Scorched earth is my favorite. The lore, the dinos, the landscape... it’s all beautiful. I want Wildcard to make a polar opposite of SE. I want them to make a place focused entirely on the cold instead of the heat. With Ice Wyverns, perhaps Feathered Wyverns, and maybe some other thing. Cheers, Survivors!

@@darkc1oud923 I loved the theme the game used to have. And SE still retained it, even if it had more mythological creatures. It's just not the same anymore.

For those who don't know, they lost $40 mill in a lawsuit, which is why they pushed this out and charging $20, and to be honest, on my PC where I barely have any issues, it's worth every penny.

Can confirm, I was irked about this as well but heard about the do-not-compete lawsuit and saw the reason. Bought the game and loved it, especially how I can interchange my main server. The map is also FAR more challenging and enjoyable, I just don't care for it as a main map but I can set up a base there and bring stuff over to my main map (The Center) It's the best of both worlds.

They've included a few creatures from myths and folklore Is that really so bad? Just look at the bosses in base game Ark, they're pretty much ripped from myths, media or ideas, not actual creatures or animals Sure one of the main selling points of Ark was the survival aspect, enhanced by the dinosaurs But by throwing in a few mythological creatures, they're only expanding the directions they can take and go. Not like it ruins the game.

Spent some time playing the full DLC today. Had a ton of fun with it! Honestly, the amount of content this game offers from its base edition alone is more than most AAA $60 titles. They already gave us Survival of the Fittest as a free add-on, as well as monthly and even fortnightly updates at times. Even if the game is still in Early Access, considering the amount of hours of entertainment this game has offered me, I don't have any issues with paying the extra $20 for this DLC.

ive never forgotten how the music of Ark did shake my core from the very first time i heard it, and now, after 5 years, even a fragment of the soundtrack just shakes my core again.

What you're getting for $20: An entirely new map. New gameplay mechanics. 10 new dinos. Ability to transfer those new dinos onto another map. Many new items. New boss. "ARK is early access" "ARK is an EA game that's bare bones" Yes, it's EA and it's bigger, more polished, and more expansive than most AAA titles costing 60 dollars. No, it's not. If you were around when this game first came out, and you stopped playing for 8 months like me, jumping back in now? It's an entirely new game. So much has changed. Over a dozen new mounts, new biomes, new bosses, new items, changes to existing dinos, massively improved FPS from optimization. You spent 30 bucks on this game, this massive game, this game that takes multiple days or even weeks to explore everything, gather everything, and tame/kill everything, and even then you're still not done. You spent less than a AAA game, and got something bigger than most AAA games, and you're bitching they're charging for a 20 dollar DLC that's at least as big as most AAA games.

I agree with you completely and love the new dlc but you still can't deny the fact that paid dlc for a game still in alpha is very cheeky. Especially when the game director said that all dlc will be free too (in an interview before the alpha was released).

+Northern Master I agree him going back on his word is quite cheeky, and improper, I will absolutely concede that. I find it hard to consider this game to be in an alpha stage seeing as they've gone far and beyond what they said they were going to do before full release. at this point, I see them keeping it in alpha almost exclusively to do bug fixes and that's all. I believe they said they were aiming for around 80, and they currently have 93, with another 29 left to be put into the game. I don't think they expected this much success with the game, and are simply expanding on it to their hearts content at this point. I can certaibly see where the complaints are coming from, I simply don't agree with them from my perspective.

You guys should add small towns of NPCs like Minecraft did. Real players don't make nearly the effort you do to have those cities and what not and it would be cool to see people living in these Worlds you create. maybe on rp Pvp server type?

it matters alot about the settings of the server you play on. you can improve basicly every gather rate means less efforts for citys like this and this citys shown here are for pve servers in pvp servers they are differnt cause you need more defense possibilitys :D

gotta admit, this is the most impressive dlc pack i've seen for some years from any game.

Honestly though I ain't even mad if the dlc cost money. This game is fucking awesome & the devs worked really hard for this so of course they deserved to get something out of it. But great job ark devs!

You know, because 1 It´s an unfinished game. How in the hell could someone think that this is a good idea? Paid content for a base game that isn´t EVEN finished? Bod optimizations, still some lack in content... There are tons of reasons... 2 This trailer is prerenderized in-engine. Things WON´T, EVEN look like this. Just look at the scene when some guy flyes that dragon between mountains. Not even a collision? Neither overlaps? This is just a joke. And they are trying to get your money in a lame way.

Considering how much they are adding for bout 20 bucks, more so than most games I've seen out there, I say it's worth it mate. And what's so bad about pre-day 1 DLC? Especially with Ark. Aside from optimizations, which, I agree is annoying, I feel the game has done enough to justify itself for the original 20 bucks I paid for it. (Got it on sale)

I love the trailers you guys do for this game. The dino spotlights, the ads, everything. Even if the game were terrible (which it's not; I love it!), I'd have to concede to your awesome advertising skills. XD This is probably my favorite one so far!

What is with all this hate? The ark decks only charged you twenty freaking dollars for there game! They could have easily charged 60 or at least 40 like most other game companies but they didn't! And news flash! Making a game requires money! So stop acting like little privileged whiney kids and be thankful for this amazing game they charged us so little for

Well all in all when I got ARK on xbox one it only cost me around $20 for the base game. Now I have bought this expansion pack for $25 which brings it up to a $45 which is far cheaper than most games out there and has more content in it too. Overall I don't think it is that much they are asking for.

Naw it shouldn't be added, at least not in that way. All this new creatures like dragons and the like heavily rebalance the game and completely change the tone. It might have been better as a free DLC like Primitive+, but don't change the game in a way that not everyone will want for everyone.

I honestly don't get the hate. This is completely 100% optional so why are yiy whining about extra content? Besides this is SO different from the core game, with tools, mechanics, monsters, area's and buildings that this is practically a new game. So only paying 20 for this is really justified. It's like how it's always been with expansions, in the good old days. I think some gamers really are so spoiled they don't even wanna spend anything more than 20 anymore.

Lol lets not even talk about optimization, easily top 10 worst performance according to everyone, with my rig I get 30-45 fps on high so it's playable. This looks amazing, I didn't even realize they were developing a DLC alongside Ark, 1500 hours in Ark: SE and this game still draws me in, what make or breaks this game is finding the right servers to play on with a great community.

The center was just a map.... correct The center was an absolutely beautiful map. However it did not add on dinosaurs or weather effects. Honestly though I have 1k hours in game and I paid feck all for the base game... €20 more for this... hell yeah!

Dinosaurs then Dragons? Amazing! Can't wait to find out what animal would be next.

I know you can start from scratch. But what about playing it as a continuation after beating The Island? How do you get from The Island to Scorched Earth?

You people are funny. "don't release dlc's before the game is finished" "Finish the goddamn game first" You do realise those a 2 completly seprate teams working on this right? Theres only so much people can do at the same time. So why not let the others create something optional while else they couldn't do anything anyway? Have you seen any slowdowns on updates? "yes i have idiot" Yeah because all the content is almost created. Now they're working behind the scenes on optimizations and DX12 Support. Before you critisize. Use your brain and consider you'd be crying and playing minecraft all day if it wasnt for these awesome people creating this game. Thank you devs!

How has nobody noticed that those dragons look literally exactly like the ones from Game of Thrones? I have absolutely nothing against that, I just really hope they do not get sued. Otherwise, I love how they look!

It's not "generic" dudes. Look at the amphibian fin-like structures along its body, the shape of the head, the wings, even the way they move. It resembles GOT way too much to just call it "generic".

I think you are misunderstanding, GoT did not come up with the dragon design they use, there are plenty of pieces of art and film that have the same design, these dragons have existed in that form for several decades.

If you care to read my comment carefully before responding to it, you would see that I have pointed out very specific features not present in the majority of dragon designs.

I honestly think it's fine if they add a new expansion pack. I've bought it and I'm having loads of fun with it. Just think of this as a way for them to keep us occupied while they optimize and add things to the main game. If you are seriously upset over this, you are very unappreciative of what they are doing for us.

Dear developers, first of all release FULL VERSION of the game, you game is in EARLY ACCESS and you just released PAID DLC? Are you all out of your minds? Please first of all release full version of the game, make the map BIGGER, atleast 5 - 10 time bigger than "The Island" is at the moment, I would suggest you making map with big islands and HUGE OCEANS and SEAS inbetween them so UNDERWATER CREATURES will NOT be useless like they are in current state. I want all the current biomes, including this desert to be part of single map which I explained above. No gamer wants to PAY for DLC's, look at Overwatch or CS:GO, you pay for the game and then you NEVER have to spend single € to get new DLC's.

I do not like playing on unofficial maps. At the moment most of the servers are running on map that was engineered year and half ago although they are adding biomes and few other things to it, I want them to work on bigger map (which i explained above) that will replace "The Island".

Full version of the game includes content in this paid DLC. Clearly they want to lease the game to us after we bought it.

I don’t think you could get the wyvern eggs unless you get them and run where the wyvern can’t fit (if your a starter)

What they think we want: Ark II What we really want: Scorched Earth ascension What we NEED: Fixes to bugs in the game that have persisted for years and even though this game has been fully released for THREE YEARS (jesus it's been that long?)

Isn't this game still in early access? What the hell are their priorities? The AI needs work, frame drops, unless you have some kind of ludicrous rig, and there are still bugs for all of the vanilla maps... Fuck it! Even the Primitive + OFFICIAL mod could use some love! Is there no road map? No official list of things you guys want to add in ANY sort of specific order? More patches and fixes would be lovely thank you.

Can someone please reply! So I got the new update of ark on Xbox one and it has the other game ark scorched earth but in the game ark survival evolved there's a map called scotched earth what does this mean does it means that I got THE MAP AND THE CREATURES?! Someone pls explain without being dumb

I thought they released the dlc to get more money to make the core game better (more updates).

Please tell me that this is connected to the main games island and not a totally separate map

It is a whole new map but you can use Gateways to travels back and forth from the main "The Islandmap" and this new desert map, taking your new items, and dinos with you.

What I love the most about this trailer is the remix of the ARK theme. It sounds much, much better in this - it sounds more "desperate", and has a great vibe of survival with it.
