The vast majority of Americans want abortion to be legal. the taboo is when does the independent vs mother have more say, cancer's/parasitic-ie-worms or sperm get 0 despite being able to grow thankfully personally im not for mid/late term killing's, currently hart-beating/brain-activity/human-form is the point of no-returning ( 20~ week's total for early or 9m for regular care/contract, might get shorter as medical advances happen ) and finish-carrying to adoption/state's-care or starting parenting-choices/20-year-contracts agreement , Alabama had some intriguing ideas if you ignore the religious ( judgment was poorly written as it violated religious separation vs governmental ) view, it might make adoptions at egg-stages/ivf and or early-enough 9week's~/baby-womb-transfer's easygoing as then there a process for getting out of the contract but also allowing care and for someone who wants to parenting/carry/contracts etc yes im for birth control methods like condoms ect, no to eugenics and or mother deciding on race or gendered-ect ( my 1980's/90's mother killed 90% of her XX in womb/late-termination kid's and contemplated for XXy and or forced surgery's to male-roles 👎 ) being used some of this over-laps elderly care and state-wardened's/incompetent, and kinda gun-carrying/smokers/drinking law's and or free-zones

Some birth defects, like the child not having lungs or a brain, so they won't survive after birth, is a valid reason for what you're calling late term abortions... Also, the mother's health may be negatively impacted just carrying the baby that won't survive to term. Not all pregnancies are safe or low risk... And risking her future fertility shouldn't be mandatory, to birth a baby that won't survive after that birth.

The author of the 1864 law was William Claude Jones. Jones was a “prevaricator, a poet, a politician and the pursuer of nubile young females,” according to a 1990 article published in the Journal of Arizona History, which appears to be the most comprehensive biographical report published on the life of the 19th-century rogue. His second wife was 12-years-old. New Mexico’s delegate to Washington, Miguel Otero, was bothered by the union. He “declared that the bride was twelve years old,” Finch writes, “and that Jones had ‘abducted’ her.” Otero petitioned President James Buchanan to fire Jones for the moral failing, but Jones resigned instead.

I love the comment by the Arizona Republican... that they considers all life sacred... LOL. That's some serious BS. They are 'fighting' for the unborn... but as soon as they are born... then aren't all that important. Gay and trans children and adults... not really that important to Republicans either. Immigrants and their families... not important. Non-Republican citizens... not that important. Non-christian citizens... not that important either.
