    Agree 100% with everything you said. Wish more of my tanks were on auto water change and still regret it to this day. Of course there are a few other considerations that need to be made such as electric, insulation, heating the room vs individual tanks, etc., but your advice is solid. Thanks 👍

    You must have been think of me when you did this … which is why I am moving my "Frankenstein" setup in my bedroom to my garage! lol I agree … with continuing to expand, my biggest regret is entirely manual water change. On the positive note, I am always checking my tanks cause I have to since no auto change. But it IS getting harder and harder and I continue to research ways to customize a autochange system.

    I started with one tank 2 years ago(75g). Went high tech planted March 2019. Spent a lot of time researching with KZread. Bought 15 tanks July dollar per gallon, drilled out most of them. Ran out of money and bought what was necessary, air driven filtration, drain system with sump pump to laundromat sink. 55g drum, pump, drip emitters, pressure gauge, auto water change system perfected late November, last light bought early January along with last substrate. Your vids and info made my fish room dream easy. TYVM! My tip is to add drain access in designated areas towards front of bottom tanks to help with gravel vac and use a mesh bag with a strap to catch solid waste.All you need is a T joint, pipe, elbow and maybe a end cap

    Terry Hutson I’ve been having some trouble with my drip. The the hose attached to the jhemco drip emitters keep getting air in them and the drip stops. Any suggestions or did you have this problem

  • @terryhutson4671

    @terryhutson4671

    Yeah, I had a lot of issues at first with the drip emitters. The pressure gauge helped me correct it. If pressure goes to high like over 40psi the emitter will collapse inside its self and clog. I had to switch to 5 gph emitters to drop pressure under 40. Once I added more tanks to the system I was able to put 2.5gph emitters on the smaller tanks. The pump seems to work best between 20 and 30psi.

    Great video the only thing I would ad is a large maybe 500 gallon underground tank for sump pump to drain into .Then you can use tank water on lawn or garden.Try tofu feeding for your fish ,shrimp and snails,extra firm works best cut or crumble for different sizes. Pleco’s love it and have to LFS feeding.

    I've had up to 12 and I only seem to want more but my landlord said no so I got three so what I'm doing is I actually have a tank that I practice aquascaping on and I hide it under the desk and then I also rescue fish well so far just one and I'm going to restore him and I'm going to have him live in that tank until I find a home for him right now he's in a small one gallon hospital tank it gets saltwater dips and fresh almond leaf water everyday. just after 3 days his color is starting to emerge but he's going to need a couple months of healing he's got melted fins and little holes in his fins but he can swim and open his fins which means he's not completely on desk door so with the salt dips and stuff he should be able to recover plus good high quality pellets and maybe some frozen blood

    Helping... 1 - Plan; 2 - DO a drainage system; 3 - Determine what kind of tanks you wil have; 4 - Space between the lid and the top (8 inches); 5 - Leave a space behind the tanks (consider your size); 6 - Leave a good space in the middle of the room;

I have 6 tanks in my room right now and am trying to figure out how I am going to set them up and where I am going to put them. I have polycarbonate lids on all my tanks, it keeps the heat in and means the heater doesn't work so hard, reduces the amount of evaporation and depending on how high your water level is in the tanks the splashing effect on walls and floor from the filters or bubbles etc..
