This video was so fun! I don’t spin and I know very little about the process, so it was very interesting to see all the steps. Thanks for sharing!

I like "Andean" plying more than a plying ball. I made my first attempt at it with just my hands, then the next time I DIYd a tool with a book and dowel, and nowadays I have a little "jasper the plying ghost" tool that I use !

Thank you for sharing your spinning journey 💕. Wow. I ended up spinning along in the early hours of the morning with my new bobbin spindle with merino and bamboo blend🥰. The first spin I did on it has so many pigtails and that was even after I washed it! I have yet to ply it into two, so that should be interesting.

"fulling" the yarn when it's wet could help with all that extra energy, as could thwacking it a good bit.

Thanks for the vid, always enjoy seeing your beautiful works of art. I hope your skating comp went well! I find that when I rewind my bobbins into a cake and then ply I get better results then when I ply straight from the bobbin. I think (but not an expert) it's because I'm plying the yarn in the same direction that it was spun instead of in the opposite direction which is what happens when you ply straight from bobbin, because you are starting with the end of your single instead of the beginning. But I have always done multiple cakes to ply with. I think plying from one cake you would end up going in one direction (with the spin) with one ply and against the spin with the other ply.... if that makes any sense. This might have been part of the pigtail issue? Just a thought 😊

This was such a fun video! I loved seeing your process throughout the whole spinning adventure and appreciate your comments/feedback on what each step was like for you. I'm interested to learn about the different fiber types you spin and how they rank for you (spinning, plying, knitting, wearing, etc.). Also, is there any chance we could get some spinning ASMR with the ladybug??
