your base. I had that happen and lost everything I didn't build in stone and adobe and it killed all my tames that weren't indoors. Also not to mention Sandstorms can also wreck you if you aren't prepared for them. The Island has it's challenges but it can help you gain experience so when you go to the harder maps you won't waste time not knowing what needs to be done as you progress. Also the Island has 4 bosses to take on with one of the bosses the Overseer being considered one of the main bosses of the game along with Rockwell on Aberration and the Alpha King Titan on Extinction. So even if the Island eventually gets a bit easy once you master the environment you can transfer or build up to fight the bosses. There are two other maps Ragnarok and the Center that are both great maps but aren't part of the core expansions. I recommend them after you at least played a couple of the core maps for a while. Ragnarok is one of my favorites but if you are an experience player you can take advantage of the way the resources are distributed and the higher level curve of the creatures.

I remember not knowing how to play this dlc. So i had to start back in the island so I could understand, then moving back into the DLC map.

4 years later and im still waiting for a yt tutorial on that village...

Best ARK DLC

Watching this in 2018, even though I played the hell out of it, it still gets me hyped up. >___
