CNA test came pretty easy to me since I was already doing CNA work for over 8 years. Honestly a lot of the questions were common sense and I think a lot of newer CNAs just freak themselves out so I did my best to help my classmates with not overthinking it. Definitely need to practice the skills so you won’t be nervous. I study the hardest skills b first just in case the computer had me doing them but surprisingly, I got the easiest ones.

It’s actually been going well and I get paid more thankfully. But when I say I HATED it at that facility, it was terrible and I’m not sure how or why anyone would find that workplace a good place to work.. it’s toxic and everyone acts like high schoolers. That was my experience. Also 10 or more patients per CNA should be a violation of some type of law. I’m learning a lot being in healthcare and I’m most likely switching gears and doing something else in the hospital system.

@@iizidlaury2023 yeah they do it’s because it’s assisted living , they don’t want to pay the price for Nurses so they use Ned Techs. Also in some assisted living facilities the meds are in the room with the resident and you just remind them of what pills to take , it just depends on the facility here. I believe Med techs will become more , just to cut back on pay for Nurses. Just as in the hospitals they don’t want LPN’s (their work is CNA level unless needed ) the hospitals only want RN’s or NP’s So with the LPN’s in play the CNA’s get cut because what are they really needed for when the LPN Will do their skilled level work It’s a mean chain of command , I think Trade school is the real way to go this day and age

So I have a bachelor degree in science and wanting to switch into nursing, i am aware of ABSN program, though I am afraid the program is too conpetitive , and it is financial straining if I apply straight now, so I am thinking of going for alternative path is to first become CNA, but can I go straight into RN PROGRAM after graduate cna and working for a few months to a year or so? Or I should go for LPN before the bsn program? Which way will gain me more experience ? And is experience really important if I want to increase my chance of getting accepted into nursing school? Thank you🙏🏾🙏🏾

Hey Renna , idk your specific situation but I would say per diem offers me a lot more for my mental health , not being tied down to a schedule is the best bet I’ve made for myself! If you are looking to find stability I always recommend the hospital! Let me know if I can answer any more questions for you.

@@RennatheeomnipotentI work at a retirement home as a nutritional aide, and will be taking the CNA program my job offers. I’ve asked many agency and direct facility members what their input is and pros/cons are of working for both. Agency of course more money and make your own schedule. A little more hectic dealing with multiple facilities and multiple patients. Working directly for a facility i was told is kind of hard to work for agency at the same time because of needing a set schedule. Also travel CNA is not offered health insurance whereas direct facilities do offer benefits. Pros and cons of each, kind of balance each other out. Ask other CNA and agency CNA their thoughts and opinions. I will work for a facility for a year, travel CNA, then MA. I wish you luck 🍀

@@youknowkbbaby no you clean a lot but it has a lot more to do with entry level nursing knowledge , you learn how to care for a patient and aid the nursing in the the nursing process to the Benefit of a patient’s care. We were just told there are NO CNA’s in FLORIDA anymore. So no one can help me with taking a shower at all.im So disappointed. I have to go weeks between showers ..I can wash my front but not my back. 😢I want to stay home, not in some nursing home! I can do for myself. Geesh, I worked over 50+ years & expected life would be not one of separation & struggle. Hence, my back can be gotten to with a brush…but my arthritis makes it so it’s not fully applied. Glad I’m not incontinent. How’d you like it if YOUR life went this way…after operating in good faith, getting degrees, working hard all your life to feel tossed aside unless you are completely incompetent. 😢
