I have the 15W version. I have 2 airstones connected and I just open a 3rd valve just enough to relieve the back pressure so it stays cooler. Just keep an eye on the bubbles so you can tell when you open it too much. It will be obvious. Now it's just warm to the touch. I do plan on adding another line. That should take care of the backpressure issue without having to have a valve slightly open.

Correct mate 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻I’ve a 16 exhaust I use 9 but like you suggest bleed out and not chock the pump

People don't seem to get this fact. Bleed off your excess pressure, don't dead head the pump.. Redirect that extra air back at your pump, and then you can keep the pump even cooler :)

what do you mean by Redirect that air? How???

@@slotreality just use one of your extra ports to bleed off any extra air, and if you want, take the port and direct the air back to blow on the pump and cool it down a little. Key thing, don't pinch off the air vent any extra air, allowing the pump to not have to work so hard.

To blow the air back to the pump exterior...well thats what he said in the first place not to block outlets...

I just bought one open box and realized that the outlet port is only 1/16 NPT and that's a restriction right there. Why go from 1/16 NPT to a much bigger 3/8 makes no sense and the barbs I can't seem to find anywhere. It comes with two, a 1/4" Barb and a 3/8 Barb. If these get lost forget about finding another one. I'm thinking of drilling it out and tapping it up to 1/8" but not sure if there is enough material on the housing to drill it out without the housing cracking.

Hello, Great Video At my retirement age as a Structural engineer I am trying to learn and do things I never did before, learning to keep fish one of them and as an Engineer I kind of like measuring the performance of my equipment's I am from Costa Rica thus I am kind of limited to locally available products and diversity of products typical of a small country, that said I have an Eco7 air blower with capacity of delivering 3556gph (225 l/min) that comes from factory with a 12 valve distribution manifold, that would mean that I should be able to deliver an average of 18.75 l/min to each air line, however, I have been unable to determine the true demand of the air stones and other air diffusers locally available and further I have noticed that after a few months the stones tend to reduce the amount of air they deliver by what seems to be a slime growth in the aquarium which probably means that the air pump is overworking (less air-more pressure-more heat), that reduced capacity seems to recover some (I would not say completely at bird´s eye) with an overnight bath in a mild acid like citric acid or Hydrogen Peroxide but since having restricted air flow in the pump can damage it (I have already blown a diaphragm) I have been trying to figure out just how to determine this factors with out fancy equipment from home 1- Do you know of a place I can locate a table of estimated air demand per type of air diffuser and may be a curve of air delivery reduction over time with use? (Currently I use stone cylinders 2¨x2¨ and 2¨x4¨ by EcoPlus and some plastic diffusers that dismantle apart as a collection of rings for cleaning kind what is shown in some videos as Never Clog 2- Can you suggest a way to determine at home how much air an air diffuser actually demands at any point time?

Thanks for the upload. I'm looking at adding a pump with 3-4 items for airflow. It's for a 60-gallon tank that I plan to have guppy fish in. I was looking at the 20W-317GPH size. Should this be good if I use all 4? Thanks.

I am using a 20W pump for my 600 liter fishtank ower 4 stones, and it is more than enough, i could easily add at least 6 or 8 ones to that pump. So i think the 20 or 18W will be more than enough for a 60 gallon tank. Guppys are not that demanding whan it come to waterflow, so i could probably get away with even less, but i decided to use the higher flow in order to prevent fungi infestion from stale water. For commercial use the manufacturer reccomend 6 items for the 20W pump, but that will give a realy high airflow. 3-4 1-2" items sound good to me for a 60 gallon tank for all normal species, like guppys, ancistrus, neon tetras, etc.

No, just do the least amount of adjustment to the valves and make sure that the pump is not oversized for what you are doing, if the pump is restricted too much then it causes too much heat and the pump will die faster
