The blue line from the photo underneath reminded me of when we did brass rubbing in churches when I was at school.

Ooooh newsprint! That takes me right back to the start of my journalism career when we had reams of the stuff lying round! I like this box, it's well structured and has a cool theme, I used to do lots of line doodle stuff back in the day and then fill in the blobs!

I was excited to see what you thought of them. I have the entire set of these crayons, they feel good in the hand and so fun to color with since the entire product is crayon. I am sure that it isn't everyone's cup of tea, but for me I love picking up a crayon(usually Crayola since I am across the pond) every once in a while.

A million years ago in my high school art class we did a single line drawing of a still life of an arrangement of potted plants and some draped fabric but we needed to do the drawing without looking at the paper - only looking at the subject. Quite an eye opening experience 👁️

I like the idea of the crayons, the shape is certainly interesting to play around with. I honestly can't think of anything I could do with them artwork wise. I am a beginner art attempter though. Maybe I just need more time and experience. I wish they were water soluble. Would be perfect for backgrounds maybe. I've not given them to the kid yet so I guess I'm waiting for some sort of idea or something to give them a proper try before I give up.

I've got a membership at a drawing club and we use Ami newspaper with a Wolff's Carbon pencil. Just for sketching of course, but the charcoal smudges beautifully (it's a 6B). The paper blocks come in A3 and A4 size and because they're reasonably cheap it's very nice to practice on.

I am with you on this. If I were to use a crayon, it would be a neocolor II that was water soluble. The box is interesting but not my thing! I appreciate that they tried for interesting, innovative art supplies in a well curated box. They did a good job, but ultimately a pass.

Great way to describe it. 'A pass'.

I haven't tried this box yet but I'm a bit nonplussed about it. I think I might use the pad for origami. 😊

Newsprint gives me the boak. It went straight to the recycling pile…… The crayons were rather lovely though.

The boak! How so? Does it invoke horrible childhood memories? I’m curious now…

I haven't come across newsprint paper before (well unless it's a newspaper) but I like the idea of this box for freeing you up. I did try one line drawing once as part of an art class - an introduction to Urban Sketching that got me arting. But I must confess I don't do it now. Maybe I should. Love the idea of getting back to doodling and not being precious with the paper. Were the teardrop crayons good for helping stop the death grip? A really interesting box.

I’d say the crayons would encourage a death-grip, although I never gave it any thought at the time!

I have never seen or heard of Newsprint Paper before 😂 it looks interesting.. does it feel silky? It kind of looks like it does 😆 what a curious box though, really unique I think (not in a bad way at all)! thanks for the unboxing, Gem-Gem 😃

I would've been disappointed in this box. I mean, crayons and newsprint? Am I back in kindergarten? Seems a bit cheap for the cost of the box.

Yeah, I 100% agree this would’ve devastated me. Because when I buy one of these boxes I’m here because I want a treat not because I want a crayon. And it really just strikes me as one of those crayons that’s made special for a little hands so it’s easier to hold.

I didnt think this box was worth the money. The crayons were nice but felt the rest of the items were just, meh 😕
