Listening to Kathleen dance around the issues instead of speaking directly is stressful. I believe that to fix a problem, it must be identified clearly and succinctly. My ex spoke this way and he could not tell the truth.

Maybe Simone Biles had anxiety about doing her routine and on the flip side, maybe it was discernment from God telling her not to do it because she was going to get seriously hurt? That’s the first thing I thought

I don’t praise Simone for protecting herself. Every athlete puts their body on the line for their team/country, which is why we have such respect for them. But, I will praise her for putting her team first, and saying that, “the backup is better than me in this moment, and she should compete in my place.” The athlete should be putting winning number 1, otherwise you shouldn’t be competing. I agree with John saying people are stupid for trashing Simone. Grow up. But, I also agree that people saying, “Put you first, girl!” Is just as wrong, and defeats the purpose of the olympic games.

Dr. Delony, are you suggesting that our culture needs more compassion? That's ridiculous! (I AM KIDDING) Compassion costs us nothing but seems to be so difficult for our culture to extend. I think it's because our culture compares compassion and weakness.

I've come to the conclusion, and I've felt this way for some time now, that it must be nice to not know what it is to carry ailments in your body that cannot be seen. Mental issues, autoimmune issues, internal injuries, etc. There are many of us who carry these things inside, but on the outside we look normal. We look okay. It's doubly infuriating when you are a young person. When we express pain, or need some time off, or say anything at all about what's going on inside, that cannot be seen, we are treated like we are weak, like we're liars, like we should just get over it. "You're young-you can take it." I have pain that has taken its toll on my body, and I learned to just keep my mouth shut about it. That also adds to the toll. I guess my point is, just SHUUUTTT UPPP. Unless you know the full story, you don't know anything.

Great Andrew is in AA, but is he actually working the steps? The Step-work with a solid sponsor with years of sobriety is crucial to remaining sober and making life progress. I'm surprised and disappointed Dr John didn't question or address this. And NO Dr John you are Wrong about AA telling people "they will always be this". They WILL ALWAYS BE ALCOHOLIC- they can Never be a normal drinker, but following the steps they Can and Will create a better life.

Mayb you should read the phone number between calls. I have seen Dave Ramsey do that, it gives me, as the listener, a second to catch my breath, otherwise the transition comes as if you don't care enough about the person you just talked to.

How do you find the balance of having a person keeping you accountable and not have it become an emotional affair?

Find someone to keep you accountable who is the same gender as you. Or if you must have someone of the opposite gender, find someone who is much older and wiser.

Simone Biles trained for years to be an Olympian. An Olympian doesn't Quit during the actual Olympics! I disagree with Dr D. The entire 2021 Summer Olympics were a complete joke. Lowest viewership ever. Along with many others, I didn't watch a single minute.

That's the only issue I have with Biles. The step back she took may have very well been legitimate, but she still could have shown up for USA and her team without outright quitting.
