Actually, actors Reg Evans (Cocker), Anthony Bazell (Mankowitz), Peter Collingwood (Dunkley), Basil Clark (Bone) are English born. Practically all the cast are putting on comedy voices/accents, be them brassy common posh haughty or whatever. Like, June Bronhill plays a character who, like Slocomb, tries to sound refined but in moment of anger, lets her original accent slip through. Slocomb hid a Northern accent, Crawford a broad Aussie one. Not defending the program by the way!

If they were going to rip straight episodes from the UK version why even do little changes? In the UK version when Mr. Rumbold gave Mr. Lucas the slip with how much his pay raise was going to be he started crying. I thought it was less funny in this one where Mr. Humphries also cried for Mr. Randall's raise while Randall just gave a remark about it not being worth it.

Wow, creepy, Mr. Humphries is moonlighting at Kmart. Wtf?? That Mrs. Slocombe poorly done imitator looks like a contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race. Eww
at least John Inman made some money
Absolutely awful, thank goodness for John Inman. That said....I couldn't stop watching. 😆
Do you have the episode "Mrs Crawford, Senior Person" from this season? I can't find a copy of that *anywhere* online (even hardcore AYBS collectors don't have it)....
Try watching the American version called Beanes of Boston. It's on KZread. They only made a pilot. Its called German week.
I wish they would come out with a dvd complete series.
At the end: "Tomorrow night, after The Prisoner..." Ah, the good old days!

Curious, are you Australian? An if so, were you already familiar and watched some of the original Are you being served, british series, before watching these?
Mind you, there are a few little jokes in this version that are different from the original, and they do work. They gave this version the old college try, just did not pan out. At least it is not “Beanes of Boston.” Eww.

Hi many thanks for uploading. Do you have anymore AYBS Australia episodes?
You'd have thought they'd have come up with new material... clearly it's a blatant rip off of the original.

Same writers, so its not exactly a rip-off
Hey! If whoever behind this account is still on YT activity, may you please alert if your able to get the rest of the episodes for Are You Being Served?'s Australian spinoff if you can?
If I had never seen the British version of this show, I believe I would have been fine. The actors are very good. Having said that, I can,t make myself go through with watching the entire episode. Though the script is exactly the same, the actors are not.
Great value brand Are you being served.
its word for word from original...
Ouch, painfully bad.
Ill advised is, I suppose, the term. But Australian TV is quite capable of matching the quality of British sitcoms. I refer of course to the legendary 'Mother and Son'.
Boy, just came across this, and it has nothing on the original. Jon Inman must have been hard up for cash😂
Didn't thought the late John Inman would reprise his character Mr. Humphries for the "weak as water" Australian version of "Are You Being Served".

Money and a sunny Melbourne drew him to do it.
How many episodes of this were made ??
It was almost identical to the original story until the end. I prefer the original story more.
What was the purpose of this show? I mean no offense ,I just don't understand why they have the exact show with John Inman but with other actors
terrible script acting the lot......
I dont get it... was this made specifically for the australian market-- I dont hear any australia accents(id have a headache by now). And whats wrong with the original british version???
This viewing experience is the TV version of the Mandela Effect. Or Uncanny Valley.
They used the same script from the original show. John Inman had the exact same lines.

I know. They actually credit someone for “writing” the script at the beginning but all they did was change a few words and names
Why not just run reruns instead
I'm curious to see the pilot for the American version, Beanes of Boston.

Thanks for posting the link for US version. Makes the Aussie version look good! Not sure which was worse in the US version...the writing or the acting.
Anyone know where we can find any more episodes of this series. I love the Australian series as an interesting parody

As a gay man, watching Mr. Humphries on PBS in my teens really helped me .... just sayin'
THE One and Only the late MAURICE FIELDS rip 🙏 old mate,🕯️ cheers Stephen 🤠✌️
Never saw this cast. I first saw it w/ capt. Peacock, mrs. Sllocumb, Miss Brahms, and Mr. Lucus and so on. I don't think this cast is better. I like the cast I saw better. Still funny tho'!
It’s ok to watch when you know the original content. Makes me miss Blighty. 😎
I really hate when a popular show is stripped back by a foreign network and padded back up again in a new form whilst trying to remain the same with actors being forced into impersonations. but then I dont like any popular show that is brought back in any way with most of the fan favourite characters recast and replaced
sorry but they are no mrs slocambe, capt peacock etc..
I think the only reason these were made is cos the unions at the time insisted that shows were remade with local actors, it hardly happens these days..
It was. You can find copies from time to time on eBay.com

the british version went for 10 seasons. its not like anyone was short of are you being served. not to mention that it was still being made in the uk at the time this came out. I just dont understand why the network didnt simply buy and air what the uk was still producing if it was so popular in aus and if it was about the british humour xD
can u imagine the Original actor acting the old original material. poor guy.
Wait he starred in a knock of version?
That Wankowitz joke would never have been allowed in the UK version. 🤣
There were many UK comedies that went down under Love Thy Neighbour, Doctors, Father Dear Father. But even the great John Inman couldn’t save this pile of junk. There were many great Aussie actors back in that era where the heck did they find this lot
7 people were "savaged by a cocky"
The Australian version of this show is definitely better than the American version called The Beans of Boston. It only aired once as a pilot episode, it was never picked up and was never to be seen again.

I don't understand why there was another version.. don't understand it. the magic is totally gone. Greetings from the Netherlands. (were the original serie was a big hit)
Well, this was better than the american version ''Beanes of Boston'' or whatever. Anybody else pausing at 5:13 and squinting?
take note NETWORK DVD.. THERE IS A AUDIENCE FOR THESE AUSTRIAN UK comedy shows..and so many of them.. I'm desperate to see UP THE CONVICTS.. STEPTOE AND SON..for two.
This version of Are You Being Served? is abysmal. ..but Shane Bourne is HOT!!
It may be viewed as a knockoff, but you can't blame them for trying.
Where is Mr. Lucas?
U.K. must have had a bigger budget and more time for polish in rehearsal.
It was a mistake copying the original AYBS. Interesting, but it didn't translate well. :(
How’d they get Bob Spiers to direct this?

It was part of the deal done by the BBC and Network 10, where Bob would direct and John Inman would star in it.
This is absolutely SHIT!!!!! Here is where "are you being served" is killed. I can cry seeing this!
the name Wagstaff is a deserved nod to the Marx brothers!
This is painful....i didnt know Australia tried to flog a dead horse
I know most episodes word for word.. this confirms how great the original cast was because it's almost the exact same script but the delivery, set, and direction are all off..
Why not just import the actual show?? why remake it??
dumpster fire i can't look away!
14:00 A guy like that would never fit in at Bone Brothers.
The original script is brilliant! John Inman never disappoints. The other actors were variously good or so-so, but it was fun to watch anyway.
I'm free.....sport !
An utter farce. The original was terrific
i can't really hear their aussie accents............are they trying to do british accents instead?
