The air date is irrelevant to the fact that Alan Carr is perhaps the most extreme example of all the various traits and features that make British chat shows so brilliant and entertaining. And it can be very shocking for Americans to be dropped into a furnace of literally everything that is forbidden on American chat shows, especially if they haven't already dipped their toe on a show like Jonathan Ross or Graham Norton.
