I had my Ariat roughstock boots for almost five years. They still look brand new to this day. Great boots for everyday life.

Ok for trail stuff?
Ariat is my favorite boot brand thus far. Thanks for your videos.
These were my first boots and my favorite boots, Glad you reviewed these since these were the ones I went and picked out once I found your channel!
Absolutely love my roughstocks! Broke in right away, and look great with any pair of jeans I own.

Epic! Glad to hear it
I got these Boots for riding about 2 years ago. I love them. they are a great Stirrup boot, almost made for western riding. The narrow square toe allows for easy movement in the stirrup while not cramping your foot like an R toe might. The stiff ness is also good for leg position in the saddle. I feel like the boot helps me keep my heels down more than my old Sedonas did. They are a little wide, but that's actually helpful, specially on colder days in wool socks where my feet might swell a bit, getting on and off a horse all day. For a Chinese boot meant to get beat up, they're pretty good.
love my Ariat Heritage Rough stock boots!! These are the brown oiled rowdy model. The heel is 2 inches high. I cut the heel down to 1 1/2 inches. These boots are available in B widths!! I take a 12B. These boots are comfortable walking on concrete!
This were my first boots and still wear them! Going to buy my next pair of soon and these boots helped to know what my needs are.
Bought a pair of Ariat Roughstock Patriots about 6 mos ago, and they have become one of my favorite boots. I downsized from 12 wide (my usual) to 11.5 wide at the salesman’s recommendation, and for the first week I thought I had really messed up… the boots were definitely a little tight at first. But after breaking in and stretching some they fit great. Very happy with the quality and comfort, and the embroidered flag looks great on the shaft. I look forward to wearing these for many years to come.
I just received my first pair of ariat heritage roughstock boots today and I absolutely love them
Love my Ariat Heritage! They were my second pair of Ariats and a great addition!
I want to say I’ve had these boots at least 10 years. It’s was my second pair of boots. I now have 4 pair and they are in the best condition.
Just bought my first pair of cowboy boots at Hanson Grain Justin Stampedes, super soft and comfortable right out of the box. Great store and great people
Great channel. Found it by accident and really enjoy it. I have a work pair of Ariat’s. I forgot which one.. Not the Workhog but similar. I LOVE those boots. I need back support and my Double H killed my feet and back. Then I found the Ariat with LR4. Wow. They were a little tough to break in, mostly the sides of my foot. But still pretty comfortable. Once broke in, I wear them as much as i can. Ariat ASTM F2892-11 EH
I ordered a pair last night. Looking forward to comparing mine along with the video!
MY ariat roughstock felt fine on the first insert in to the boot and they feel great, I wore them right of the bat and love them.
I have these and really like them!
Im fixing to buy a pair, I love the style and I'm quickly becoming a fan of ariat boots
Just bought a pair of these boots to replace a pair of Justin’s that I’ve had for over 7 years…. Those were $100 at tractor supply and my wife paid $180 for these so I’m hoping once there broken in I’ll get years of great work and style out of these boots!! Keep up the incredible work!👍
I love how you do reviews from different stores that sell cowboy boots. I live near Boston and had no idea these places even existed!

You should visit when the pandemic is over. They have a great selection!
One of the best boots I’ve owned
I have this exact same pair and it took a couple of wearings for them to break in across the instep. They are a heavy boot, but you get used to that after wearing them a while.
i LOVE the thickness and rigidity of ariat
Got me a pair I like them alot
I have had mine for about 5 years now they are really comfortable. mine also say made in mexico on the inside.
I bought these few days ago.. Fit great, feel great.
I have the Heritage Stockman women’s round toe! I love these boots! I’ve been wearing them everyday, even with shorts! They are literally my new all times wearing boot! They are cheaper made, but I really love them! They fit perfect! I wanted them to kick around in. I don’t want to tear up my expensive boots.
@JeremiahCraig

I get it! Love the round toe look too!
Have these boots my 1st pair in a long time I like the heavier leather there going to last very comfy.
I have the (now discontinued) round toe version of the Heritage Rough Stock boots. They are definitely stiffer than other boots, but they do eventually break in. They will never feel like "slippers"- as is often the case with thinner leather-soled boots. But I have no doubt that these boots are bomb-proof, and will last a long time.

Had mine for two years welding and I’m wearing them right now
Only took a few days to break my boots in. It took longer to get used to the 2" heel than it did to break them in. Good dubbin works wonders.
I've been wearing Ariat roughstock for about 10 years. To be honest, the boots are heavy, but in a good way, the sense of solidity coming right through your body whenever you are walking or standing. The rubber sole holds up very well, the leather upper are prone to scratches and scuffs. I'd done lot city-walking with the Roughstock, it's do-able, will give your legs a good work-out. Had different color combinations, the one in the video (brown leather) is most durable, had a green black leather pair, the leather got cracks after 1 year wear, likely due to the tanning treatment. I'd say stay with these traditional colors :D
I bought a pair of these about 10yrs ago( I don't wear cowboy boots much ) wore them a few times and my Gf threw them in the basement and molded. A few weeks ago I pulled them out and sprayed them down with vinegar and water, wiped them off and they looked brand new. Then I put some saddle soap on and then some mink oil and they really cleaned up nice. Better than new. These boots are really comfortable and mine aren't even broke in all the way yet. I am really happy with these and will stick with Ariat!

Love my Roughstocks! However, they do take a bit to break in. I have the Brown Oiled Rowdy color boots. They have a great spur ridge, if you want or need it.
I have this boot and yes it does take a while for break in. I throw these on for for outdoor activities such as fishing and have held up pretty well. I wouldn’t buy these again just because of the saddle vamp; which wasn’t necessary for my use and IMO it would look better without it. The narrow square toe is why I went for the boot!

I have that same boot and yes the leather is very stiff and takes awhile to get broken in, but once it’s broken in it’s comfortable, although I didn’t take care of mine with cleaning and conditioning and the leather did crack where your foot bends.

These are the pairs of boots I've been looking into getting.
I dislike China, but I purchased these boots. The quality seems to be on par with other brands. They did it really nice job with his boot.
what do You guys use to keep these boots looking new, well protected and supple?
Can you do justin boot with the soft sole? One that's water proof and electrical safe?
Which of the two has a more narrow opening the roughstock or the striker???
I have these exact boots. They are incredibly comfortable and multipurpose. Size 11 fit spot on. I get heavy comments, but mine are so comfortable, i don't really notice. Mine are Chinese.
@JeremiahCraig

Nice!!
Could anyone tell me how well spur heel straps fit around these heels?
Mine broke in took about two weeks they keep they’re natural form after the process
I’d love to see an extended test on these
so if you want a boot from ariat that has a softer leather is the ariat cyclone rancher boot. for me the leather at first was really soft and took about a week to break in. just a suggestion.
How is the sizing on these boots should I just order my normal size?
Good review. I just got my pair but have nowhere to wear them yet since I'm social distancing and staying home. Maybe I'll oil them to help the break in period.

Good idea. Stay safe!
I'm on my second pair. I bought the first pair in 2011, made in Mexico. The second pair I've had since just before Christmas, made in China. The Chinese boots are good looking and comfortable, but not near the quality of the old Mexican made boots. The Mexican boots have now become my "good" boots, Chinese ones everyday kicks. Another company that got popular, and saved on labour rather than raising the price, sacrificing some quality. I was kind of dissapointed. Next pair will likely be another pair of Boulets.
@JeremiahCraig

Hey @jeremiahcraig I have a narrow foot as well and can’t decide on my size. I have a pair of ariat ropers in a size 7 should I stick with that?
Do you happen to know the heel height difference between these and the heritage roper. I always wanted the roper until I saw these in the bar top lower with the black upper with orange pull rings. I’ll be living in them (my main footwear) so I’m not sure I want to high of a heel.
My first Ariat boots I have tried. I see why folks like them and globally they have done so good. Wish they could make more in Mexico. So far haven't got snake bit and can still whip my weight in wildcats wearing these boots. And also has good traction. The gila monster seems like it's preoccupied and wants to follow me around when wearing the Heritage Roughstock boots. Its interesting when it sees me getting out of the truck when wearing these boots. Tough boots so far. Maybe one day I can meet Beth Cross and tell her thank you!🤠👍
Gotta love Herman survivors and ariats I'd say Ariats are probably better for a dress boot even though they got great quality

@JeremiahCraig

Finding a comfortable brand is different for everyone since they all use different lasts to build their boots so I recommend trying a few brands. For quick break in time under $200, I would try Boulet (search for sales for under $200), Los Altos, Justin Bent Rail, Laredo, or Dan Post
I have a pair, had em for a couple years, tried to keep em clean & wear them occasionally to break em in… but they are super uncomfortable, Poor balance & the insole is uncomfortable- I put them on again today & within 5-10 mins my back & knees were hurting, Went to a boot store, Tried on another Artist style & it was uncomfortable as well. My previous pair of Justin boots were very comfortable, but after 7-8 years they are just worn out. I try to keep 3-4 pairs of boots in rotation, keep one pair for dress or work, And another for outside labor & for horseback riding, But my newest Ariats have really disappointed me.
Should use the same size that I wear with my tennis shoes I have a pear of all black pair of Cody James cowboy boots that are size 12 and yes I wear size 12 for tennis shoes
How slick is the soles of these boots, especially in rain, mud, snow, etc?

Does anyone here have experience with the Ariat Sport Outfitter?
@bradanderson5494
4 жыл бұрын
I don't have the Outfitter but the Ariat Sport line has lots of overlap between models. I have numerous Ariats in my collection, including a Sport model. Like Jeremiah, I actually really like the 4LR insole, which is their entry level one. The outsole is durable and lasts a long time. My biggest complaint with the Sport line is the cloth weave lining in the shaft. I suppose it could be valuable if worn in cold weather but can get uncomfortable in warmer weather. They are certainly the warmest pair I own. For ~$150, I think the Ariat Sport line is a good value.

The longer they take to break in the better and thicker the leather

I’ve examined these boots at the local Boot Barn and I must admit that I dislike the wing-tip style design on the vamp. It looks ugly to me.
I absolutely hated these boots and I wanted to love them. I loved the way they looked on my feet but after close to the 60 day return period of wearing them around the carpeted area of my house the leather hadn't budge a hair. Most uncomfortable boot I've ever tried. And looked like after they would break in they'd probably fall apart a few months later. As always great video.
Anyone have jean recommendations for western boots? I have a pair of wranglers but they look baggy.
@soulfirez4270
Жыл бұрын
body shape makes a huge difference in jean selection , Wranglers are usually pretty good maybe buy a size that fits you better , they do a slim fit boot cut .
This boot is a outsole glue style not stitched at all. Then the heal has a bolt going through it so you can not resole or reheel or anything. The leather is tough as shit but as soon as that sole or heal go you need a new boot so it’s like wear it a year and buy a new pair. Good beginner boot for wearing or working in them like I do. These will last
