The fact it took her soo long to win a Grammy is the whole reason why i dont care about the recording academy. If it sounds good and you can relate to it and it resonates with you, then it is a good song/record/album.

she's right though. it's a nice recognition but it shouldn't be a driving force for making music. a Grammy doesn't make a song/album bad or good. A LOT of good and successful songs/albums don't have a Grammy or don't even got a nomination. it's a tough competition.

When she talks i can feel her pain. She seemed like she was on the verge of tears. Humility comes with pain. So anyone who talks so down to earth like that has been hit hard and now sees the world for what it truly is.
